Races Cycle: Orcs

The Green-skinned Orcs are one of the most prolific races on Azeroth. Born in the world of Draenor, the orcs came to Azeroth through the dimensional portal known as The Dark Portal, starting a war against the Humans, influenced by the Burning Legion.

The orcs created a noble and shamanistic society on Draenor. Tragically, the proud orc clans were corrupted by the Burning Legion and used as pawns in the legion's invasion of Azeroth. However, the orcs rebelled and eventually managed to help pay their former masters in kind.

Led by the young swarthy warchief, the orcs have regained their strength and honor. The orcs moved from the eastern kingdoms to Kalimdor and there the nation of Durotar was founded.

Now the orcs are not willing to fight for the cause of conquest but for their own right of survival in that foster world.

The orcs of Draenor have lived a shamanic and noble society. They were nomads who lived in the lush grasslands of Nagrand on their dusty home planet, Draenor, for more than 5000 years. They lived in peace with the Draeneis and were at war with the ogres. The presence of the draenei alerted the Burning Legion. After investigating the world, the powerful demon lord Kil'jaeden tricked a respected shaman named Ner'zhul into the service of the Burning Legion. Ner'zhul and all the orcs could receive the power necessary to conquer vast new lands in exchange Kil'jaeden would gain an army capable of crushing the Draenei. To obtain this power the orcs would have to drink the blood of Mannoroth, the destroyer, a powerful lord of the pit. Gromm Hellscream was one of the first to drink and had a hard time convincing the chiefs of other clans to follow his example. This caused them to acquire the blood curse.
