Deleted Faculties - Part 1

Collection cover of eliminated faculties

Hey good! How are you doing? Today I want to bring you a small compilation of the faculties eliminated from World of Warcraft, including some very recent and others belonging to Vanilla. Without further ado ... let's go to the compilation!

Faculties removed

As you already know from the number of compilations that we have uploaded to GuíasWoW, I, personally, love compilations, whether they are of current systems, objects, mounts... Any title you can imagine, I will upload sooner or later. Today, as I remembered one of my favorite abilities that was active only in this expansion, I want to bring you a compilation of the abilities that have been removed from the game. Some will be from the first versions of World of Warcraft, but others you can even remember since it hasn't been that long since they were removed.

Some of the following abilities were removed for the simple fact that they were useless or of little use. Others, on the other hand, just the opposite.

Claws of Shirvallah

Sableron Shirvallah Claws Removed Abilities

Although I was personally one of the few players who liked this druidic form, a large percentage of players complained on the forums about the introduction of this talent. Even if it wasn't a "big deal," the ability allowed you to use all Druid abilities in cat form. It is a good ability for PvP, also changing the appearance of your cat form to a humanoid. As I said, I liked this form but apparently people were complaining that it was not correct to add such a form because of what it takes to be a druid, referring to its history and style. The way I see it, they are right. They pulled this shape out of their sleeve, things as they are… but, even so, I liked it.

Be that as it may, this ability was only available during the World of Warcraft Warlords of Draenor expansion as a level 100 talent for druids, for the feral specialization only. To my surprise, when I went to look for the college, it didn't show up in almost any database. They are usually left even if they are not implemented in the game, but this time, I did not find a trace of the ability. Anyway, here I will leave you the description of the faculty:

Forsaken Druids have developed the ability to change their form, taking on that of a half-man, half-cat creature. This alternate feline form allows you to use all of the druid's spells that do not deal damage when you have changed forms and increases Versatility by 5%.

Have we learned nothing from the Scythe of Elune?
- –Archidruid Hamuul Rune Totem

Although I am not very supportive of this ability for what it represents, if it is true that I would like to see it again, either as an allied race of the Worgen. I leave it there!

Symbiosis

In order not to get out of the way of the druids and put it at the end of this article, Symbiosis is one of the abilities that I miss most in the entire game. Although it may seem silly, this ability allowed the Druid and its target to exchange an ability, thus having the ability to use it.

It allows the caster and the friendly target that is part of the party or raid to mutually benefit by exchanging one of their abilities. Depending on the caster's specialization, the abilities the friendly target receives will differ, and vice versa. This effect lasts until the caster dies, disconnects, or the party or raid they belong to is disbanded.

The faculties obtained by those we selected were the following:

Sorcerer All specializations-> Rejuvenation

Death Knight  Frost and Unholy -> Wild Mushroom: Plague // Blood -> Force of Ursoc

Hunter All your specializations -> Carrerilla

Chaman Elemental and Enhancement -> Solar Beam // Restoration -> Stalk

Guerrero Weapons and Fury -> Stampede Roar // Protection -> Frenzied Regeneration

Wizard All your specializations -> Healing Touch

Monk Brewmaster -> Wild Defense // Windwalker -> Bear's Embrace // Mistweaver -> Entangling Roots

Paladin Holy -> Reborn // Protection -> Barkskin // Retribution -> Wrath

Rogue All Your Specializations -> Bellow

Priest Discipline and Holy -> Entangling Roots // Shadows -> Tranquility

The powers that we obtained from them were the following:

Sorcerer Balance -> Barkskin // Feral -> Soul Swap // Guardian -> Life Transfusion // Restoration -> Demonic Circle

Death Knight Balance -> Anti-Magic Shell // Feral -> Death Coil // Guardian -> Bone Shield // Restoration -> Icebound Fortitude

Hunter Balance -> Redirection // Feral -> Feign Death // Guardian -> Ice Trap // Restoration -> Deterrence

