Convert: Imperial Vizier Zor'lok uses the pure voice of the Empress to change a player's allegiance, causing them to fight for the mantid empire. Convert lasts until the victim reaches 50% health, but the effect can end whenever the victim takes spell damage. The chance of it running out increases as the victim approaches 50% health.
-
Phase 2: We will not disappoint her:
When Imperial Vizier Zor'lok's health reaches 40%, he flies to the center of the chamber and inhales the Zeal Pheromones. So Imperial Vizier Zor'lok uses all of his abilities from phase 1.
-

Every time Imperial Vizier Zor'lok completes a transition, he raises his voice in honor of the Empress. If you do not engage in close combat with Imperial Vizier Zor'lok, he will deal physical damage to all players in the area until they die. Engaging in close combat with Imperial Vizier Zor'lok cancels the effect. -
Echoes of power:
On Heroic Difficulty, Imperial Vizier Zor'lok leaves copies of himself on the first two platforms he goes to. During the second phase of the encounter, he randomly summons Echoes of Power to aid him in combat. Echoes of Power inherit one of Imperial Vizier Zor'lok's abilities and use that power until they are defeated.
-
Attenuation Echoes: Zor'lok's uses Damping to take on melee players.
-
Echoes of Force and reverb: Zor'lok's uses Force and reverb to take on melee players.
-
Song of the Empress: Any of its copies uses the Song of the Empress at any time.
Strategy
Combat overview
The encounter against the Imperial Vizier Zor'lok (hereinafter simply as Zor'lok ) is a two-phase fight.
- During the Phase Uno , the raid will have to fight Zor'lok in three raised platforms what is in the living room. He will always move to any of the three platforms (flying to a new platform each time it is removed 20% life), but the order in which he does it is random. On each platform, Zor'lok will use a capacity extra specific to that platform. Also, at ground level, the room will be filled with
Zeal pheromones, gas that silences / damages the raid and that they will have to traverse to follow Zor'lok to a new platform
- When Zor'lok health reaches the 40% , enter the phase Two . It will fly to the center of the room, absorb all the gas to increase its damage, and push everyone to its location. Throughout this phase, Zor'lok will continue to use all the abilities that were previously granted to him while standing on each platform.
The enrage for the encounter is 6 minutes, and this constitutes one of the biggest challenges that the raid will have to overcome. There is no need for a second tank, allowing for extra DPS to be used, thus increasing damage.
Basic Skills (used throughout combat)
Zor'lok has some abilities that he uses throughout the fight, regardless of the phase.
{tab = Inhale and Exhale}
Inhale and exhale
They are two complementary abilities that Zor'lok uses often. Exhale is a damaging ability and Inhale is an auto-buff that Zor'lok stacks on himself to increase Exhale's damage.
How to Stack Inhale
Inhale is thrown once or twice between each throw of
Exhale. Each time Inhale is cast, it increases the damage of Exhale by 50%. Inhale's cast lasts 2 seconds and cannot be interrupted.
Exhale is thrown whenever there are 3 or more stacks of
Inhale on Zor'lok, and the Inhale stacks are removed.
As you can see, you have no control over the number of stacks of
Inhale that Zor'lok will have. You simply have to be aware of the fact that some releases of
Exhale (with 3 or 4 stacks of Inhale) will deal more damage than others (with 1 or 2 stacks of Inhale)
How Exhale works
Exhale is a Zor'lok channeled spell that targets a random raid member. A bolt is fired at the target, dealing damage every 0,5 seconds, and stunning them. If a player intercepts the beam (that is, it moves between Zor'lok and the targeted raid member), then Exhale no longer affects its target, dealing reduced damage to the intercepting player instead.
{tab = Song}
Song of the Empress
Song of the Empress is an ability that Zor'lok uses to damage the raid if there are no players within its melee range. This ability forces the raid to be attacking Zor'lok on the platform he is on.
{tab = Basic Skills}
Deal with basic skills
Exhale they can be easily treated if it is the tank that intercepts the beam. The damage dealt by this ability is relatively low, and Zor'lok will not deal melee damage during this time.
The only concern is that melee players, who are targeted, should move slightly away from the boss so that the tank can properly get between them and Zor'lok.
Dealing with
Song of the Empress it simply consists of the raid moving to the new Zor'lok platform as soon as possible. This will require you to move around the center of the room, where you will receive the damage from
Skills like
Stampede roar they are very useful for this task. This is not a major concern, as it is perfectly possible that the raid will reach Zor'lok's new location before it even begins channeling Song of the Empress.
{/ Tabs}
Phase one
As we have explained in the summary, the phase Uno lasts until Zor'lok reaches 40% health. During this phase, Zor'lok will go to each of the three platforms in the room, each time 20% of his life is taken from him (at least 80% and 60%). The order is random, but it will always go to all 3 platforms (i.e. it will never go to the same platform twice). On each platform, Zor'lok uses a specific ability that the raid will have to deal with, as explained in the following sections.
