El Throne of Thunder or Throne of Thunder it is a band instance available in patch 5.2. Emperor Lei shen, the King of Thunder, has returned to unleash his vengeance on Pandaria. sun-of-thunder

The Throne of Thunder is a sprawling citadel that houses 12 new raid encounters, and players who defeat Emperor Lei Shen in Heroic Mode can get a chance to face an extra thirteenth enemy. The Throne of Thunder Raid Finder version will split into 4 different wings. Join the Shado-Pan Assault on their solo campaign to defeat Lei Shen, the Thunder King, once and for all, and gain access to reward items with impressive value points. Reputation can only be earned with this faction in the Thunder Throne Raid Dungeon.

Thousands of years ago, when Pandaria broke away from Kalimdor, a veil of mist prevented aliens from discovering the newly formed continent. The mist also hid the remains of an ancient evil: Lei Shen's Throne of Thunder. During his reign, that fortress was the center of the Thunder King's power. Even after his death, large doses of corrupted energy remained in the air, and now, the resurrected Thunder King and the Zandalari troll seek to master that energy in order to raise the kingdom of Lei Shen once more.

Join us as we visit the Fortress of the Thunder King, one of the largest gang-fighting dungeons that adventurers from Azeroth have seen in their entire careers. In this article, we will meet its terrifying inhabitants and chat with our Head of Encounter Development, Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas, who will give us information on each of the battles.

La Isle of Thunder It is a new zone in 5.2 that is the location of a server-level war effort, new factions, and daily missions. However, there is a lot of vanity content too, for players who dislike the dailies.

This guide covers the basics of completing the new diaries, but also points out all the other things you can do on the island. As you access more content as you progress through the War Effort, we've also outlined what you can do now, and what you will have to wait a few weeks from now.

Unlike factions tied to the launch of MoP, factions in the Isle of Thunder they are not tied to having raid quality gear or unlocking daily for other factions. As long as you complete 12 days a day, it is possible to have fun in the Isle of Thunder without doing any daily and just enjoying other content, such as killing rares, getting Stormbreaker by completing achievements, and farming troll transmog gear.

Hermit Achievements

Three new achievements have been added in 5.2 for finding monuments and learning more about the Mogu and Zandalari in the process. We have marked the coordinates of each object.

{tab = Monsters}

Gods and monsters
Law enforcement officers: 34.9, 54,9
Mogu legends speak of an age of golden light, when there was order out of world chaos. The mogu are said to have walked among the earth-skinned Titans. Their numbers were legion, and their will was the will of their masters.

According to the stories of the time, the mogu dug the mountains and valleys of Pandaria with their bare hands. Every river, every lake, and every mountaintop was sculpted according to a divine plan.

The mogu called their Titan master "The Storm." He was her protector. They were an extension of his will: agents of order, obedient and powerful, forgers of a new world.

[Age of a Hundred Kings]: 62.5, 37.7. Stage 5
Long after the age of the Titans, when the mogu had turned to flesh and fell on one another, the land was in chaos. Mogu warlords fought for territory and power. It was the Age of a Hundred Kings.

This was the era of Lei Shen. Young and proud, he saw the ruined works of his forefathers scattered across the war-torn landscape. He lived with a profound sense that his people were not living up to their purpose or potential.

The titans no longer spoke. Lei Shen took it upon himself to speak for them.

[Shadow, Storm, and Stone]: 59.3, 26.5. Stage 4
Across mogu art and literature, one legend is found, repeated and embellished again and again. It is the legend of Shadow, Storm, and Stone. Here is a rough translation of the earliest known transcript of the story:

The beast of seven heads
Smoke seven breaths.
The land wet shadow
And the swarm blackened the sky.
Supreme was the ancient one;
None dared waken its wrath.
Until the coming of the Storm.
First came thunder, then came Stone.
The thunder Storm's voice,
The Stone his weapon.
Lightning seared the sky.
The swarm fled from its light.
Stone struck at the heads of the beast.
The shadow bled into land and sky -
Fear and rage that would not die.
Storm's will was done.
Stone's purpose fulfilled.

[The Curse and the Silence]: 49.9, 20.3 Stage 4
For many ages the mogu guarded the great works of the titans. They always listened to their master. Always they were obedient. With stony determination, they stood in ageless vigil.

Even as their master fell silent.

No mogu writings survive from the era when their stone turned to flesh. How terrifying it must have been for the mogu to breathe, to bleed, to die.

They turned to their master for guidance, but still, he was silent.

With flesh came the other curses of mortality: pride and greed, fear and anger. No longer united in purpose, the mogu fought among themselves.

Powerful mogu warlords gathered up followers and made war on one another. Their battles scorched the land, terrifying the other mortal races.

And still, their master said nothing.

{tab = Legacy}

Legacy of Thunder
Lei shen: 40.2, 40.8
Young Lei Shen was the son of a warlord in the era of one hundred kings. Like his brothers, he was strong and mastered the arts of war. But, unlike others of his same generation, he had other interests besides conquest. The legends of his ancestors were engraved on his heart.

When Lei Shen grew up and led his own legions, he announced his intentions to awaken the gods. Only his most loyal followers accompanied him where no other mogu dared to go: to the heart of Thunder Mountain, the sacred home of which the mogu called their master.

