Engineering Guide 1-600

This guide will teach you the quickest and easiest way to increase your Engineering from 1 to 600. It is updated for patch 5.0.5. Engineering is better combined with Mining, if you do it you will save a lot of gold. If you don't have mining, you will have to buy everything at the auction house. Although the much faster way is buying everything at auction.

First, vVisit any coach in major cities of ancient Azeroth - just ask a guard, and learn Engineering Apprentice.

Purchase a Blacksmith's Hammer from a Blacksmith Supply Vendor near your trainer.

  60 x [Iron Gunpowder]- 60 Iron Stone

  You may go as high as 40 with this recipe. You will need 60 Iron Gunpowder later, so save them.

• 30 – 50
  30 x [Handful of Copper Screws]- 30 Copper Bar

  You will need about 30 of these later.

  30 x [Iron Copper Bomb]- 60 Iron Gunpowder, 30 Handful of Copper Screws

  Pleasure [arcoluz spanner] between 50 and 70.

  20 x [Burda Gunpowder]- 20 Coarse Stone

  You will need 20 of these later.

• 90 – 100
  20 x [Burda Dynamite] - 20 Coarse Gunpowder, 20 Linen Cloth

  8 x [Mechanical box]- 24 Bronze bar

  Use the boxes you make. You will earn an extra point per creation.

  30 x [Heavy Gunpowder]- 30 Heavy Stone

  and

  15 x [Bronze buzzing pots] - 30 Bronze Bar, 15 Wool Cloth

  You will need 30 [Heavy Gunpowder] and 15 [Bronze buzzing pots] then, and if you do these you should reach 150 points.

  15 x [Bronze frame]- 30 Bronze Bar, 15 Medium Leather, 15 Wool Cloth

  By doing them, you could go much further - probably around 160, then stop doing them and only do more when you need them. Save them too.

  15 x [Explosive Sheep] - 30 Heavy Gunpowder, 15 Bronze Buzzing Pots, 15 Bronze Frame, 30 Wool Cloth

  1 x [Gyro micro-adjuster] - 4 Steel bar

  Save these because you will need them later.

  7 x [Mithril tube]- 21 Mithril Bar

  Stop doing them when you hit 200.

Visit your coach, and learn Artisan Engineering.

Engineering has the option in 200 to specialize in gnome or goblin engineering. You can take the missions from your Engineering trainer. The main difference between the two sides is the location of their respective teleporters and the ability of their trinkets. Some items require a specific spec to use, while other items are created by a spec but can be used by any engineer. Fortunately, most recipes that are created by one specialization can be used by both.

  40 x [Mithril's Wrap]- 120 Mithril Bar

  Save these.

  20 x [High explosive bomb] - 40 Mithril Wrap, 20 Unstable Activator, 40 Solid Gunpowder

  20 x [Heavy Gunpowder]- 40 Dense Stone

  You may need to do more than 20 to get to 260.

  21 x [Thorium junk] - 63 Thorium Bar, 21 Runic Cloth

  If you don't get to 320 with these recipes below, you should do [Fel Iron Bombs]up to 320. But then you'll need to make some more Fel Iron Screws and the other materials.

  Save these.

  15 x [Fel Iron Casing] - 45 Fel Iron Bar

  You'll need about 15 of these later, but I suggest you do these until it turns gray, then just do more when you need them.

  5 x [Fel Iron Musket]- 5 Heavy Assortment, 15 Fel Iron Casing, 30 Handful of Fel Iron Screws

  You can buy the Heavy Assortments from the vendor.

Visit your coach, and learn Engineering Grand Master Engineering.

• 350 – 370

  You will need about 40 [Handful of Cobalt Screws] and 20 [Volatile explosive activator] soon. Do these now, and you hit 375 or probably more. Note that when you create [Handful of Cobalt Screws] you can get 1 or 3 screws, and the same goes for [Volatile Explosive Trigger], you will get 2 [Volatile Explosive Trigger] for each creation.

  10 x [2 Volatile explosive activator]- 30 Cobalt Bar, 10 Crystallized Water

  Save these.

  Keep these too, you will need them. Make any trinket if you didn't get to 385 with this.

  10 x [Reinforced Cold Steel Tube]- 80 Cobalt Bar, 10 Crystallized Water

  Save these, you will need them later.

  You can make any other trinket if you don't have an enchantment on your gloves. You can purchase the Handyman Kit from an Engineering Supply Dealer near your trainer.

Check your in-game calendar to see if the Darkmoon fair is open

You can earn +5 points by completing a simple mission.

• 500 – 550
  You will use these later, so do all of them now. You may need to do more, but this is the minimum it takes to get to 580.

  25 x [Ghost Iron Screws] - 75 Ghost Iron Bar

  15 x [High explosive gunpowder] - 15 Ghost Iron Bar

• 550 – 554
  4 x [Handyman Kit]- 8 High Explosive Gunpowder, 8 Ghost Iron Screws, 8 Windwool Cloth

  It is very important that you stop doing them at 554.

• 554 – 579
  5 x [Phantom Iron Dragonling] - 20 High Explosive Gunpowder, 40 Ghost Iron Screws, 60 Windwool Cloth

• 579 – 580
  1 x [Handyman Kit] - 2 High Explosive Gunpowder, 2 Ghost Iron Screws, 2 Windwool Cloth

• 580 – 595
  This is the ugly part. if you really want to get to 600 fast you should do [Thermal anvil] up to 595. You'll need about 22-24 of these just for the 15 points that call for about 300 Phantom Iron Bar. I do not recommend this way of uploading it, you should take it easy, farm [Spirit of harmony]and make any rare item you can create, most will give you 5 points.

  You can get [Spirit of harmony] when combining 10 [Motes of harmony]. Motes are dropped by all mobs in Pandaria, even in dungeons. The drop is very low, so it will take you 2 hours to collect 10 motes.

  Recommended objects to do:

  1 x [Mist Piercing Glasses] - 8 Ghost Iron Screws, 2 Spirit of Harmony
  2 x [Lord Bombington's look of doom] - 36 Ghost Iron Screws, 4 Primordial Ruby, 2 Spirit of Harmony.

  But you can make any object that you will wear or sell.

• 595 – 600
  Here there is no other alternative, you will have to make the recipes that ask for Spirit of Harmony. I recommend the ones below, but you can do any that gives you all 5 points.