When moving to a new platform, you will have to go through
Zeal pheromones, the gas that covers the floor of the room that damages / silences. This is merely a source of occasional damage and a silence that the raid needs to be aware of, but shouldn't pose a problem.
{tab = Northeast}
Platform: Attenuation
When he is on the northeast platform (located on the left side of the room where you fight Zor'lok), you will have to deal with
Attenuation, which Zor'lok uses in addition to his core abilities.
attenuation
Attenuation is a channeled spell that Zor'lok casts approximately every 45 seconds. For 9 seconds, Zor'lok sends many disks out of himself, in random directions. The discs move at a moderate speed across the ground, doing a great deal of physical damage to anyone who comes in contact with them.
Strategy
The strategy for this phase is extremely simple. When
Attenuation is launched, the gang members must move to avoid being hit by the disks sent by Zor'lok.
Even though the discs do great damage, a player can survive multiple disc damage without the need for healing.
Since both Attenuation and
Exhale They are channeled spells, they will never be cast at the same time, greatly reducing any difficulty of the phase.
{tab = Southeast}
Platform: Convert
When he's on the south-east platform (found at the back of the room where you fight Zor'lok), you'll have to deal with
Convert, which Zor'lok will use, in addition to his basic abilities.
Convert
Convert is a mind control that Zor'lok launches on a random raid player approximately every 60 seconds. Convert affects 1 player into 10-players, and 5 players into 25-players. Sometimes Convert affects 2 players into 10-players, but we are not sure what the reason for this is.
To break mind control, the mind controlled player must be damaged up to 50% of their maximum health. However, each attack made on the player, has a chance to instantly break the mind control. This break chance increases the closer to 50% health the player is.
Strategy
The strategy for this phase is simply to free the mind-controlled player quickly. There is absolutely no complexity.
Healers must be ready to dispel debuffs that the controlled player can inflict on the raid, or that raid members inadvertently apply to the controlled player when attacking.
{tab = Southwest}
Platform: Strength and Reverb
When he's on the south-west platform (found on the right side of the room where you fight Zor'lok), you'll have to deal with
Strength and reverb, which Zor'lok will use, in addition to his basic abilities.
Strength and reverb
Every 45 seconds, Zor'lok will channel
Strength and reverb for 10 seconds. This deals a large amount of raid damage every second.
Fortunately, immediately before emitting the Force and reverb, Zor'lok will create 3 shields on the ground near him, which the raid can use to protect themselves. Being under one of these shields reduces damage taken from the Force and reverb by 40%.
Strategy
Whenever Zor'lok creates the Protection Shields, you will have a few seconds to move underneath them before channeling
Strength and reverb begin. Not doing this right will mean taking a lot of damage.
Each shield can only protect a limited number of players: 4 on the 10-player raids and 9 on the 25-player raids. Additional players who get under the shield simply will not receive their protection.
Due to the limitation mentioned above, and the fact that shield drops are to random locations, it is difficult to assign people to a specific shield ahead of time. Instead, you should designate three groups of players, and assign a leader for each group. Then it is enough for these leaders to quickly decide which shield to go to, and for the other members to follow the leader of their group.
Since Force and Reverb is a channeled spell, Zor'lok will not attack melee during this time. Still, the force and reverb damage is quite high, even to players with shield protection, so healers will have to be prepared for this.
{/ Tabs}
Phase two
At 40% health, Zor'lok will fly above the center of the room, absorbing all
Zeal pheromones. This grants you a buff that increases your damage dealt by 10%, and haste by 20%, until the end of the fight.
Shortly after this, he will push the entire gang to his location.
Skills
During this phase, Zor'lok will use all the abilities of phase one. Fortunately for the raid, you will never have to deal with
Strength and reverb at the same time, both being channeled.
Strategy
The strategy for this phase is simply to execute the tasks that have been practiced in the previous phase.
The center of the room is much wider than the platforms, so the raid can be spread out further to prevent the discs from
Attenuation. You must be careful, however, that no raid members are too far away to protect themselves on the protection shields in time.
When to use Heroism / Bloodlust / Time Warp
We recommend using
Temporal Distortion during phase one, as this is by far the most intense and complex phase of the match.
Learning combat
If the raid needs more practice on a specific platform, then it is possible, during an attempt to stop attacking the boss once the platform is reached. Learning to deal with boss skills is much easier when players are not distracted from performing their role. DPS make fewer mistakes and take less damage, making it easier for healers, causing them to focus more on the boss's abilities.
Phase two is a combination of all the scenarios of the Phase Uno . Although the gang members already know how to deal with all the skills separately, they will most likely have to deal with them at the same time (although
Attenuation and
Strength and reverb don't take place at the same time) is going to be a bit confusing. In this case, the raid can also stop attacking the boss and have players instead focus on avoiding the boss's abilities, until they make no mistakes.
Remember that learning something in steps is always easier than trying than learning it all at once.
Final remarks
This concludes our Imperial Vizier Zor'lok raid guide. We hope you found it useful. Please don't hesitate to post any comments you may have.
