The events that will occur shortly before Cataclysm for Gnomes and Trolls are currently in testing in the Public Realms. You already know that I am from the alliance so neither short nor similar I took a walk to see what was cooked by Gnomeregan.
What am I talking about? The gnomes are preparing on a mission to reclaim the Gnomeregan home that Mechaengineer Thermoplug took from them. Before all this, Blizzard gave some information that you can find in these two articles.

Having said all this, I am going to tell you about the… * wait for it * ¡Operation Gnomeregan!

Operation Gnomeregan begins
As I was not sure where to go, I decided to stop by Gnomeregan to see what was cooked. Upon arriving in Ironforge, as soon as I got out of the subway, I found that the Senior Handyman Mekkatorque gave me a mission that is none other than introducing you to the event.
It all starts in Tinker Town, the Gnome area of Ironforge. The Greater Handyman Mekkatorque is preparing the reconquest of the city and wants us to help him recruit some gnomes… Of course! With a gnomish artifact! We'll have to take them to Captain Tread Sparkmouth, who is in charge of recruiting and training recruits near Kharanos.
Nearby we will see many "idle" gnomes on which we will use our Motivatron. Most will join the cause quickly and the rest… well… we all know how gnomic artifacts work, don't we?
When we have them all, we will leave Ironforge in search of the Captain. We will soon realize that the Brasacerada Warehouse (near Kharanos) has become a makeshift training ground and initial base for operations.
Honestly, it is impressive to see the Gnomes in formation, the gnome machines and even siege tanks.
After taking the short recruits to the Captain, our next mission will be to address Sergeant Steamer Mecha and follow his orders. We will have to follow a sequence of "emotions" to complete the mission among which are / cheer, / roar and ... / dance. If a gnome in itself is funny dancing, a battalion of Gnomes dancing at the same time is hilarious.
After completing the drill, we will return to Sergeant Mecavapor to continue our preparations.
In this mission, we will have to test the tiny tanks of the gnomes (which look more like spiders). These tanks are next to Captain Tread Sparknozzle and we will quickly see that the cursor changes us to a small steering wheel. We will test the tank's seat ejection system several times, then test the test tank's maneuverability by moving the legs and doing evasive maneuvers. Finally, we will have to test the firepower by firing blanks at a target.
The next mission will be given to us by the Snout Gear Pilot. He will send us onto 'Velocirrayo' for an important mission. Examine the radiation levels through the ventilation ducts with special devices to ensure that the incursion will be safe for the gnomish troops. We will only have to use the Radiageigatrons and throw it on the windows of the ducts, you will see them well because they have quite large arrows.
After returning in our helicopter, they will give us a new mission. On this occasion we will have to go to show 3 samples of a speech of encouragement to the gnome people that the Senior Handyman Mekkatorque has prepared to 3 different gnomes and return with the opinions. Honestly, I burst out laughing when I saw that one of the phrases is: «They can take our lives, but they will never take away…… our INNOVATION! ». Although I won't talk about the other 2 sentences, the gnomes don't seem to be very impressed by the speeches. When they return, they will make a new speech that we will have to take to Captain Tread Sparkmouth.
Did you miss the breeze on your face? Return to Velocirayo to deliver the speech to the Greater Handyman Mekkatorque who is on the battlefield plane.
They will give us an incredible outfit: Gnomeregan Pride. With this suit we can become Gnomes for a while. Very funny!
This is the most important part of the event. After delivering the speech, the Senior Handyman will give the signal for the operation to begin.
First, we will recover the Aerial Tower by destroying the Rocket Launchers (which will be well defended) allowing the gnomes to provide air support. Soon after, we will head to the engineering facility where radiation avoidance suits are located on Gnomeregan. The facilities are well defended by more Rocket Launchers although this time we will have air support.
Finally, we will reach the tunnels that are protected by waves of Troggs that will try to stop our advance and even a huge Trogg called Ghasterikk will appear that will make it even more difficult. However, nothing poses much of a threat to the gnome army.
Inside, we will find a large artifact that Mekkatorque calls Irradiator. As more waves of Troggs arrive, a countdown will begin although there is 10 minutes to stop the bomb. Mekkatorque is confident and does not hesitate to brag about it. The joy will be short-lived as Thermoplug will reduce the timer to 10 seconds. Quickly Mekkatorque will save the situation and teleport us all outside, freeing us from a tragic outcome.

The mission ends here in the test realms and we will partially fail in the reconquest of Gnomeregan since we will only have managed to get hold of the surface. The King of the Gnomes continues to fight to plot a new assault. When you give him the last mission (and receive the achievement) he will tell us that there is not much left to take Gnomeregan completely.
After reading all this (if you have) I encourage you to try it yourself or wait to see it live. Personally I have loved the staging and the action that all this generates. Perhaps he would have missed being able to use the tanks in the siege beyond simply testing them. On the other hand, this leads me to think that the event will not come out in full at the time and that it will be equally divided with, perhaps, a week in between.
