01/06 - Live server fixes for Patch 4.1

A few days ago some live fixes were applied to the server for Patch 4.1 that we missed posting and here they are. Perhaps the most important are those that affect the goblins and some rather curious bug fixes.

  • Classes
    • Stationary ground effects should no longer move with the character casting the spell when he moves (or is moved) from his current position.
    • Witches
      • Players can no longer keep the benefit of the missing Enhanced Demon Tactics talent under specific circumstances.
      • Glyph of Imp should not increase the spell damage of all Warlock pets by 20%.
  • Dungeons and Raids
    • Blackwing Descent
      • Maloriak now prefers to cast Flash Freeze on caster targets that are more than 15 yards away. It does not target characters with tank functions, but Flash Freeze can be chained to them. If all the characters in the raid are grouped within 15 yards of the boss, Hasty Freeze will be able to hit them.
    • Throne of the Tides
      • Killing Unstable Corruptions on Normal difficulty now grants significantly less experience.
    • Zul'Gurub
      • Shadows of Hakkar can no longer be reflected or deflected.
  • Careers
    • Archeology
      • The Overflowing Bags guild perk should no longer sometimes incorrectly award multiple keystones from excavations to archaeologists.
    • Skinning
      • Players no longer continue to gain skinning skill points when using low-level creatures below the desired skill threshold.
  • PvP
    • Arenas
      • The quest value displayed at the end of an arena match should no longer be able to be incorrect under certain conditions.
    • Battlefields
      • Several changes have been made to the queues for battlegrounds to improve the flow of those queuing for random battlegrounds versus those queuing for specific battlegrounds.
      • Removed the ability for players to hold a second queue for one battlefield after they have already entered another. Previously, players could queue for two battlefields, let one of them jump, and stay in the second queue while deciding if they wanted to join the one that was already ready. This is no longer possible. When a battlefield queue ends, players will automatically be pulled out of the other active queues. To queue for another battlefield you will have to end the game and join the queue again. This fixes a design issue in the old system, which allowed players to abandon their teammates if things didn't go as well as they expected; and it also resolves some inconsistencies in the queuing system that were emerging as a side effect of the old system's operating mode.
  • Breeds
    • The Best Market Prices goblin racial trait should now only apply to vendors with associated reputations. It is no longer incorrectly applied to sellers without an associated reputation, nor is it applied to flight path costs. (Note: updating the flight route costs requires a patch on the client side and now they do not reflect this racial change). Additionally, goblin characters exalted with their guilds can no longer receive an additional discount to the exalted faction discount from guild vendors.
  • Missions and creatures
    • Gilneas
      • Genn Greymane should now always correctly enter the Battle for Gilneas City, ensuring that the event will no longer crash during the final phase on some occasions.
