Guilds Finder Patch 4.1 Official Preview

Blizzard has released specific details about the Guild Search system that will be implemented in the Patch 4.1. This feature has been testing in the Public Test Realms for almost two months now and I'm sure if you've been attentive to the web, we will not tell you too many new things.

You can see the full trailer for Blizzard after the jump with more information and screenshots.

For those of you who keep asking, Patch 4.1 is expected to appear next week on the official servers.

In Patch 4.1 we are including Guild Finder, a new system designed to allow for faster and easier guild recruits. Guild Masters and players looking for a guild to feel at home in will use the Guild Finder to find themselves and open conversations that can lead to a thriving membership.

Guild Finder's mission is to act as an in-game notice board for guilds looking to recruit members. Until now, in World of Warcraft, you had limited options. You had to post in public in your kingdom's forum or speak to other players directly through private messages or the other chat channels. That process can take time. The Guild Finder will allow your "looking for new members" message to work 24 hours a day and for all characters in your faction to access it from anywhere in the game.

A new guild finder button will now appear in your little menu if you are a guild master or if you currently have no guild.

As a guild master, you will indicate one or more of the guild's common interests (such as PvP, raiding, or role playing), what time of the week you usually play (weekdays or weekends), and what class roles you seek on new members (tank, healer, damage). In the Comment field you can say what you want about your brotherhood and / or the type of members you are looking for. Do you only accept female orcs? Is your sorority slowly transitioning from the 10-person to the 25-person gangs? Do you only accept new members who are available to play on Thursdays at midnight? This is the place to do it and to help prospective newcomers decide if your sorority is what they are looking for.

From the perspective of a non-Guild player, Guild Finder allows you to browse a list of all Guilds currently seeking new members. All you need to do is open the Guild Finder, define your availability, your class role, and the type of Guild Activities you are looking for, and then click "View Guilds." This will take you to the second tab, where you will see the list of guilds looking for new members that match your profile. Here you can read about them and submit a request to join if you like what you see.

Requests sent to sororities looking for members will appear on the Requests tab. In this tab, Guild Masters can study possible additions and make the final arrangements for the new affiliation.

Whether you're a Guildmaster looking to join your ranks or a player looking for a Guild that meets your strictest requirements, Guild Finder will help you make new friends!
