Fire Mage - PVE Guide - Patch 7.3.5

Fire Magician cover 7.3.5

Aloha! Today I bring you the guide for the Fire Magician of Adriielito - C'Thun in which he will show you which are the best talents for this patch and the equipment to unleash the full potential of this specialization.

Fire Mage

A magician is someone who has dedicated his entire life to worldly and arcane knowledge as it is his understanding of the world that allows him to twist it to create unnatural or arcane magic.

Strengths

  • It is one of the specs with the highest burst damage in the game and sustained damage.
  • It has a lot of mobility thanks to your teleportation in addition to having anchoring skills.

Weak points

  • It is one of the classes with the lowest percentage of life in the game, therefore it has defensive abilities such as "Invisibility" or "Ice Block".
  • Character mobility is tied to a fairly long cooldown so eliminating them after wasting these abilities won't be a big deal.

Modifications in patch 7.3.5

  • There have been no changes in this patch.

Modifications in patch 7.3

  • Without changes.

Talents

Following the same line as the DK Frost guide, I will bring you several ways to face your enemies and different ways to develop the encounters, be it massive targets or just single-target encounters. As in the previous guide, choose the ones that you like the most or are close to your possibilities.

-Talents in yellow: they can become the best depending on which fights, in this case, they are the best for single-objective encounters.
-Talents in blue: you can choose them in case you do not like the ones that appear in yellow, there will not be much difference in the DPS.
-Talents in green: these talents are the best to do much more damage in areas, that is, encounters with more than three objectives.

  • Level 15: Arsonist.
  • Level 30: Flaming Soul.
  • Level 45: Rune of power.
  • Level 60: Let everything burn.
  • Level 75: Ice Ward.
  • Level 90: Unstable Magic.
  • Level 100: Revive.

Fire Mage - PVE Guide - Patch 7.3

lvl 15

  • Devastating Strikes (Passive Effect): Casting Pyroblast or Flamestrike while Hot Streak is active has an 8% chance to instantly reactivate Hot Streak.
  • Frozen Talons (Passive Effect): Fireball also applies Conflagration to the target, dealing (20% ability power). additional Fire damage over 8 sec. Enemies affected by Conflagration or Ignition have a 10% chance to catch fire and deal (45% ability power) p. Fire damage to nearby enemies.
  • Runic Attenuation (Passive Effect): Your Fireball and Pyroblast spells always critically strike when the target is above 90% health.

Perhaps this branch is one of the most important to fully define our role in meetings.

Devastating Strikes (Passive Effect) it will be our default talent if we want to do much more damage against a single target. With this talent we increase the probability of casting Pyroblast many more times in the same encounter.

Frozen Talons (Passive Effect) It is a talent focused on area damage. By throwing Fireball at the same target, we get them to explode in a chain, distributing the fire debuffs to the rest of the targets, also receiving the damage from the explosion they produce.

Although Runic Attenuation (Passive Effect) It seems to be quite a good option because we do not need to launch the burst at the beginning of the meeting, the damage that we can generate in the rest of the fight decreases a lot by having this talent. Perhaps it is best not to use it at any time since we can get much more damage with the other two.

lvl 30

  • Freezing Fog (Passive Effect): Teleports you 20m forward unless there is an obstacle. It is not affected by the global cooldown and can be cast at the same time as other spells. It has a maximum of 2 charges.
  • Killer Efficiency (Passive Effect): Causes an explosion around you, dealing (118% ability power) p. Fire damage to all enemies within 8 yards and their movement speed reduced by 70% for 4 sec.
  • Horn of Winter (Instant / 45s cooldown): Dealing Fire damage to targets within 8 yards of you recharges your Blazing Barrier for an amount equal to 40% of the damage dealt.

Personally, in this branch I use Freezing Fog (Passive Effect) since it increases the number of Transfer charges to 2 and allows me to have much more mobility in the different encounters where I have to constantly move. In addition, if we have the talents of the artifact weapon unlocked, we will receive a healing of up to 40% of the maximum health of your character.

Killer Efficiency (Passive Effect), Like Horn of Winter (Instant / 45s cooldown), are talents that are used against various targets that are at a minimum distance from your position. In this case, you can choose either of the two since there is not much difference. Killer Efficiency (Passive Effect) used to deal more damage to various targets and Horn of Winter (Instant / 45s cooldown) is used to increase the amount of damage that Blazing Barrier can absorb.

I recommend using Killer Efficiency (Passive Effect) if you have someone to keep the agriculture while Horn of Winter (Instant / 45s cooldown) it is preferable to use it if you are alone.

lvl 45

In this branch of talents, you can choose any of the three according to the one you like the most.

As advice, Setello (Passive effect) you can use it in encounters where you have to constantly move and there is no area damage that can destroy your copies.

Glacial Advance (Instant / 15s Cooldown / Consumes 1 Rune)On the contrary, it is used in encounters where you do not have to move much or even against targets that give you a great margin to attack without having to move to avoid areas or other abilities.

If you don't want to have to be aware of the right moment to launch Glacial Advance (Instant / 15s Cooldown / Consumes 1 Rune), Avalanche (Passive effect) It is your talent since you can forget about having to control certain extra skills and you will only focus on your basic rotation. I don't recommend it since you can get a lot more damage with the previous ones but, if you are still new to this specialization and do not want to eat your head a lot, this is the most suitable.

lvl 60

Might of the Abomination (Passive Effect) It is used to do much more damage in area while also granting you a Hot Streak charge.

