We are going to do a brief review of this event, which although it is very simple and without achievements (yes, sorry) it is a good opportunity to take a walk with your brotherhood and since you are taking a walk around the place that honors the memory of the fallen of the opposing faction.

At a glance everything you need to know about this event.

Honor your heroes

Throughout history, many have given their lives for their allies. Every year, both Horde and Alliance members spend a few days honor the memory of the fallen and to pay tribute to those of most revered remembrance: Uther the Lightbringer for the Alliance and Grom Hellscream for the Horde. The heroes put their adventures aside to visit the graves of these two great figures and offer a tribute in their memory. To show their respect, the Alliance members light a candle at Uther's grave in the Western Plaguelands. Members of the Horde do so by leaving a bottle of liquor at the base of the Hellscream Memorial in Demon Fall Canyon in Ashenvale.

Additionally, adventurers can see the spirits of the fallen outside Orgrimmar and Ironforge, and take a moment to sample a jug of harvest nectar in their memory. Others harvest food they are served on the tables, for those who have made a long journey to the tomb of the heroes to pay homage to them. Adventurers can satisfy their hunger with fish, fruit or wild boar from the harvest, as well as a taste of nectar from the harvest.

A Little History

Uther the Lightbringer

uther_illuminated

Uther the Lightbringer, was the founder of the holy order of Paladins known as the Silver Hand. Commanding this order, he fought fiercely during the Second War against the Horde. During this war he received his nickname "The Enlightened One" from Anduin Lothar and Turalyon after the battle on Blackrock Mountain.
After the second war, he served proudly in the court of King Terenas, becoming the mentor of young Arthas.

When Medivh alerted King Terenas of the Scourge's intentions, he sent Uther and Arthas on a reconnaissance mission.

He died at the hands of Arthas when he was already under the influence of the Scourge, protecting with his life the urn that contained the remains of Terenas and that Arthas intended to use to transport the remains of the fallen Kel'Thuzad to the source of the sun. Although Uther outnumbered Arthas, the Paladin was outnumbered by the forces of the plague.

His tomb is located near Andhoral, curiously the first city to be affected by the plague making it the only holy place in the Western Plaguelands.

In the Caverns of Time: "The Massacre of Stratholme" can be seen when Arthas orders him to "purge the city." Uther refuses because Arthas is not his king, and even if he were he would not do such a thing to the citizens of Stratholme.

Hellscream Grom

Grom Hellscream was the founder of the Orc Warsong clan. He was undoubtedly an important leader of the Horde clans and his actions had a great impact on the course of this faction.

During the second war, he was encouraged along with the rest of the clan leaders to drink the blood of Mannoroth by Gul'dan. Promising victory and power, Grom was the first leader to drink from Gul'dan's cauldron, sentencing the fate of the Horde clans with that act.

Grom would soon become Thrall's mentor, who escaped from the internment camps where humans held many orcs.

The curse would punish Grom again when, on Kalimdor, he is tricked by Mannoroth himself into drinking his blood again. There was nothing he wanted more than to kill Cenarius. Despite the fact that Grom's hosts had had few victories over the Night Elves, Cenarius presented himself as a difficult adversary. His pride and the demon's deception led him to drink again the blood that flowed in a fountain in Ashenvale.

Although Grom finally kills Cenarius, Mannoroth appears before the orc leader to tell him that his act has doomed his clan and they would all be under his control.

It would be Thrall with the help of Jaina who would awaken the Warsong clan from their lust for blood.

But grom knows that the only way to end that curse and redeem himself is to end the demon.

The battle takes place that would end both the demon and Grom himself, thus releasing the fate of all the orcs.
