Clique Quick Guide

The Clique is a "click-casting" addon, very easy to use, which allows us to assign abilities to mouse clicks and combinations of these with keyboard modifiers. Its operation is similar to that of a mouseover macro. That is, we can cast our spells on him Grid or another frame addon directly by clicking on the desired target, without having to select it previously. This adds reaction speed, especially when it comes to instant spells that you have to use while moving, although it can be used with spells of all kinds.

The ones that use it the most are the healers, but any class that has a spell that interacts with another player can take advantage of it to gain reaction speed when it has to, for example, throw a Redirection to the tank.

This addon has undergone slight changes with the release of patch 4.0.1, notably improving its appearance and configurability. In addition, it also better detects different types of mice.

Can be downloaded from WowInterface. In this link you can also find answers to the most advanced questions. It is the perfect complement to the Grid or the Xperl.

To access the Clique configuration menu, we simply open the spell book, where we will see that we have an extra tab.

click-binding-configuration

As we press the configuration tab of the Clique, we can see the following:

click-binding-mode

By default we have 2 bindings:

  • On the left button, Target clicked unit, which will serve to select the unit that we click.
  • On the right button, Show unit menu, which would serve to show the menu of each unit (in which we can invite you, inspect you…. etc).

I recommend removing the bind from the right button (Show unit menu) since it is not widely used and we will want to take advantage of that bind for more interesting things. Deleting a bind is simple, we simply right click on it in the list and select "Delete" from the drop-down menu.

bind spell

Binding any spell is very simple. From the initial screen that we see when we open the configuration menu, we simply search the spell book for the one we want to use and click on it with the combination of keys and mouse that we want. The bindeo is already saved. Very simple!

For example, I use Spring Tides with right click on the Grid. So to assign it, just right-click on the corresponding spell in the book.

bind others

At the bottom of the configuration interface we have other options. One of them is "Bind other", which allows you to use some special features:

click-bind-other

  • Target Clicked Unit: we must always place a binding to select (by default, left mouse click)
  • Open Unit Menu: personally I do not use this special bind, which would allow to open the unit menu (where we can whisper it, inspect it, etc).
  • Run Custom Macro: we can write the macro we want to assign it to a specific bind. We write whatever text it is, and in "Set binding", we click with the combination we want to assign.

Options

The other button at the bottom is used to access the Clique configuration menu.

click-frame-blacklist

The configuration options are as follows:

Click: in this menu we have some interesting options.

  • Trigger bindings on the "down" portion of the click (experimental): Utility that is being implemented that is used so that the spell is executed when we press the button, and not when we release it (this is what happens by default). It is the same effect that the addon does SnowfallKeyPress.
  • Swap profiles based on talent spec: Profiles are automatically changed when we change talents.
  • Profile Management: In this drop-down menu we will create new profiles or exchange between the ones we have. Ideally, have one per spec or character.

click-menu

Frame Blacklist: This menu is used to choose in which units we want the clicks to work. By default, they will act on all of them, but for example, if we have the right click on a cure binded, when we want to inspect someone on the target frame, we will not be able to because instead we will launch the cure (although this can be solved with a binding extra). Personally, I only want the Clique to work on the Grid, therefore in the list of addons that appears, I have to mark all the ones that I want to ignore:
