Mines of Death is one of those iconic dungeons that, at least for the Alliance, has a special aftertaste. It is the first dungeon that I personally visited and I was in awe and perhaps it was one of the things that irretrievably got me hooked on this game.
Going into a cavern and seeing a ship after all is simply epic for someone who is just starting to play.
Lots of gamers jokingly created a move that asked Blizzard for some Heroic Deathmines and during BlizzCon 09 with the announcement of Cataclysm, they surprised us with the announcement of Heroic Mines of Death and Darkfang Castle.
