Explaining the new Cataclysm Glyphs interface

In the latest version of the Beta, the 12857 (I have had a deja vu) the Glyphs interface. There was a lot of talk about the Glyphs during the Q&A on Twitter or in individual posts on the forums and we had a vague idea of what was going to happen: Glyphs could be learned. Now that they are implemented, I thought (sometimes I do) what better way to show it than in a video? (I'm getting the taste).

And here you have it. I recommend that you watch it in High definition so that you can better appreciate the details.

I hope you liked it. After the jump I put down the transcript.

Hello everyone, I am Belelros, and in this video I am going to try to show you the new Glyphs interface that comes in Cataclysm, and the new system that comes with it.

To access the glyph panel we need to open our talents panel and, from there, select the Glyphs tab at the bottom.

As you can see, the interface has been divided in two. On one side are the glyphs learned and to be learned and on the other our glyph book. We now have 9 glyph slots available.

In the outer circle we have the Primordial Glyphs. In the next circle we have the Sublime glyphs and finally, in the innermost circle are the minor glyphs.

Now, I'm going to show you the new panel that appears to the right of the book. We are going to hide the entire list so that it is better appreciated.

By clicking on each of these buttons, we will display the corresponding glyph list. As you can see, there is one Glyph as active and the rest are off. This is because we haven't learned them yet. One of the most important novelties of the glyphs is that once we learn them we can use them whenever we want without having to buy them again.

If you look closely, the glyph we just learned is already active.

Adding a glyph to our book is very simple. By checking it, we see the corresponding glyph type light up. We release it on the hole and after a short period, we will have it added and activated.

We are going to add some more of all types so you can see how simple it is.

Meanwhile, I am going to explain to you how the developers have designed the different types of glyphs.

Primordial Glyphs will not be the type of Glyphs to change your rotation. The idea is that these Glyphs increase our DPS, Healing, etc. clearly and that everyone can go to any guide to see what 3 to choose.

The sublime ones on the other hand are more interesting since they do not increase our DPS or they do it in a way that is difficult to measure. The intention is for players to think more about what kind of sublimes to choose and, with this new system, to switch between them more often.

Minors are just glyphs for fun.

Generally speaking, the glyphs are not meant to change the rotations as the developers think it was a bug in Lich King. Talents affect rotations while Glyphs give a bit of customization and more power.

An interesting feature of this new system is the ability to filter by name. If we search for Penguin, the corresponding minor Glyph will appear.

Deleting a glyph is very simple, we will only have to right click on the hole that we want to delete, we click yes and it will have already been deleted. Since it is a Beta, it is necessary to reload the interface for the change to be seen.

It only remains to be seen what Blizzard does to profitability the profession. There has been talk of books that improve a profession point for each charge which could be a solution.

So far the video, I hope you liked it and that it has helped you understand this new interface. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel if you don't want to miss any video.

Byeoooooooooooooss

It has been edited to change the video for Audio problems.
