PvP Survival Hunter - Patch 8.1

PvP Survival Hunter

Hello guys. Today I bring you a how-to guide with the talents and practical tips for the PvP Survival Hunter in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth.

PvP Survival Hunter

From an early age, the call of the wild draws some adventurers from the comfort of their homes into the unforgiving primal world. Those who endure become hunters. Masters of their environment, they are capable of sneaking like ghosts through the trees and setting traps in the path of their enemies. Hunters are also extremely agile and are able to avoid or slow down their enemies to regain their advantage in battle.

In this guide we will talk about the talents and strategy of the Survival Hunter in Patch 8.1 in its player versus player mode. As I told you in all my PvE guides, this is an orientation on how you can take a PvP survival Hunter and get the most out of it, but with the use of his character each player acquires the skill and way of playing appropriate to him and decides at all times what talents and abilities to use. No guide is to the letter.

I also have to tell you that all this can change at any time both on my part and because some talents or abilities change throughout this expansion. If that happens, I will keep you posted.
Survival Hunters in PvP have fairly good mobility, good crowd control skills, and good burst damage. The downside I find him is that he has few defenders and we are quite weak when we play against teams that can often stun us.

Talents

Here is the build of the talents that I am using with my Survival Hunter in PvP. Anyway, at the moment we have a lot of ease to be able to change talents depending on who we are going to face, so if one of them is not to your liking, you can try any other that you think could be better for you.

  • Level One: Viper Venom
  • Level One: Guerrilla Tactics
  • Level One: Camouflage
  • Level One: Flock of crows
  • Level One: Born to be Wild
  • Level One: Mongoose Bite
  • Level One: Wildfire Infusion

Level One

  • Viper venom: Raptor Strike has a chance to cause your next Serpent Sting to cost no focus and deal 250% more initial damage.
  • Rules of intervention: Harpoon deals (50% of Attack power) points of physical damage and generates 20 focus points over 10 seconds. Harpoon's cooldown is reset when killing an enemy.
  • Alpha predator: Kill now has 2 charges and deals 30% more damage.

I have chosen Viper venom since it increases the general damage to us.

Level One

  • Guerrilla tactics: Wildfire Bomb now has 2 charges and the initial explosion deals 100% more damage.
  • Hydra bite: Snake Sting shoots arrows at 2 extra enemies near your target and their damage over time is increased by 10%.
  • Butcher shop: Shake off all nearby enemies with a barrage of blows, dealing (80% of Attack Power) points of Physical damage to each. Reduces the remaining cooldown on Wildfire Bomb by 1 second for each target hit, up to 5.

This time I have chosen Guerrilla tactics Since it increases the initial damage and the general damage.

Level One

  • Burns: Your movement speed will increase by 30% when you have not been attacked for 3 seconds.
  • Natural relief: Every 20 focus points you spend reduces the remaining cooldown of Arousal by 1 second.
  • Camouflage: You and your pet blend into the environment and gain stealth for 1 minute. While cloaked, you heal for 2% of maximum health every 1 second.

Here I choose Camouflage that prevents us from being focused right after we start and also offers us an escape in some situations.

Level One

  • Bloodseeker: Your Kill ability causes the target to bleed and takes [Attack power * (0.1) * (4)] points of damage over 8 seconds. You and your pet gain 10% attack speed for each bleeding enemy within 12 yards.
  • Steel trap: Throw a steel trap at the target location, immobilizing the first enemy to approach for 20 seconds, dealing (120% of Attack power) bleed damage for 20 seconds. Other damage can cancel the immobilization effect. The trap lasts 1 minute. Limit: 1.
  • Flock of crows: Summons a flock of crows that attack your target, dealing [(23% of Attack power) * 16] points of physical damage over 15 seconds. If the target dies during the attack, the cooldown of Flock of Crows is reset.

This time I have chosen Flock of crows that increases our damage.

Level One

  • Born to be Wild: Reduces the cooldowns of Aspect of the Eagle, Aspect of the Cheetah, and Aspect of the Turtle by 20%.
  • Immediacy: Separation also frees you from all movement impairing effects and increases your movement speed by 50% for 4 sec.
  • Binding shot: Separation also frees you from all movement impairing effects and increases your movement speed by 50% for 4 sec.

Here I usually use Born to be Wild as it reduces the cooldown of our Appearance of the turtle y Cheetah look that are quite necessary for our survival.

Level One

  • Tip of the spear: Killing increases the damage of your next Raptor Strike by 20%. It stacks up to 3 times.
  • Mongoose bite: A brutal attack that deals (90% of Attack power) points of physical damage and grants you Mongoose Fury.
    • Mongoose Fury: Increases Mongoose Bite damage by 15% for 14 seconds. It accumulates up to 5 times. Successive attacks do not increase duration.
  • Flank strike: You and your pet jump towards the target and hit it at the same time, inflicting a total of [(Attack Power * 1.17 * (1 + Versatility)) + ((117% Attack Power))] points of Physical damage.

Here I choose Mongoose bite since it increases the damage to us.

Level One

  • Birds of prey: Attack your pet's target with Mongoose Bite, Raptor Strike, or Carnage. Carving increases the duration of Coordinated Attack by 1.5 seconds.
  • Wild fire infusion: Alter your Wildfire Bomb with bonus components that randomly grant it one of the following buffs each time you throw it:
    • Shrapnel Bomb: Targets are struck by shrapnel, causing Mongoose Bite, Raptor Strike, Carnage, and Carve to bleed for 9 seconds, stacking up to 3 times.
    • Pheromone Bomb: Kill has a 100% chance to reset against targets covered in pheromones.
    • Volatile Bomb: Reacts violently with poison, causing an extra explosion against enemies affected by your Snake Sting and resetting the duration of your Snake Stings.
  • Chakrams: Throw a pair of chakrams at your target, slashing all enemies in their path, dealing [(40% of Attack Power)] physical damage. Afterward, the chakrams come back to you and damage enemies again. Your main target takes 100% more damage.

This time I usually use the talent Wild fire infusion as it greatly increases our overall damage.

PvP Talents

  • Gladiator's Medallion: Removes all movement impairing effects and all effects that cause your character to lose control in PvP combat.
  • Roar of sacrifice: Orders your pet to shield a friendly target from critical hits, causing attacks against that target to not be critical hits, but 20% of all damage taken by that target is also taken by the pet. Lasts 12 seconds.
  • Tracker network: Throw a net at your enemy and roots them for 6 sec. While in the net, the target's chance to hit is reduced by 80%. Any damage will break the network.
  • Spider bite: Stings the target with powerful spider venom for 4 seconds, causing its next offensive spell to silence the target for 4 seconds.
  • Relief bandage: Instantly removes all bleeds, poisons, and diseases from the target, and heals for 30% of damage over 6 sec. If you are attacked, you will stop using Bandage of Mending.
  • Survival tactics: Feign Death removes all harmful magic effects and reduces damage taken by 99% for 1.5 seconds.

So much Relief bandage as Survival tactics can replace Spider bite. It all depends on the group we go with and our needs, choosing the most suitable for the meeting.

Priority statistics

Agility - Haste - Versatility - Mastery - Critical Strike

Pet

The pet I use is a cunning branch pet to take advantage of Master call and Fatal wounds.

Weapon Enchantment

The enchantment I use on my weapon is: Weapon enchant - Quick Navigation

  • Healers Have to Die: this Addon will mark the healers making it much easier to recognize them in combat.

And so far the PvP Survival Hunter guide in patch 8.1. As I play more I will add things that I find interesting or useful to improve.

Greetings, see you in Azeroth.
