During the afternoon of yesterday the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2016 was held, which lasted just over an hour and in which Blizzard took the opportunity to launch many new features. It is true that World of Warcraft did not have much presence in the opening ceremony but this remain attentive, that will come out in the meantime let's see the rest of the news.
Opening ceremony
During the opening ceremony presented by Mike Morhaime, Blizzard takes the opportunity to thank all the players and fans of the campaign, for having been there during these years and having seen the world of video games change; they show us a commemorative video.
The BlizzCon Opening Ceremony has brought us a number of firsts for Blizzard games. The two big news or the most anticipated by players have been the presentation of Sombra, the new Overwatch character, and the announcement of the Necromancer, a new class for Diablo III. This news was released right at the end of the opening ceremony, almost in injury time, perhaps precisely because they knew it was something highly anticipated.
World of Warcraft
The time spent on our favorite game during the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2016 has not been too surprising, since we were the center of attention last year and now it is the turn of other games. Introducing Varian Wrym and Ragnaros as new Nexus characters.
Varian is the first multiclass hero of Heroes of the StormBe the shield your team needs, taunting enemies and absorbing massive amounts of damage, or go on the offensive to crush anyone who dares stand in your way with your blades. Ragnaros can take control of strong allies or strong destroyed enemies to unlock a whole new set of fiery abilities.
Hearthstone
Introducing the next Hearthstone expansion, Gadgetzan Mafias.
Add 132 new cards to your collection and create new strategies based on the three infamous Mafia families that rule the streets of Gadgetzan: the arms dealers called the Grimy Thugs, the Jade Lotus Assassins, and the Mana Eaters of the Kabal.
Diablo III
Announced update for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls and the arrival of a new class, the Necromancer. Diablo celebrates his 20th anniversary by returning to the depths of the cathedral where it all began. It will have a new 16-level dungeon and you will have to face the 4 main bosses from the original game.
The Awakening of the Necromancer Pack, coming in 2017, will allow you to master the dark arts, draw your magic from the power of death itself, and command impressive armies of resurrected warriors… Oh, and also explode corpses.