Chaman Balance -> Purge // Feral -> Feral Spirit // Guardian -> Lightning Shield // Restoration -> Spiritwalker Grace

Guerrero Balance -> Intervene // Feral -> Shattering Blow // Guardian -> Spell Reflection // Restoration -> Intimidating Scream

Wizard Balance -> Mirror Image // Feral -> Frost Nova // Guardian -> Frost Ward // Restoration -> Ice Block

Paladin Balance -> Hammer of Justice // Feral -> Divine Shield // Guardian -> Consecration // Restoration -> Cleanse

Rogue Balance -> Shadow Cloak // Feral -> Redirect // Guardian -> Feint // Restoration -> Evasion

Priest Balance -> Mass Dissipation // Feral -> Dispersion // Guardian -> Ward of Fear // Restoration -> Leap of Faith

As we can see, this faculty was quite complete and has a large number of changes between both classes and specializations. Some of them will serve for a later compilation of faculties.

Symbiosis was an ability that was only available in the World of Warcraft Mist of Pandaria expansion.

Create Fire Stone / Create Spell Stone

Although one of the two abilities may be misleading due to its recent implementation as an Honor Talent in Legion, it existed previously but was removed as having no significant utility. This ability was an active with which you created an equippable item that lasted about 30 minutes and gave you specific bonuses:

Create Firestone

You create a minor fire stone that can be equipped. When equipped you enchant your character's primary weapon with fire, guaranteeing a chance to inflict xp. fire damage to your target. Therefore equipping this item will increase the damage of your abilities. This type of conjured item disappears after being disconnected for more than 15 minutes.

Create spell stone

You create a spell stone that can be equipped. When equipped, this item will dispel all of the caster's damaging magic effects. Also, it will increase by x p. the critical hit chance. This type of conjured item disappears after being disconnected for more than 15 minutes.

Both abilities did not grant a lot of percentage and, having to cast an object to equip it later ... it did not quite match. This is why it was removed in Mist of Pandaria.

Detect magic

If the faculty from before was useless, this can be even more so ... or depending on how you look at it. Detecting magic can be considered as a useless ability since, in the past when a player wanted to see the benefits that a target had (whether it was a player or an NPC), they could not unless it was a magician. I explain. Previously, the only players who could be able to see the benefits of a target were wizards when using this ability.

Detect the target's magical benefits for 2 minutes.

Although at first and, as I have already emphasized, it may seem somewhat useless, the truth is that it was a bit unfair that only magicians had this ability. Obviously wizards had to use Detect Magic before trying to steal a magic buff from them.

And so far the first compilation of eliminated faculties. If you are one of the few players who liked the look of Shirvallah, know that I am with you but calm down, I want you to have hope for the next thing I will tell you. Blizzard is probably thinking of adding an allied race for each and every playable character in World of Warcraft and, taking into account that for the Worgen the only available option is the saberons ... The data on which I base it is very simple, at BlizzCon 2017 we got to see some little foxes that had the skeleton of the Goblin. I leave it there!

We hope you liked this short compilation and that you have enjoyed it. As we always say, thank you for getting here and, if it is not too much trouble, we hope to read your answers to the following questions:

  • Were you a supporter of the removal of the Shirvallah aspect or not? Was the philosophy that you followed regarding his withdrawal because it breaks with the history of the Druids or, on the contrary, because you did not like the appearance?
  • Do you think that some of these abilities may return in the future as if we have seen some that have appeared in Legion as talents of honor?
  • Do you think that the decision to drastically reduce the number of faculties was a good option or did you like it better as it was before? You know, with two hundred skills on the action bars.
  • If we were in the event that Blizzard confirmed that they are going to make an ally for all races, what do you think they would add to their history? Removing the ones we already know, of course.

We wish you a good day and look forward to reading your responses. A big (> ^. ^)> Hug <(^. ^ <)!
