Live fixes for Dungeon Finder and kickbacks on the way

Together with new live fixes To the Server, Blizzard plans to apply a number of fixes to the dungeon finder and the vote-to-kick tools. Draztal, has published a message on the forums, detailing all the changes, which will require a restart of the servers. That is, we will see them next Wednesday unless (Elune does not want it) we have to restart the servers first.

This really sounds like good news to me although personally I have never encountered too many problems when it comes to finding a party and completing a dungeon but I guess for the problems these changes are more than welcome.

We are doing some live fixes to accommodate the use of the dungeon finder and the kick option. The following live fixes will require the realms to be reset to take effect, which will likely occur during weekly maintenance next Wednesday.

  • Players who are out of a dungeon for more than 3 minutes can now be kicked immediately.
  • If you queue up as a group with a tank or healer and the tank or healer leaves the group (or is kicked out) shortly after joining, those who were queuing with them will also be kicked out of the dungeon.
  • If three or more players are queuing as a group together, it will take an additional vote for them to kick someone they weren't queuing with as a group.
  • If a queue group of 4 kicks out the only person they have not queued with as a group, each of the members will receive a more severe penalty for their ability to initiate future kickouts.
  • If someone initiates the kick-out of someone you've queued with as a group, they won't have any penalty for their ability to initiate future kick-outs.
  • With these changes we hope to reduce some unwanted behaviors and annoyances, and encourage patience when using the dungeon finder. In addition, it must be borne in mind that both initiating and accepting an expulsion have always had the same effect on the ability to carry out future expulsions. Save your banning vote for when it matters.

Of course, we will be watching how these changes develop and we will always welcome your comments.
