Azeroth-Vision presents… rising in Cataclysm… A peripheral vision!
This is a small guide of tips that will help you level up in Cataclysm. It is not intended to be a step-by-step guide to each mission or what is the best route and chain of missions to go up to 85, but it may help you if you find yourself lost once the expansion starts.
Before starting to level up in this new expansion we must take into account several very important factors for this:
First of all, how many friends / boyfriends do you want to lose? This is that hard. Take it on. The life of the leveler is only and exclusively for that, his mind and body are focused on it, turn off the mobile, disconnect the landline (do not break the rosette that you run out of internet and then you will suffer the so-called convulsive-dependent effect, which will make you give yourself cakes for lelo). If you work, ask for vacations or rather request a leave due to pain in the neck and fingers / hands, which is what you will suffer after playing so many hours. Buy provisions, the typical, beer, risketos and little else ...
If you already have all that prepared, now comes other decisions, no less important and more technical, what Addons to use? What modified ultra-minimal interface will I need to be the fastest?
The answer is complicated, but thanks to the fruit of hours of meditation and my overdeveloped intelligence I will share it with the entire Spanish-speaking community (and the community of my block as well).

Pre-Cataclysm Preparation
As a good forecaster, the night before you will leave everything ready to get down to work as soon as the servers open. One of the questions you may ask yourself is… Where do I put my hearthstone?
Cataclysm is the return to Azeroth so the most logical thing is in Orgrimmar / Stormwind. Since all the events and missions of the new expansion start or end there, so we will save a lot of time. You may think that it is a good idea to put the stone in Dalaran but it is not a good idea, considering that the portals to the main cities will have disappeared.
When Cataclysm begins, already in your main city, go to the area of the Griffins or Zeppelins (depending on the faction you play in) and look for the flight instructor who will teach you the Flight Master License. It will cost you 250 g and it is essential to level up.
It is also recommended to learn the new profession of archeology, as it will grant you experience when you discover new objects in the zones corresponding to your level. I recommend that you stop by our review of Archeology in Cataclysm to find out where you can find the instructors in each city.
I do not recommend that you worry about the equipment. Rather forget about him as you will fully equip yourself on Mount Hyjal / Vashj'ir and Deepholm (277 fullequip to the baton !!)
Going up from 80 to 85
All the previous missions to access each of the new zones from Cataclysm, they will be delivered to you by two characters found on a notice board near the auction house in Stormwind and near the bank gate in Orgrimmar.
We are going to explain area by area and what to do in each one. But first of all, you may be wondering which is better, going to Vashj'ir or going to Mount Hyjal.
In this small guide of recommendations we highly recommend heading to Mount Hyjal. Vashj'ir is fine, don't get me wrong, but he wastes a lot of time in the water. The areas are quite large and in the first part we will not be able to move at full speed underwater and many times we will find ourselves a little disoriented underwater.
You may be thinking that everyone will opt for the same and doing missions in Mount Hyjal will be more complicated due to the initial overcrowding but I am sure that, even so, Mount Hyjal will be much better than Vashj'ir.
Recommended areas in order:
- Mount hyjal (80 to 82)
- To inflate (82 to 83)
- Uldum (83 to 84)
- Twilight Highlands (84 to 85)
Mount Hyjal - 80 to 82
Here we will go up the first two levels. The previous missions are simple: Talk to two characters, take a portal to Claro de Luna and jump on a dragon.
We will have to do all the missions of Mount Hyjal, they are easy and fast, to be able to move in a flying mount. If for any reason we have not reached 82 before doing the mission, The fire lord, which is the last mission in this area, do some dungeons to get to 82 although it will be rare since we will surely have the double experience bonus for rest.
Deepholm - 82 to 83
Very simple previous mission too, you will get it in the new zone of the portals in Stormwind / Orgrimmar. Talk to the two characters that are waiting for you there, they will create a portal to the Maelstrom, where you will speak with Thrall and enter Deepholm.
In this area we must be very attentive, since during the course of the missions you will receive a series of clues that will take you to a chain of missions that will give you almost half of all the missions in the area. Don't skip them because otherwise you won't get to 83. So be careful !!
It is certainly where we will begin to see the potential of Cataclysm and the new types of missions and the different types of approach that Blizzard has introduced in this expansion.
Uldum - 83 to 84
Once again a simple mission at the beginning. You will have to fly to Tanaris (see map). There it will require you to ride a kind of horse, a little bigger, yellow in color, that has two protrusions and has a long tongue that sticks out when it runs, what is it? Yes!! A camel. If I stay a bit too ... but from the beginning we will see the effort that Blizzard has put into this area.
Most of the missions are accompanied by "cutscenes" that involve your character: Awesome!
It is a fairly small area, with many missions, a lot of experience and above all fun.
Twilight Highlands 84-85
As soon as you reach level 84, return to Stormwind / Orgrimmar and obtain the quest that will take you to Twilight Highlands. In case you are from the Alliance, you will have a series of missions accompanied by Prince Anduin himself. If on the contrary you are Horde (Elune does not want it), you will have to go to Azshara to discover the new Goblin area, where you will first do a few missions there and continue on a long boat trip.
