Arenas Pass 2010: Interview with Siler

We are pleased to be able to interview siler. He is one of the Spanish players, without a doubt, the most representative in PvP. On the occasion of his participation in the current Arena Pass 2010 with the team "No more«, We have decided to know first hand your impressions about the PvP landscape and the Arenas Pass. Enjoy.

Hello Siler! Thank you for your time and for accepting this interview. Would you like to introduce yourself to the community?

- My nickname is Siler, I'm 22 years old and I've been playing World of Warcraft since it came out. I have participated in various championships, and I have been part of the x6tence team.

What is the team with which you participate this year in the Tournament?

- This year I participate with Method and Blukstack, 2 Spanish players, forming the «No more» team.

Are they the same teammates you participated with last year and brought you to BlizzCon?

- No, last year I played with Souler and Falcon. At the moment I am playing outside of x6tence, although I do not rule out entering with the current team, it will be seen.

What class are you playing? What strengths does it offer you compared to the rest of the classes?

- In this Arena Tournament I am using the warrior and it is not bad, but it is not easy to be at the top with a warrior arms.

Do you have many problems when it comes to changing to another class according to the needs of the team?

- I can use Hunter too.

What class would you never play?

- A magician.

Tell us! How do you see the top of the European Pass right now?

- The top this year is full of Lock Affli, Elemental Shaman, Druid Resto, it is one of the best setups currently.

Other setups are:

  • Paladin Holy, Hunter MM, Warrior Protection
  • Shaman rest, Paladin Holy, Warrior Arms.

Also noteworthy is Hydra's Rogue, Mage, Priest (RMP) setup.

Are you working hard to return to BlizzCon this year?

- Yes, we will do our best to get into Blizzard Regionals and qualify for Blizccon.

Which team do you think is unbeatable at the moment?

- All the teams at the top are very good, but I would stick with the Hydramist RMP.

What do you think of the representation of classes in the Tournament of the Sands this year? We see a lot of shaman (Bloodlust / Heroism) and a lot of human (Every Man for Himself), do you take advantage of it too?

- Yes, there is a lot of Elemental Shaman, Druid Resto and Human Warlock Affli, it is a very complete setup. But we can't use it, since I don't know how to use any of those classes.

I don't know if you've read Hydramist's views on Europe's position on the eSports scene. What do you think about it?

- I agree with Hydramist's opinion about the equipment not working or falling apart. It is mostly due to the shortage of World of Warcraft championships and the speed with which the patches change everything completely.

Do you agree that in Europe there are good Priests but few good Shamans?

- I see it normal, I see it more complicated to be a good rest shaman than a good priest, the truth is that in Europe there are not many rest shamans at the top.

Now we go on to talk a little about the life of a hardcore gamer. How many hours do you spend playing the game daily? How long in tournament time?

- I spend 2-3 hours a day playing arenas in World of Warcraft.

Is it difficult to find a good sponsor?

- In Spain it is very difficult to find a good sponsor. We are way behind many European Union countries when it comes to e-sports. With my old team, x6tence, undoubtedly the best Spanish club, we had several sponsors who have paid for our trips to international championships for 2 years.

Can you really make a living by "playing wow professionally"?

- Living from World of Warcraft is complicated, you have to have a very committed team and play daily to be among the elite of the game to make a living from it. It is a game in which changes, patches, etc. are the order of the day.

A combination goes from being the best to the worst in a matter of weeks, the key to winning tournaments is learning to use several classes that allow you to change combinations at any time to surprise your opponent, obviously you have to know these classes very well.

What do you recommend to someone who wants to enter the WoW eSports world?

- The best option to enter this world is to play hard in the Blizzard Arena Tournament. It is open a month and a half a year, and the first 8 of the ranking go to the Regionals and it is where you can make yourself known and show people what you are worth.

Do you visit any special PvP or eSports page?

- I usually visit x6tence, gameriot y SK Gaming.

We hope to have Siler on more occasions. A pleasure from the staff of GuíasWoW.
