Tortos

Tortos

Tortos Guide, available in the Abyss of Laziness; in the sun of thunder. Over the millennia, small amounts of mogu flesh-moderating magic seeped into the caverns below the Thunder King's citadel. The dark energies distorted one of the chamber's native dragon turtles and fused it to the surrounding crystalline walls. Known as Tortos, this combination of meat and stone has feasted on the cave's rich mineral deposits and grown to colossal size.

Tortos

Ions: In addition to the question of why we fight, and the lesson that our true enemy is war, one of the most important themes of Mists of Pandaria has been the slaughter of turtles. This encounter takes that theme to a new extreme and gives players the opportunity to fight a turtle. gigantic and against small turtles, in addition to giving them the ability to kick one of the turtles towards the larger turtle. What more could they ask for?

Fun fact: We originally wanted to create a Fire Turtle boss in the Southeastern section of the Firelands for Patch 4.2, but decided against it. Since then, we have been waiting for the opportunity to fight a turtle.

oondasta

oondasta, a new boss of the World, finds himself on a misty island off the north shore of Kun-Lai. You will find the demosaur resting inside a crater in the center of this area.

guide-Oondasta

When the war against the citadel broke out, there were scouts who dedicated themselves to intercepting missives between the Zandalari camps. One of them contained an unknown Zandalari word always surrounded by terms of conquest and power: Oondasta. Somewhere in Pandaria, the Zandalari Beast Guard trains their creatures to become weapons of war, and now they are putting the finishing touches on this loa-infused monster. However, the exact location remains a mystery...

Raden

ra den

Guide of Ra Den, available in the Pinnacle of Storms (Room of Thunder). Lei Shen's life changed forever when she staggered into the chamber obscura beneath what is now the Mogu'shan Chambers. Legend has it that she encountered an ancient titan who guarded a miraculous device known as the Nalak'sha Engine. No one knows what happened between these two beings, but Lei Shen left that place with enough power to forge an empire. The guardian's fate and current whereabouts remain a mystery.

Raden

Ions: This is the "Algalon" of the area; an extra boss for more experienced raiders who have completed the main zone progression. Lei Shen is the real final boss in the area, and we wanted to make sure that was the case. Unlike what happens with Sinestra in the Bastion of Twilight, to reach Ra-den after having unlocked it, it will be necessary to go back a few steps. In the dungeon guide, the mechanics of the fight are intentionally unclear, so I won't say much more. The main objective of the dungeon guide is to provide players who are trying to learn about the encounters an in-game resource to avoid having to go out to read a guide in a web browser. In Ra-Den's case, we know that the first players to find it are probably the same ones who often write those guides online, so hopefully they'll experience a sense of discovery when they first see it.

Lei-Shen-The-Thunder-King

Lei shen

Guide to Lei Shen, The Thunder King, available at Pinnacle of Storms (Throne of Thunder). Tyrant, dictator, conqueror and emperor. The Thunder King earned these titles after driving all the races of Pandaria to utter misery. Risen in a world where its people are no longer in command, Lei Shen is hell-bent on ending this charade and once again becoming the owner of all the land.

Lei-Shen-The-Thunder-King

Ions: The central concept for the Lei Shen fight emerged during a brainstorming session in which members of the match design team were coming up with variants for possible fight mechanics and trying to see if any of them worked. A popular idea was that the Thunder King would need to periodically stop and recharge, but someone suggested an interesting twist: The Thunder King is not simply a battery that needs to be recharged; in fact, he himself is the source. So instead of him absorbing power from the citadel, the citadel would absorb power from him. He is a very powerful warrior on his own, with unique weapons and electrical attacks, so his mere presence feeds and activates different areas of his citadel's defenses; managing to overcome those defenses is a central element of this match. With a host of visual effects created by our effects artists and a dungeon with a mind-blowing background (those walls aren't merely decorative), Lei Shen is the epic final encounter that rounds out a mind-blowing gang zone.

Twin consorts

Twin Consorts - Twin Consorts

Guide to the Twin Consorts - Twin Consorts, available in the Pinnacle of Storms (Room of Thunder). Lei Shen's twin Consorts, Lu'Lin and Suen, are said to be the Thunder King's greatest treasures. They are rumored to be the only female members of the mogu in existence. Lei Shen keeps her treasures close to her; and even closer to the powerful combined arsenal that makes them so strong against intruders.

Twin consorts

Ions: Players may have noticed the complete absence of female mogu during their travels across the continent of Pandaria. Players who take a closer look at the models of these heavenly twins will notice that their shapes literally appear to have been sculpted from stone. And so it is. These twins were specially created by Lei Shen and strengthened to serve and protect him, thus they are a direct reflection of his will rather than a symbol of the mogu culture as a whole. A previous version of the concept for this fight had been the spirits of the Sun and the Moon, but that idea did not close (and we all know that the only true spirit of the Moon is Elune, and clearly she was not imprisoned by the King of Thunder). ).

Qon-el-Tenacious

Qon the Tenacious - Iron Qon

Guide to Qon the Tenacious - Iron Qon, available in the Pinnacle of Storms (Thunder Throne). Legends speak of the brutality of Qon and his quilen champions. This reckless mogu commander was nicknamed "Qon the Tenacious" by the Thunder King due to his unstoppable determination to achieve victory after victory no matter the cost.

Qon-el-Tenacious

Ions: Qon is one of Lei Shen's personal guardians, and is a master of mounted combat. The inspiration for the original concept of this fight came from the hand of Lu Bu, the warlord of the time of the Three Kingdoms; a fierce warrior known for his skill in spear fighting on horseback. Even though Qon has some cool and unique mounted attack animations, we ultimately decided it would be more interesting to explore game options through the abilities of his different mounts. For this reason, the encounter shows Qon riding different magical quilen, each of which is fortified with very powerful elemental attacks. This results in a four phase match that more closely resembles four separate fights merged into one.
