The Classes of Môrtifilia: The Warrior

Today we are going to treat a very special class. A class that can put itself in front of any enemy without wetting its pants, but that, when seeing a little robot that repairs armor, knows the meaning of the word fear ...

Leveling up

During the WoW Classic, the warrior has been the class that could receive the most damage without dying, along with a large number of skills that allowed him to do a lot of damage in a short time. This may make you believe that the warrior was easy to climb, but it is not.

Warriors are not dependent on mana, but have rage. Anger is depleted if they are not in combat and in combat it is generated at a fairly slow rate. Having the best armor in the game, they don't need to stop for a meal very often, but it's not just that… they shouldn't stop almost under any circumstances, as they ran out of anger easily.

Warriors had two ways to level up, both had their advantages and disadvantages.

Either they went up as tanks or as dps. Being a tank, its damage was insufferably low, they could not catch many enemies at the same time, since they would lower their life too much and they would have to stop to eat, and as I said, to the bad. As a good part, is that they found a group easily and could do more dungeons without much concern, taking into account that the dungeon missions give a very high amount of experience, and the dungeons themselves give a lot of experience, the slowness of doing missions with the security of being able to go dungeons.

On the other hand, you could go up being dps, which killed faster, so the rest time between fights was reduced a lot, but ... it could cost more to find a group to do the dungeons, and possibly you would have to tank with a shield and weapon at one hand, which required having the skill of that moderately raised weapon.

Here I have to make a small paragraph. Although there were more classes that could tank, these were seen as "second" tanks and gave more security to a tank even if it was not with the correct talents, since many of their abilities grant more protection and generation of agro than the rest of the tanks. classes enabled for tanking. A dps warrior was the best option to climb, but "forced" to have a secondary team in case you were needed to tank a low-medium level dungeon or off-tank a medium-high level. This has been true during the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, with this latest expansion being the one that has obtained the most benefits to level up as a tank, since the damage dealt has been increased and the generation of anger by talents has also been has seen improved in this branch.

Raiding

Okay, a warrior does not have to buy any type of component or anything like that, so ... How did warriors prepare for a raid? As before, we have to see it from the point of view of a tank and a dps. The warrior, during WoW Original, was the best tank of all. They had the best agro generation, accompanied by the best damage mitigation, which is why they used to be chosen as Main Tanks. This implies having to know a boss better than anyone, when he loses threat, when to use his skills of greater damage mitigation ... all this, keeping an eye on anger, since the generation of anger of a protection warrior was quite tight, and remembering that the guides, videos and other aids almost did not exist, so it could only be learned during the boss, not before.

In addition, being constantly receiving damage meant that their equipment was damaged quite easily and the armor repairer or repair robot presented them with astronomical bills, which implied hours of money farming, since there were no daily missions. To this we add that the team of a tank has to be the best for each encounter. What does a boss hurt of nature? To look for that piece that gives a lot of life and resistance to nature that only falls in a specific place. What now is fire resistance needed? Then head to find all the equipment with possible fire resistance, without forgetting the defense, the blocking, the stop ...

As dps they did not have it much easier, since, as their dps was inferior to that of other classes, they had to off-tank if a monster escaped or a patrol got out of control. Change of stay, equip one-handed weapon and shield in the middle of combat, threaten ... all this in a few seconds, at a time when addons did not exist, or had not yet been programmed as they are now.
Both during the Burning and during the Wrath of the Lich King things were quite simplified for the warriors. They weren't necessarily main tanks anymore, and their dps was comparable to other dps classes, and the inclusion of daily missions was a great help in paying the armor repair and robot repair bills.

And so far the changes to the warrior. Likewise, the damage they do has been significantly increased, going from being a class almost exclusively for tanking, to a class that can do damage comparable to other classes.
