Temple changes in Arena Season 8

As already announced in the questions and answers on Twitter, a change to the Temple is approaching which, in principle, will be for Season 8 but will test how it works for the PvP scenario in Cataclysm.

We are in the process of applying a correction that will significantly improve the temper. Although some changes may be made, we plan to keep this enhancement active for the remainder of the expansion. Wrath of the lich king.

The change doubles the value of Resilience by reducing damage dealt by players. So depending on the current amount of Resilience, characters can experience a 10-20% reduction in damage taken from other players. Resilience's critical strike chance and critical strike damage reduction are not affected by this change.

We are also aware of the possibility that this change will make healing in PvP very difficult to counter. While we're not making any immediate changes to correct that, we do have additional changes in place that would allow us to apply an exclusive PvP tweak for healing if we think it's necessary.

We will be making this change very soon as we move between Arena seasons so that we can better assess how it works in various PvP situations for the upcoming season and as we continue to prepare for Cataclysm. As we have mentioned previously, one of the objectives of Cataclysm is having a PvP environment where it is more difficult to frequently get that much damage and heal on a few TRGs compared to what we have in the game now.

Hopefully it gets interesting next season.
