Devastation Demon Hunter - PVE Guide - Patch 8.0

Devastation Demon Hunter - PVE Guide - Patch 8.0

Aloha! Welcome to this Demon Hunter Devastation Pve guide, in it I will explain the changes we have undergone after patch 8.0 and how to take advantage of them.

Demon Hunter Devastation

The Illidari draw on fel magic and chaotic magic, energies that have threatened Azeroth for eons and are believed to be essential in dealing with the Burning Legion.

Modifications in patch 8.0.1

  • nova-de-chaos Now stuns all nearby enemies for 2 sec, and each enemy stunned by Chaos Nova has a 30% chance to spawn a Lesser Soul Fragment.
  • Fury limit increased from 100 to 120.
  • hit-of-chaos now has a 40% chance to return 20. of fury.
  • eye-beam Cost is reduced to 30 Fury, cooldown reduced to 30 sec, and your primary target takes 50% more damage.

Talents

Now I will tell you what talents I think are convenient to have in our build and the explanation of all the available talents.

  • Level 99: Tainted Blade.
  • Level 100: Aura of Immolation.
  • Level 102: Trail of Ruin.
  • Level 104: Soul Rend.
  • Level 106: First casualty.
  • Level 108: Unleashed Power.
  • Level 110: Nemesis.

lvl 99

  • demonic appetite: Chaos Strike has a chance to spawn a Lesser Soul Fragment. Consuming any Soul Fragment grants 30. of fury.
  • leaves: Charge towards your target, dealing (66.69% of Attack power)% Fire damage. Demon Bite has a chance to reset the cooldown of Tainted Blade. Generates 30 p. of fury.
  • anger: Eye Beam generates 40. Fury per second and its duration is increased by 50%.

It is quite a "difficult" branch to choose since leaves y anger They have little differences in encounters, they combine very well in all types of rotations and they grant us an excellent amount of Fury. The choice of either of these two is viable.

lvl 100

  • appetite: Demon Bite generates up to 10. of extra fury.
  • leaves: Your auto attacks have a 60% chance to deal bonus Shadow damage and generate Fury.
  • hate: Engulfs you in flames, instantly dealing (24.57% of Attack power) p. Fire damage to enemies within 8 radius (9.1728% of Attack power) for me. Fire damage every second. Lasts 10 sec. Generates 80 p. of fury for 10 sec.

hate very good amount of Fury with little cooldown. An aura that helps your dps a lot, which is to activate it and that's it.

On the other hand we have leaves which is a little below the previous one. Noted for a regular base of Fury although lower than the previous talent, eliminating and automating the skill demon bite.

lvl 102

  • trail: Blade Dance's final blow deals (56% of Attack power) p. additional Chaos damage over 4 sec.
  • trumpet: Unleash a torrent of fel energy for 3 sec, dealing [(13) * (22% of Attack power)] p. Chaos damage to all enemies within 8 yards.
  • sangria: Increases the damage of Fel Charge by 100%.

By discarding the only talent worthwhile is trail, which improves a widely used skill (especially in multi): leaf dance.

trumpet It might turn out to be a good talent, but the 1 min cooldown makes it very unattractive.

lvl 104

  • abyssal: You slide into the Void, increasing movement speed by 100% and making you immune to damage, but you cannot attack. Lasts 5 sec.
  • instincts: Dispel now reduces damage taken by an additional 15%. Additionally, you automatically activate Dispel when your health is below 35%. This effect can only occur if Dispel is not on cooldown.
  • tear: Your refund is increased by 10%. Gain 10% more restore while Metamorphosis is active.

This branch is very optional and does not vary too much, it is up to the player's taste. In my case I choose tear for the + 10% restitution that helps in survival.

lvl 106

  • hate cycle: When Chaos Strike returns Fury, it also reduces the cooldown of Metamorphosis by 3 sec.
  • first low: Reduces 20 p. The Fury cost of Blade Dance and increases its damage to p. against the first target hit.
  • dark gash: Slashes an enemy, dealing (53.703% of Attack power) p. Physical damage and increases the damage of your Chaos Strike by 40% for 8 sec.

Something very similar to branch 102 happens, little variety of talents. The best is first low. Makes a good combination with the talent of 102 trail

lvl 108

  • glaive: Throw Glaive now has 2 charges and slows all enemies hit by 50% for 6 sec.
  • power: Removes Chaos Nova's Fury cost and reduces its cooldown by (- 20000/600)%.
  • demon: Impales the target for (32.76% of Attack power). Chaos damage, stunning it for 4 sec.

As in branch 104, optional. This branch is based on adds control. Highlights power by cost removal, which helps save Fury for bigger attacks and by reducing its cooldown.

lvl 110

  • inercia: Fel Charge increases your damage dealt by 15% for 6 sec. Vengeful Retreat's cooldown is reduced by 5 sec and generates 80. of fury for 10 sec if it damages at least one enemy.
  • nemesis: Increases the damage you deal to the target by 20% for 1 min. When the target dies, you will deal 20% more damage against all creatures of the same type as the original target (Humanoid, Dragonkin, etc.) during its remaining time.
  • demoniac: Eye Beam causes you to change into a demon form for 5 seconds after it finishes dealing damage.

The 3 talents are really good but we will go one by one according to importance.

nemesis It is the one that stands out the most of the three. 1 min with + 20% damage helps a lot in bosses even if we have to "sacrifice" it for 2 min of dc if it is not killed. He is also thinking for multi since most of the times the groups of adds being of the same species we would focus on one to finish it off and get another + 20% but globally to all that race (even sometimes the boss shares the same race that your adds).

inercia it can be profitable in multi but the damage bonus is not as impressive as the previous one. The good thing is the low cooldown as it depends on vile-charge.

demoniac He was a good talent in Legion, especially from Antorus, but he doesn't pay as much with new talents anymore.
