Welcome to the preview of the encounter with the Hellfire High Council, the fourth encounter of the Hellfire Citadel raid in Patch 6.2 of the PTR.
Meeting lore
After agreeing to drink Mannoroth's blood, these three orcs gained incredible power. Black Deah Rumo, a master of Void magic, is an outcast of the Shadowmoon clan who now serves as Gul'dan's left hand. Gurtogg, proved his worth by winning in hundreds of fights, winning all but one that ended in a draw, against the Steel Master Jubei'thos, now they fight together. The three orcs serve Gul'dan as a council of war.
Hellfire High Council
We are faced with a combat that bears some similarity to the Blackrock Foundry Iron Maidens. In this case, each member of the council has a special attack that they will use when they reach 30% health and they will persist until the end of the encounter.. It is not necessary to lower their lives at the same time as we did with the Maidens since lowering the health to 30% of the orcs does not imply the activation of the abilities of their companions. So we must choose a strategy of order of defeat. In the video that accompanies this article, this order has been used:
Jubei'thos> Gurtogg> Deah
Although I am almost certain that in higher difficulties we will have to change this order, since in Seeker difficulty some skills do not apply. Like Gurtogg's Fel Wrath, with which he will pin a player and for each melee attack he successfully inflicts on him he will gain 10% attack speed. I am very afraid that if he did not finish him soon he would end up delighting the band.
However, this meeting is very fun and with a lot of skills to understand and avoid.
Summary by function
Healers
Deah Black Rumor will apply Mark of the Necromancer on random targets, you must dispel it but with control since doing so will transfer the mark to two additional targets.
Dps
Follow the objective order set by your band to defeat the three orcs and avoid all the skills that we detail in the Important section.
Tanks
You must keep Deah Black Rumor separate from his companions to prevent them from gaining from Void Mist.
Use defensive abilities when Black Deah Rumor uses Nightmare Face.
Important
As we discussed before, this meeting has many skills that we should avoid, below we list the most important and how to avoid them.
Steelmaster Jubei'thos
Quickly defeat Jubei'thos's reflexes when he uses Windwalker.
Upon reaching 30% health, Jubei'thos will unleash Malignant Strike at the middle of the raid, dealing 30.215 damage to them. Fire on its first hit will increase over time. This effect will persist until the end of the encounter.
Deah Black Rumor
The tank that has this killer whale will take a lot of damage from the abilities Void Bolt and Nightmare Face.
Random players will receive Deah's Mark of the Necromancer, this ability deals shadow damage that increases over time, it must be dispelled by the healers before the target dies, when they do the mark will jump to two additional targets. After Deah will use Segar, which will burn the ground under the feet of the marked, you have to quickly get out of those areas.
In its final hour Upon reaching 30% Deah is overwhelmed by the darkness and applies her Mark of Necromancer to the middle of the raid keep him alive, but he will stop using Segar.
Gurtogg Boiling Blood
The tank this orc has will take a lot of damage due to stacks of Acid wound.
With his Vile Wrath ability, Gurtogg will lock down and hunt down a random player, each successful melee attack he inflicts will grant Gurtogg an additional 10% attack speed.
Gurtogg will also perform his Demolishing Jump, creating a brown area on the ground from which we must move away so that the damage received is less.
In his final hour, upon reaching 30%, Gurtogg will use Corrupted Blood on all players, subtracting 5% of the maximum health from the entire raid per stack. This effect stacks and persists until the end of the encounter.
