Raid Dungeons in Patch 3.3

When I read yesterday the text that accompanied the presentation of the new raid dungeon: Icecrown Citadel: The Frozen Throne, there was one thing that caught my attention but I did not think that would have much impact. In particular I am referring to the paragraph that says:

You can perform each of these in normal or heroic mode and players will have access to a new interface feature to change the difficulty without complications.

I just thought they would improve the difficulty setting interface which can get a bit confusing right now. It seems that no, it does not stay here. Bornakk clarifies for us a bit, how Icecrown will work.

User: I don't think there will be 4 versions of the same dungeon. It is not 100% clear but it seems to me that you will be able to switch between normal mode and hard mode on the fly. Similar to Ulduar, where you can do Flame Leviathan in normal version but do Screwdriver in hard mode but with a "button" on the Interface rather than with the game mechanics.
bornakk: You are correct, at least how we currently want to do it (may still change!) - the plan is for 2 band IDs, not 4.

Assuming everything goes according to plan, you can switch between normal and hard as much as you like. First encounter in difficult, second in normal, third in difficult, 4 in normal, etc.
Indeed, it works in a similar way to Ulduar but it is a much clearer method in the Interface as opposed to the confusing process of understanding some mechanics of the game to activate it.

I have no idea if these changes are retroactive, that is, if they will apply to the Colosseum of the Crusaders.

The idea seems very, very successful to me. I certainly think it will empower some guilds to try hard modes, and who knows? they may be in for a surprise. I think it's much easier to say, let's try doing this in hard mode, let's go into the The Test of Spruce Crossed.
