Grim Batol Heroic and Normal Guide

In this level 85 dungeon located in the Twilight Highlands, we will have to rescue several Red Dragons from their tortures, defeat some of the most powerful generals in the cult and finally, face Erudax a servant of the Old Gods in a crowded room. of eggs laid by Alexstrasza herself in her captivity and some Twilight Eggs. The chains that once held her still remain in the ground, reminding the heroes of Azeroth of the price of failure.

The general is quite complicated to cure. One of his main skills is Electric attack. It will turn to a random player who is not in melee and after 3 seconds it will run towards him, trampling all players in the path. It is very similar to Ice Howl combat in this regard, and both the marked player, and everyone else on the path, must step aside if they do not want to take terrible damage.

The healer must be aware of the Bleeding wound that you will leave on the tank. If it does not reach 90% health, it will be taking damage unnecessarily, so as soon as we see that this ability appears, the healer must maintain the life of the tank above this percentage.

General Umbriss will summon some Trogg. As far as possible, it is recommended that the tank does not take over them to avoid damage.

At 30% health, Umbriss will enter Frenzy increasing their attack speed and damage. It is time to spend it all and get rid of it as soon as possible. At this point he will not summon any more Trogg.

Differences in heroic mode

The combat is quite similar except for two things. Land siege, is a stun that takes 4 seconds to cast and deals a large amount of damage to a random melee limb. Be careful as a stunned tank is an easy target. If we see him start to cast this ability, we will have to step aside to avoid the damage.

Also, Infested Trogg changes its mechanics a bit in Heroic mode. Upon death it explodes doing about 22,000 points of damage and then 9,000 points per second to anyone it has hit. If he dies near Umbriss, the latter will enrage and probably kill the entire group. If he dies near other Troggs, they will become infected, having the same abilities as the latter. You must put it aside before you finish it off.

Forgemaster Throngus / Forgemaster Throngus

    • Disorienting roar: Disorienting Scream reduces attack and casting speed by 50% per charge and deploys a charge each time the ability is cast. Start with 3 charges.

    • Impaling Slam: Charge an enemy, impale them for 7,800 and 8,200 / 19,500 and 20,500 points of physical damage every second for 5 seconds.

    • Mighty stomp: Mighty Stomp creates a Landslide that players must avoid.

    • Choose weapon: Throngus takes one of his three weapons. Each weapon gives Throngus a different ability. Change weapons every 30 seconds.

      • Grab Mace: Throngus gets Overloaded which grants him 300% more attack speed but reduces his movement speed by 70%.

      • Grab shield: Throngus gets Personal phalanx which reduces all damage taken from the front by 99%.

      • Grab swords: Throngus gets Double blades This increases your chance to hit by 20% and gives each attack a chance to land two extra attacks.

This encounter consists of 3 main phases that depend on the weapon you choose.

You have to be careful every time you use Mighty stomp since it will create a hole in the ground and rocks will begin to fall that must be avoided, moving the boss out of this area. 

30 seconds after starting combat, it will activate one of three random phases. A good place to stand, with the exception of the Mace phase, is in the corner where you enter the room, since in this way we will be favored in the shield phase.

If Throngus grabs a mace, it will do a lot more damage but will move really slow. The damage is totally incurable so the tank will have to start moving it around the room to avoid its blows. In addition, you will use Impaling Slam against random group members.

If Throngus grabs a sword, the tank and the healer will need to prepare as it will start taking a lot of damage. Keep in mind that only the Tank will take damage so the healer will have no one else to worry about.

If Throngus grabs a shield, all damage taken from the front will be reduced by 99%. The entire group must stand behind the boss in order to continue dealing damage to him. If you are not in the corner where you enter the room, archers will appear that will shoot fire arrows at the players.

Differences in heroic mode

In Heroic mode, Throngus gains additional effects depending on the weapon he obtains.

  • Mace: Throngus will leave a trail of fire while walking. It is important that impaled players move away quickly as they are very likely to fall to the ground.
  • Sword: With swords it will leave a damage over magic time that will accumulate quickly. The healer must constantly heal him so that he does not die from attacks or magic damage.
  • Shield: The shield expels fire so getting behind it will do a lot of damage. Players have to move back and forth to avoid dying.

