Elemental Restlessness
As earthquakes strike and the very foundations of Azeroth become increasingly unstable, key members of the Horde and Alliance have begun gathering in Orgrimmar and Stormwind to investigate the cause of these disturbances. The unleashed elementals are terrorizing the inhabitants of Azeroth, and it has become apparent that a malevolent presence is threatening to split the land. Strange suspects have headed to the Horde and Alliance capitals to offer an explanation of recent events to terrified citizens. A secret: everything is destruction and darkness.
The events leading up to Cataclysm are in progress, and the disturbances will only grow more severe as the weeks go by. Pay attention to your Faction Leaders, Thrall and Varian, and stay tuned for unfamiliar faces gathering on the streets of the city. This unique event series also includes several new missions and multiple phases of dark events - don't let your guard down!
Patch 4.0.3
This patch will contain the final preparations for the Cataclysm launch, including the new login screen and official cutscenes. The devastation of Azeroth will take place sometime after patch 4.0.3.
The devastation
Shortly before December 7, Azeroth will change forever. Deathwing will emerge from the Elemental Plane, bringing with him the Devastation of the world and scorching everyone and everything in his path. The events leading up to the launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will reach their climax, and the citizens of Azeroth will face the destruction they have long feared.
