1-800 Cooking Guide
I always recommend one thing with professions: the best way to raise it is by being a maximum level. You avoid headaches in case you have to go to an area with a higher level than you, greater access to resources, it takes less time to farm, recipes that ask for a level and cut your "roll", etc ... So My advice is to get involved with professions if you are above level 100 or more.
Well, let's get started. Like Jack the Ripper said, let's go in parts 😛
The Darkmoon Fair: that great friend of the professions
With the Black Moon Fair you can save 5 points without having to do many things or large expenses. The kitchen mission is frogs. You only need to carry 5 flour and ready.
Not everything is pretty, the Fair has 3 drawbacks: it lasts 1 week, it is the 1st Sunday of each month and it only allows you that profession mission in each event (if you return a month you can do it again). Still, 5 points for such a simple thing saves you from many expenses, especially in the final stretch.
1-600
Get close to Draenor and defeat mobs until it comes out draenor. Right now it falls very easily. In the dungeons and raids of Draenor they fall like hotcakes (in the first Highmaul pull I did the other day I fell 2 at once, in the rest of the pulls I got sick of them).
Well, thanks to draenor we unlock 2 recipes that you will have to cook up to at least 600: sand y hot.
Each recipe gives you 5 cooking points, so you would need a total of 600 fish. It is a lot and it can scare such an amount but currently it is the easiest way to climb. There are several methods to achieve this, from buying lots at auction that are price tagged or fishing in Draenor. My advice: put Draenor's dead resources to use with the Trading Post. It's the fastest way to get resources from Draenor without leaving the citadel or spending a buck at the auction.
As you cook these recipes, you will discover 12 Draenor recipes that we will need to continue climbing.
600-650
With the previous part we have already learned the following recipes:
To get to 650 what we will do is cook 5 fish recipes and 5 meat recipes, so we need 50 pieces of fish and 25 meats. I do not specify the exact pieces since all of each section give the same points, so roll for the one that gives you the most anger or with the one with the most mats at hand.
As you cook these recipes, you will discover 6 Draenor recipes that we will need to continue climbing.
650-675
With the previous part we have already learned the following recipes:
Now each recipe calls for 5 Draenor meat and 5 fish dishes, so we should have saved it so we didn't have to do them all over again (the ones we cooked in part 600-650). We will need a total of 25 meat dishes, 25 fish dishes and 5 Draenor plants. As in the previous one, I do not specify the exact pieces since all of each section give the same points, so shoot for the one that gives you the most anger or with the one with the most mats at hand.
675-700
Before getting down to business, we must do one important thing: Unlock Nomi's Culinary Research in Dalaran. To start the little chain we only need to learn 1 Legion recipe. Upon learning it Nomi will appear by our side and give us hands.
The next mission list asks us to learn another 6 Legion recipes. Anyone can but the easiest to get are:
- tartar: Drop from oso.
- barracuda: Reward of murlocs, complete the chain of King Mrgl-Mrgl.
- Crow: Reward of leon, completes the Hemet Nesingwary chain.
- gill moss: Reward of leon, completes the Cecily Radcliffe chain.
- ley: Drop from myonix.
- lead: Reward of moral. The string starts with message, has a decently high drop on all Azsuna murlocs.
- drug bar: Random drop from Highmountain Dogbars.
As soon as you have the 6 recipes, turn in the mission and start investigating to get ranks for these recipes. There are other recipes that we will need later but that can be investigated right now:
- salad: It is investigated with Crow o koi.
- bacon: It is investigated with bacon.
- special: It is investigated with queen, perch o barracuda.
- feast: It is investigated with ley o koi.
- source: It is investigated with egg.
- fish: It is investigated with mackerel o koi.
- magister: It is investigated with salmon o steak.
While you are investigating these recipes, collect sooooooo many mats that you will need and go up with corvo with salt. For the 25 points we will need 125 thin, 250 sea salt and 250 pepper.
Any of the 6 recipes is valid but the most affordable, "cheap" and that I recommend is corvo with salt, thin they have a fairly high drop in animals.
700-750
Before getting into garlic go to the cooking instructor in Dalaran to move up the cooking rank.
As in the previous range, cook again corvo with salt but only if you have it at rank 3If not, it will not give you any points and you have to investigate until it comes out. For the 50 points we will need 275 thin, 550 sea salt and 550 pepper.
750-800
Now comes the fun part of cooking, where you will end up bald from so much that you will pull your hair out. At this point all 6 Dalaran research recipes or part of them should be ranked 3. If not, keep researching, the rank 2 recipes turn gray at 780. You are going to spend a lot of materials between investigations and that are the "fattest" recipes in the kitchen.
At this point there is no easy or better recipe to carry, always cook the recipe with which you have more materials on hand, at rank 3 or both in the best case.
