Diving through the forums: wave of bans for use of bots

A few hours ago in the official forum in Spanish Arendelium, community manager of World of Warcraft, informed the community of the application of bans for the use of bots. The measure has been massive and forceful, provoking all kinds of responses in the community.

Massive bots bans of up to 6 months

Just a few hours ago, scores of World of Warcraft players in Europe and America found their account locked without warning when trying to access the game. Many advance groups and raiders in general have been surprised to see that members of their team have not been able to attend due to account bans.

In the Spanish World of Warcraft forum, Arendelium communicated the latest Blizzard measures to the community. According to official information, measures have been taken with a large number of accounts for the use of third-party programs in order to automate the game, commonly called "bots."

The measures applied are bans that prevent the total use of the account for a certain period of time up to 6 months. The use of bots violates the Terms of Use that every player accepts and confirms that they have read. Blizzard may therefore take appropriate action against players who violate the Terms of Use in order to remain committed to providing fair and equal play for all.

Undoubtedly the applied bans have caused a massive reaction in the forums, no wonder, since the measure has been applied to all of Europe and America, and from what seems to be the number of affected is considerable.

Blizzard does not apply these measures lightly. Applying bans of this magnitude comes with the responsibility of carefully and repeatedly analyzing the evidence and indications that prove (or not) the use of bots. A day ago Arendelium himself answered in this post to a user on this topic, the use of bots on a battlefield. Something that players have suffered since the globalization of random PvP. Without a doubt, this is a coincidence, since the measure applied by Blizzard affects cases from a long time ago, which confirms that it is an investigation that has been carried out for months.

Without a doubt, massive bans greatly affect the situation of the game, hindering the raid and other activities that involve setting up a fixed and organized group. But any player who uses bots is exposed to the risk of being banned without prior notice since when entering the game we confirm that we have read the rules.

In addition, Blizzard reminds us that through the game reporting tool the use of bots, exploits or traps can be reported. We also have at our disposal the email address hacks@blizzard.com to inform about websites where these types of programs are offered or sold.

Finally, if you are one of those affected by massive bans and it is an error you can use the blizzard helpdesk to claim it.

We hope that soon there will be more information about this situation that has caused so much confusion and uproar in the gaming community. We leave you with the official post in Spanish by blizzard.

We have taken action against a large number of World of Warcraft accounts after confirming that they used third-party programs, known as "bots," to automate the game. We are committed to providing fair and equal rules for everyone in World of Warcraft and we will continue to take action against those who violate our Terms of Use. We will not allow any form of cheating.

If you think you have seen a player using a bot, an exploit or cheats, please inform us using the in-game reporting tool. If you have general information about sites about third-party programs and cheats or about new cheat software you can email it to our Hacks team at hacks@blizzard.com.

Smash the pvp. They go in herds of 7-8 and are generally usually Russian. Farming pve events, artifacts and when it's time to pvp you see them all in a herd doing the same movements. Conclusion: what they do is destroy ashran like that

Programs that interact with the pj as if they were people. Its + common use is to farm and avoid the time that this entails. In all games they are totally illegal
