FAQ: Refund of items

Some days ago we already commented the refund system that will arrive in Patch 3.1 and today, again, Draztal gives us a little more information about this new system with a series of questions and answers.

This feature promises a lot and I hope it works without a hitch

With the arrival of patch 3.1, we will have many incredible changes in World of Warcraft. Among some of them are changes made to the way alternate currency purchases work.

You are probably familiar with alternative currencies - such as Marks of Honor, Arena Points, Emblems of Valor,… all of them are considered “Alternative Currency”. In the past, if you accidentally bought an item, the only way to correct the failure was by contacting a Game Master.

Fortunately, with the arrival of patch 3.1, this will change a bit, and you will have new possibilities when you make a purchase. We have also added different options to be able to solve any problem when you buy an object by mistake.

    - Items purchased using an alternate currency can normally be exchanged for their cost, during the first 2 hours of play (time should only count while you are online).
    - Objects with the possibility of reimbursement (visible in the purchase window) can be returned to may be made by each seller by "right clicking" on the item with the seller window open (as if you were selling the item to the seller).

Some items may not be able to be reimbursed when returned to a seller, so it is best to continue to be very careful:

    - Cumulative objects (frozen orbs, gems,…) are not eligible to be reimbursed through this system.
    - Items that award achievements when purchased are not eligible to be reimbursed through this system.

Also keep in mind that any enchantment, gem or effect that the item has No. It will be recovered if you return it to the seller during the 2 hours of time.

Remember! These changes being very useful, they reflect a change in the way we want to approach the restoration of objects purchased with Alternative Currency. For approximately 30 days after this change takes effect, we will continue to consider refund requests for these items in an effort to give you the opportunity to adjust to the new system. Please bear in mind that with this new system, control and responsibility rests in your hands and that we will interfere in a limited way after this period.

FAQ - New alternative currency system:

Q: What happens if I go past the Arena or Honor point limit when it comes to refunding the item?
    R:
This system does not allow you to exceed the point limit. If you try to return the purchased item that would cause excess points, you will earn enough points until you reach the maximum, but all points that exceed the maximum will be lost with no possibility of recovery. Fortunately there is a confirmation dialog that will appear when you try to sell the item, informing you of the number of points you will lose if you go ahead. Please note that Game Masters will not be able to help you recover these points.

Q: I have spent 20 Emblems of Valor to purchase 20 Emblems of Heroism. Can I change Emblems of Heroism back to Emblems of Valor?
    R:
Unfortunately, some items, which are stackable like emblems, cannot be refunded with this system.

Q: I just bought the Black War Mammoth for 300 Stone Watcher Shards, but I can't return it. What happens?
    R:
Some items, like the Black War Mammoth, give you an achievement when you buy them. If an item gives an achievement when you buy it, you won't be able to return it to the seller. Also, Game Masters won't get a chance to help out with these types of purchases either, so it's best to be careful!

Q: How far does this system go? If I use emblems when buying a "piece of armor," then I spend that same piece on buying an item. What happens if I try to reimburse the cost of the item?
    R:
You would get your armor piece back (provided the item allows it), but you won't be able to return that armor piece later for emblems. It is a “one-step” option.

Q: The 2 hour refund period is over. Can I still sell the item to a seller?
    R:
No, after the 2-hour (game) period expires, the vendors will not allow you to sell the item to them. Our team of Game Masters will continue to be able to help if you contact us soon, but please keep in mind that these types of actions are considered the last option and continued requests for refunds have a great chance of being denied. Therefore the best way to solve it would be by yourself during the 2 hours of refund option that you have after purchasing the item.

Q: I don't see the information about the return period in the item description. What I can do?!
    R:
Some items that cannot be returned do not show the return period, or the period may have expired. If you just bought an object with an alternate currency, and you are not sure if that object should show the return time, then it would be a good idea to try resetting your interface options and deactivating the "Addons", since it is possible that are interfering with the timer.