Lei Shen climbed the mountain.

But it was the Thunder King who returned.

The sacred mount: 47.0, 59.9
In the days before Lei Shen founded the old empire, there was a plateau surrounded by a perpetual storm. It was called "Thunder Mountain," and it was the ancient throne of which the mogu once called "master."

History does not speak of what Lei Shen found when he climbed the mountain and disappeared into its entrails. But, upon his return, he had the power of a thousand storms and declared that the mountain would be his throne. On its top he built a majestic Forbidden City.

It is rumored that after Lei Shen's death, the mountain did not listen to anyone else and the storm raged furiously. The following emperors moved the throne to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Even during the time of the last pandaren emperor, Shaohao, Thunder Mountain was feared. The world-shattering Cataclysm nearly plunged the mountain under water, but perhaps the last emperor thought it was worth protecting. Or perhaps he feared the mountain's secret and wanted to hide it. Like the rest of Pandaria, the city at the top, now an island, remains hidden in the mist.

The unit has a price: 34.9, 65.5
Armed with the power of storms, the Thunder King rallied his followers and began the systematic conquest of the other mogu warlords. Most did not accept his authority; those who were lucky were vaporized by lightning or crushed by his legions. The others were dragged in chains until the Thunder King deemed they had been "subdued."

But many mogu saw in Lei Shen a definite purpose that had been missed for generations after the silence of their masters. They gathered around the Thunder King's banner. They carried out his orders with passion while enslaving the other races, believing, as Lei Shen believed, that the "lower" races should serve the mogu, just as the mogu had once served their masters.

Lei Shen unified the language, established a single currency, standardized weights and measures, and founded an empire.

For the first time, all the races on earth were united. The Thunder King considered the suffering of these races a small price to pay… a simple weakness of the flesh.

{tab = Profession}

The Zandalari Prophecy
Adulthood: 35.2, 70.1
There is no room for weakness among the Zandalari. Strength, ferocity, endurance, power - these are the traits by which success is measured. Adolescent Zandalari males who have not been chosen to be priests or scholars must demonstrate their strength before the council, the king, and the gods themselves.

Any display of physical might is enough. Tournaments and competitions take place after leaving childhood. Adolescents prepare for years for their tests, commune with the spirits and tattoo symbols of power on their skin. A common ritual is to travel to one of the monster-infested islands near the capital to steal or subdue a wild creature.

The lesser troll races have their own more humble versions of this tradition, but training a ravasaur or raptor has nothing to do with training a devil or direhorn.

[For Council and King]: 68.8, 45.7. Stage 5
Zandalari society has remained an unchanging hierarchy for thousands of years.

Hardworking farmers, fishers, and craftsmen for the peasant caste, the foundation of the empire. Zandalari elders tell them what to harvest, when to plant, and how to behave. To disobey the elders is to disobey the gods, an offense punishable by exile or death.

The Zandalari warrior caste sits above the peasantry, acting as the arms of the Kind and the might of the council. Dexterity is not prized among Zandalari warriors: brute force, backed by ancient magics, is the preferred combat style.

Dictating every aspect of Zandalari society down to the very last detail are the scholars and the priesthood. Masters of magic and communing with the spirits, these respected bastions of knowledge stand upon fifteen millennia worth of accumulated knowledge. The highest of these have a seat on the Zanchuli Council, which both advise the King and ensure his every command is executed upon. The council is consulted before every battle or major decision.

From a golden throne, lording over all the Zandalari, remains the great King Rastakhan.

Empowered by the Zandalari gods themselves to act as their voice, he has ruled for over two hundred years.

The shadow of the loa: 36.4, 70.3
The Zandalari worship the "loa," powerful spirits who have been a part of this world even before the Titans. There are numerous loa, most of them weak, but there are some very powerful. Some are shapeless, others are shaped like animals or creatures.

Zandalari families worship their own family loa, cities have their own divinities, and the most powerful loa are worshiped throughout the nation. The most powerful and enlightened Zandalari can become loa upon death, or so they say.

These spirits are a fundamental piece of the Zandalari world: the Zandalari do as the loa say.

[The Dark Prophet Zul]: 52.7, 41.5. Stage 3
Among the Zanchuli Council are many priests and mages of incredible power and forbidden knowledge. One of the most respected of these is Zul. Even as a child his dark and terrible visions of him had come true down to the last horrifying detail. He commanded fear and respect as one of the dark prophets: seers capable of witnessing great tragedies before they came to pass.

In the months before the Cataclysm, Zul's nightmares were haunted by terrible visions of a world torn asunder. He consulted all the signs and was convinced that the Zandalari homeland would be destroyed in the coming apocalypse. He advised the council and the king to unite with the other troll tribes and to abandon their doomed homeland.

Despite Zul's infamy, the council refused to believe in the scope of the disaster to come. Many felt that Zul was grandstanding to increase his own status and power. They scoffed as he and his followers began assembling a war fleet and reaching out to the lesser troll races.

But Zul's visions were visions of the truth. Deathwing's Cataclysm rocked Zandalar to its foundations. Even now the mighty and enigmatic troll empire slides inexorably into the sea, and Zandalari peasants and warriors alike flock to Zul for guidance on what to do next.
