With the latest recent fixes on the server, some of us were a little surprised when we read the following correction applied:
Now all eight engineering discoveries are available to learn by creating the defeated chicken crusher at the highest engineering level.
As soon as I read this, I tried to get information without any success. Now, thanks to the comments of a Wowhead user, we may have some more information about the Engineering Discoveries.
In Cataclysm, they wanted to give some of the Alchemy touch to the Engineering profession. 8 discoveries were introduced that, contrary to most patterns, they don't train instead we have a chance of discovering them when making Cataclysm Engineering items. However, there was a problem where if you only knew 7 of the 8 at 525 skill points, it was impossible to learn the eighth discovery.
With this arrangement, the solution arrived.
Some notes:
- If you have the maximum level Engineering and you know 7 of the 8 discoveries, making the Chicken Crusher defeated we will learn the last.
- If you already have all the discoveries and make the Chicken Crusher, you will not learn anything.
- If you reach the maximum level of Engineering, and you do not know any of the discoveries (unlikely), crafting this item teaches you only a of the discoveries, not all the rest. Being necessary to manufacture it 8 times in total in this case.
- It is possible to learn a discovery from any of the recipes, but the Chicken Crusher has a 100% chance of teaching one.
The Chicken Crusher has quite expensive materials like the Chaos Orb so, let's hope you have to make it only once (or not at all).
Discoveries
Discoveries are enchantments that we can add to our belt / gloves, only if we are Engineers.
- Cardboard killer: Fun, deflect attacks. (Belt)
- Grounded plasma shield: Damage Absorption Shield. (Belt)
- Invisibility field: They allow you to become invisible (or think you are invisible) (Belt)
- Instant deflection plates: Tanks. Armor increase. (Gloves)
- Spinal Healing Injector: Increased health when ingesting health potions. (Gloves)
- Synapse springs: Spell casters. Add intellect. (Gloves)
- Tazik stunner: Add DPS to rotation. (Gloves)
- Manna Z50: Mana increase when ingesting mana potions. (Gloves)
