Are you a fan of comics? What about comics created by role-playing players? Did you ever think how wonderful it would be to unite both worlds? Well, your ideas have come true! (throwing colorful confetti). A World of Warcraft player, Grimsparkle, has recreated his role-playing comic strip into a 172-page graphic novel focusing on the events before and after Legion. The story includes not only the characters from Grimsparkle, but also well-known members of the Warcraft community such as Percula from WowHead and TradeChat.

Called "Wonder Works," the story takes place as the Legion's hand on Azeroth grows with sporadic invasions and an unknown artifact emerges in Dalaran's Wonder Works toy store. Events quickly get underway with Dalaran's stability at stake. The Ironwolf and Gnomeregan Forever clans must work together to unravel the ins and outs and the secret Wonder Works factory.

The story is divided into 3 acts: Character, crisis and catharsis.

The Legion's plan to overthrow Vol'jin and start a war against the Alliance has failed. As demonic invasions become more frequent, the Ironwolf Clan is secretly dispatched on a mission to Dalaran. The magical city is not very happy with this visit and since the incident of the Divine Bell the city is more guarded. A goblin, Grimsparkle, delivers an inherited relic for repair at the Wonder Works toy store and creates a chain of events. The relic is a lost artifact, stolen from a secret facility rumored to be run by gnomes and goblins. The reappearance of this crystal attracts the attention of an exiled and dangerous Pandaren, Xiaoyin Xu. The owner of the toy store is brutally murdered and for this Grim and the Horde are accused, lighting the flames of revenge for the gnomes of the Gnomeregan Forever clan. They try to kill Grim during a goodwill concert in the city causing a riot between the Horde and the Alliance, causing a blockade and both factions are imprisoned in the Violet Hold while Xiaoyin escapes to Gnomeregan for unknown reasons ...

The Kirin Tor restores order and interrogates both parties to find out what is happening. Guldanna refuses to help, feeling betrayed by Khadgar, until she reveals that they were able to resurrect Grim using a soul stone. After reviewing the new evidence in the investigation, they send a team to Pandaria to learn more about this mysterious Pandaren that disappeared.

They discover from Taran Zhu that he was the only criminal convicted but not executed for the crime of practicing black magic some twelve years ago. Taran Zhu shares Yesheng Cloudbrew's story and offers to help them make amends as a matter of honor. The team returns only to find that both factions are still accusing each other of treason. Things seem to be at a standstill when Khadgar's team is able to decipher a Legion communications crystal they've been working on. Khadgar is shown a future warning about a Legion attack led by the Pandaren equipped with a powerful weapon capable of transmuting elements into flesh and destabilizing the foundations of Dalaran. The message tragically ends with the fall of Dalaran, forcing all fronts to work together or face a similar fate.

Now knowing the (future) events, Guldanna reluctantly agrees to work with Forbidra and forms a gang in Gnomeregan to prevent the Pandaren from reaching their goal. They fight their way through Ressa's leper gnomes only to find a new enemy lurking near the reactor. Xiaoyin uses this to her advantage to gain access to the rainbow access level, teleport, and escape. Surrounded, the gang uses Guldanna's unorthodox but effective "goblin throw" to access the portal's generator and hunt down Xiaoyin into the Wonder Works itself.

The gang is scattered on the perilous and lost island of Malak'abim. Plant life itself is armed to kill the unwary and be eaten by its fungal monstrosities. However, the gang's teleportation managed to save the life of Pal'a, one of the elderly guardians. In gratitude, he spares their lives while other members of the gang work on an antidote to neutralize the hallucinogenic qualities of the vine that grows in the thick jungle.

Once grouped together, the gang makes their way out of the jungle into the mysterious Wonder Works, a weapons factory and research lab apparently run by gnomes and goblins. They run into unknown danger to stop Xiaoyin and avoid certain death.

As a personal opinion, I recommend reading the comic, it is very well assembled and even reminded me of the Blizzard comics we are used to. (Crematoria, Dark Riders, Legion Introductory Stories, etc…). The comic is Completely free, both reading and downloading, making it even more attractive and available to everyone. and honestly, even if it was paying, it also deserves the purchase without hesitation. The only downside that could be put, and being a picky eater, is that Grimsparkle's comic is only in English and it is quite unlikely that it will be translated. But, being an entertaining and free comic, it would be a bit strange to put it aside for the simple fact of the language, right? Do not worry if your English is somewhat rusty, there are not too many technical words that you need a dictionary or translator attached to you (removing places and spells typical of Warcraft).

You can find his comic in this link on your website. Download of the entire comic is available in PDF format and free at this link. In addition, on the same page you can also find several lore stories including Yesheng's, maps of the areas they visit through the comic and templates of each boss with their attacks, photos and descriptions.