Shadowburner Drahga / Shadowburner Drahga

    • Twilight protection: Drahga is protected by the aura of Twilight and takes 90% less damage!

  • Phase 2 skills
    • Flame of Valiona: Valiona's Flame Breath deals 24,375 to 25,625 Shadow damage and knocks the target back on impact.

    • Devastating scourge: The vicious Devastating Scourge deals 100% weapon damage and opens a rift into the Twilight Realm.

    • Twilight shift: Valiona goes into twilight, allowing her to escape undamaged!

This combat has two phases. The most important phase is the second since, as you can see, Drahga has very low health.

During the entire combat he will use Summoning Flames. This spawns a fire elemental that latches onto a player and begins to chase them. In case it reaches it, the elemental will explode doing a lot of damage and killing its target. It can and should be stunned / slowed to prevent it from reaching its target. The pursued player must run at all times without stopping at all.

Once Drahga reaches 30% health he will mount on his dragon Valiona, thus beginning phase 2. The elementals will continue to appear and the damage of the tank will be much higher.

Valiona It should be placed in the center of the room to be able to move better to avoid the Flame of Valiona. This deadly breath has a really wide effect that does a ton of damage per second. The moment we see her begin to use this ability, the entire group must move to a safe place to avoid damage.

In addition, the dragon will also use Devastating scourge above the tank, opening a rift to the twilight realm. Players who remain on the rift will be slowed and take heavy damage. It is very important to avoid failures, especially when escaping from the Flame of Valiona.

Once you Valiona reaches 10% health, it will fly away, leaving Drahga to die.

Differences in heroic mode

In Heroic mode, the Fire Elementals of the Summoning Flames, they deal enough damage to kill a person in one hit and appear anywhere in the room. It is imperative that the elemental never reaches its target, otherwise you will have the battle lost.

Furthermore, the Flame of Valiona it has a much greater range so we will have to be careful when avoiding them.

Erudax

    • Binding Shadows: Binding Shadows drain 5,000 / 10,000 hit points every 5 seconds and root players close to the target.

    • Debilitating blow: Debilitating Strike deals 75% weapon damage as Shadow damage, knocking back the target and weakens his body, causing him to take 100% more damage. He uses it over the tank.

    • Gale of shadows: Channel a Shadow Gale that deals increasing Shadow damage over time to enemies not in the Shadow Gale's eye.

    • Summon Faceless Corruptor: Summons 1/2 Unknown Corruptor at the hall entrance. The Unknown will try to run towards an egg to use Twilight corruption. Doing so will cause two Twilight Hatchlings to appear. Additionally, the Corrupters will attempt to heal Erudax with Shady relief and drain the health of the players with Suck essence.

Erudax It is the last encounter of this dungeon and we will find it in the room in which Alexstrasza was chained, not too long ago.

The tank should be placed on one edge with its back facing the center of the room, this way when you push the tank with your Debilitating blow it will take time to reach it, avoiding a lot of damage.

Often you will use Binding Shadows, a negative effect that deals damage and leaves the player still. Players must stay apart as this effect spreads to nearby players and the Healer must be ready to dispel the effect it leaves behind.

Players will have to be on the lookout for one of their most important skills Gale of shadows, which will make a small circle of shadows appear anywhere in the room. A few seconds after its appearance, it will begin to do a lot of shadow damage and, to avoid it, we will have to place ourselves in the eye of the storm. While we're in the eye of the storm, we'll be doing a lot more damage to Erudax so it's a good time to unleash our entire arsenal.

Right after the Gale, Erudax will summon an Unknown Corruptor. It will go to the side of the room to break the eggs and make the hatchlings appear. If these appear, there will be a lot of damage to the group. The Corrupters cannot be stunned but can be slowed down so the whole group must slow down the Corruptor and finish him off before he reaches the eggs. Be especially alert if any of them try to use Shady relief good with Erudax, good with themselves to interrupt it.

Differences in heroic mode

The main difference is that they will appear of Unknown Corruptors. Each will run to a different side of the room. At this point and depending on the composition of the group, the DPS should be divided to slow it down or have support from the tank itself.

Erudax will also use Nightmare Shield on either of the two Corrupters, dealing damage to players near them. Ranged DPS should be in charge of taking down whoever has the shield to avoid additional damage.
