New changes are added to the fishing profession In Public Test Realms patch 3.1.0:
- A new (and extremely rare) special mount it can be caught fishing in the icy waters of Northrend.
- A new clam, the Giant Darkwater Clam can be obtained by fishing in Wintergrasp. This new clam has a good chance of giving us a pearl and increases the amount of clam meat we normally get.
- New Fishing Journals from Marcia Sedal in Dalaran City!
- Players will not have to do the quest Nat Pagle, Extreme Fisherman to be an Artisan in fishing. The mission now offers us a superior quality fishing rod. If you've already completed the quest, you can visit Nat Pagle in the Dustwallow Marsh to get the new fishing pole.
- The time it takes to catch a fish has been reduced.
- Now you can fish anywhere no matter what skill you have. Each catch has the potential to increase fishing skill but you will catch useless things in areas that are too difficult for your skill.
- Now you can fish in Wintergrasp, and the fishing is good!
- You no longer need to read books to learn more about fishing. The coaches have finished reading them and can now teach you the same.