Blinding Hail (Instant / 1min cooldown) It is the talent to use against unique targets as we have more snapshots throughout the match, granting us a Hot Streak charge each time we use it.

Winter is coming (Passive effect) It is not a bad talent but… it is best to use the previous ones if you want to have a defined role, be it areas or burst.

lvl 75

In this branch you can choose the talent that you like the most.

Volatile Shield (Passive Effect) if you want to run away from someone or something, Permanent Frost (Passive Effect) if you want to freeze a large group of targets that are at a great distance and Ice Ward to root targets that are at a minimum distance from your position.

lvl 90

  • Frost Scythe (Instant / Consumes 1 rune): The target becomes a living bomb, receives (118% ability power) for damage. Fire damage over 4 sec and then explodes, dealing (94.4% ability power) p. additional Fire damage to the target and all other enemies within 10 yards. Other enemies hit by this blast also turn into a living bomb, but this effect cannot spread further.
  • Frozen Pulse (Passive Effect): This talent affects Fireball on Fire Mage. 25% chance to explode on impact, dealing 50% additional damage to the target and all other enemies within 8 yards.
  • Impending Storm (Passive Effect): Flamestrike leaves behind an area of flame that burns enemies for [8 * (29.5% ability power)]. Fire damage over 8 sec.

In this case, all talents are for areas. The best one you can use for single target encounters would be Frost Scythe (Instant / Consumes 1 rune) since it is a snapshot with which you will inflict extra damage when exploding. Frozen Pulse (Passive Effect)on the contrary, it grants you the possibility to do damage in areas immediately… if you are lucky with its probability.

Impending Storm (Passive Effect) is that I personally use for areas, if the enemies are controlled at the same point, this talent can become the best of the three.

lvl 100

Disintegration (Instant / 1,5 min cooldown) It will help you decrease the cooldown of Combustion, our main burst. With this talent you can get to throw it three or four times per encounter.

Sindragosa's Breath (Instant / 2 min cooldown / 15 Runic Power per second) it is a talent that stands in the middle of the other two, both ironically and literally. If you want to take more damage against a single target, Disintegration (Instant / 1,5 min cooldown) it is your talent. On the contrary, if you want to do more damage in area, Hungry Rune Weapon (Instant / 3 min cooldown) it will be a better choice.

Hungry Rune Weapon (Instant / 3 min cooldown)Despite having a 1.5 second impact delay (causing us to occasionally fail the ability if the targets are in motion), it deals a large amount of damage, being one of the most devastating talents for the mage's areas.

Artefact

Before attaching the image that will help you to make the best paths in your artifact weapon, I must warn you that at level 110 you will directly unlock Artifact Knowledge at level 41, obtaining an artifact point multiplier of 5.200.000 %. Perhaps it is best to wait at maximum level to worry about the roads and not waste a lot of time in this regard.

Practical tips

  • At the start of the match, cast first Glacial Advance (Instant / 15s Cooldown / Consumes 1 Rune).
  • Before launching Combustion, it is best to channel a Fireball and, instantly after finishing the cast, cast Combustion. In this way we are getting the burst to last us one more cast.
  • When launching Combustion, follow this rotation: Fire explosion > Pyroblast > Ball of fire > Fire explosion > Pyroblast continuously until you run out of Combustion. We must bear in mind that Fire Explosion can be cast while casting other spells.
  • Before Combustion finalize, the first rune you placed will have disappeared. Save the second one for the next combo.
  • At the end of our first rotation, we will still have all three charges of our artifact weapon intact and we will have almost recharged one of the fire blast charges.
  • To continue with the sustained damage, we must take turns between throwing fireballs and obtaining a charge of Good luck y Fire explosion, without forgetting that we have the snapshot of the artifact weapon, Phoenix flames, which gives us a 100% charge on impact.
  • Never throw one Ball of fire after Phoenix flames o Fire blast without active Combustion as we could be out of luck and lose Good luck.
  • Use Flaming Barrier every time we lose it and don't have it on CD.
  • Phoenix flames Hit more than two targets. If another target is found near the main one during an encounter, you can use it as it will bounce off and deal a debuff of damage to the other target.

Good afternoon Adrián, I'm Esteban. I've been following your work for a few years and I have to congratulate you for the effort and quality that you give to the posts you make, but as a player as well (not from vanilla, if not from Burning) just like you, I do not agree on the great part according to which guides. I have four characters to the maximum (including one of them the fire wizard, with his legendary encore) and I would like to be able to give you a cable either when it comes to providing higher quality images, advice or even writing your own guides so that they Check it out and people can get a second opinion. Greetings and a big hug, att: Esteban.

Hello, I am too concerned as a Fire Mage that the first guide someone who wants to learn to handle the class meets by typing "Fire Mage Guide 7.3" is this. Honestly, I have not seen any more guides of yours nor do I know the rest of the classes on which you have made guides, but this one in particular is full of errors, both in the stats, as in the encores and talents. On the other hand, you don't comment on the legendary ones. The rotation is not bad, but it could be more precise and clearer. I leave you here the link of my character to Warcraftlogs. If you want help to improve the guide I will be happy to provide it and thus help many fire mages who want to improve. You can contact me in-game. All the best
