After long years in exile, the Darkspear trolls are preparing to invade the Echo Islands and claim the land that was once given to them by Thrall. Led by Vol'jin, a wise and valued Darkspear, the bravest warriors will set out from Orgrimmar and Sen'jin Village, seeking to bring The Fall of Zalazane and begin rebuilding their homes and villages in the Echo Islands.
After announcing the availability of the event in the PTRs, we have decided to test it and bring you first-hand its development and impressions. You may not want to know anything about the event yet, in that case do not continue reading.
The Echo Isles Reconquest event consists of seven missions. The quest chain unfolds in and around Sen'Jin.
The first mission comes to us from vanira.
First Mission: E'Pías pe'fectos
Before reconquering the Echo Isles, Vanira has to gather information for our leader, Vol'Jin. In this first mission, we must capture frogs in order to use them as spies. The frogs will be controlled thanks to Vanira's Sentry Totem.
Second Mission: Frogs out!
Once the frogs are under the influence of Vanira, we have to distribute them around the Echo Islands. For this we will have a Bat, provided by the caretaker Marnlek, on which we will travel the islands in order to launch the frogs. We will have to launch them on some smoke beacons, previously marked with the help of the Spirits.
At this point, we won't have access to any more missions from Vanira. But we will have a new mission available from him Champion Uru'zin.
Third Mission: Volunteer control
Vol'Jin has tasked Champion Uru'zin with training new recruits. We are sent to Cerrotajo, and with the help of a drum we will have to motivate the inhabitants to join the cause as volunteers.
Fourth Mission: Lady of the tigers
This is one of the most important missions of the chain, in it we discover the Lore of the Druid Trolls, which will be available in the next expansion, Cataclysm.
The Vanira frogs have collected some very interesting information. On one of the island to the southeast there is a very powerful tigress, which is feared in the area. Vanira believes that she can be a powerful ally.
In order to challenge it, we are transformed into the spirit of the tiger, which has three main abilities: Claw, Bloody Rip, and Spinning Scratch.
After reaching the area indicated by Vanira, the tigress comes to her defense and we have to fight to challenge her in order to try to convince her to be our ally.
After defeating the tigress we discovered something surprising ...
… Is a Troll, in druid form. His name is Zen'Tabra and becomes our ally in the reconquest.
And it's time to turn the mission over to Vol'Jin, who is glad to have a new ally.
After gathering information about the enemy and finding new allies, it is time to prepare for the reconquest.
Fifth Mission: Dance of the spirits
Before starting the battle we have to consult the omens to find out when to launch the attack. For this we are sent to him Hez'tok Witch Doctor to perform the ritual.
The omens are not happy that we left the Echo Isles, but they reveal to us that in order to defeat Zalazane we must first fix things with Bwonsamdi, the guardian of the dead.
After completing this mission we are rewarded with a costume that allows us to transform into a Darkspear warrior.
Mission Six: Preparing for battle
Champion Uru'zin informs us that Vol'Jin is ready for battle, and that we are to meet him and his warriors on an eastern island. For this we again have a bat as a form of transport.
Once we arrive at the meeting point and thanks to the Phasing technique we find the Echo Islands adapted to the event. It is an event very similar to that of the Undercity, where we must wait in case there is already a battle in progress to begin the reconquest.
Seventh Mission: The fall of Zalazane
One of the first steps of the reconquest is to obtain the blessing of bwonsamdi, since it controls the spirits of the dead of the Islands and is a fundamental ally to be able to defeat Zalazane.
After fighting Bwonsamdi, we managed to convince him to help us with the recovery of the Islands and the defeat of Zalazane.
With the help of the tribe, the main characters and Bwonsamdi we travel through all the Echo Islands chasing Zalazane ...
... until his fall.
Once the mission is completed, we will obtain the following strength achievement: Zalazane's Fall.
