Hey good! How is life for Azeroth? Today we bring you the Protection Paladin guide with basic tips for the class, recommended gems and enchantments, talents and, of course, the best equipment for this patch. Let's get started!
Paladin Protection
This is the paladin's call: protect the weak, bring justice to the unjust, and eliminate evil from the darkest corners of the world.
Strengths
- It is one of the specializations with the highest defensive cds they have.
- It adapts to any situation.
- It has its own healings.
Weak points
- Has little mobility.
- Doesn't do much area damage.
Modifications in patch 7.3.5
- There have been no changes in this patch.
Talents
Following the same line as previous guides, I will bring you several ways to face your enemies and different ways to develop the encounters, be it massive objectives or just single-objective encounters. As in the previous guide, choose the ones that you like the most or are close to your possibilities.
-Talents in yellow: they can become the best depending on which fights, in this case, they are the best for single-objective encounters.
-Talents in blue: you can choose them in case you do not like the ones that appear in yellow, there will not be much difference in the DPS.
-Talents in green: these talents are the best to do much more damage in areas, that is, encounters with more than three objectives.
- Level 15: Blessed Hammer
- Level 30: Bastion of Light
- Level 45: Fist of Justice
- Level 60: Hidalgo
- Level 75: Guardian Hand
- Level 90: Judgment of Light
- Level 100: Righteous Protector
lvl 15
- Sacred shield: Increases your block chance by 15%, allows you to block spells, and each successful block deals (75% attack power) p. Holy damage to your attacker.
- Blessed hammer: Throw a blessed hammer that spirals, dealing (57.4% attack power) damage. Holy damage to enemies it hits, causing 12% less damage to you on their next auto attack.
- Consecrated hammer: Hammer of the Righteous has no cooldown. Hammer of the Righteous, Shield of the Righteous, and Hand of the Protector now always get the Consecration buff. Hammer of the Righteous, Shield of the Righteous, and Light of the Protector now always get the Consecration buff
In this first branch of talents and as a talent recommended by default for its usefulness, Blessed hammer It will be the talent that we will choose under any situation since it adapts to any of them. Talent grants us both survivability and damage, making it the indispensable talent.
Sacred shield It can be a good choice if we really need the effect it grants, as well as encounters in which it can be used.
Consecrated hammer not a recommended option as in terms of survivability damage ratio, both of the above talents are a better option than this one
lvl 30
- First avenger: Avenger's Shield now deals 50% increased damage to the first target hit, and Great Crusader has a 10% increased chance to trigger.
- Bastion of Light: Immediately grants 3 charges of Shield of the Righteous.
- Judgment of the crusader: Judgment now has 2 charges, and Grand Crusader also grants a Judgment charge.
Bastion of Light It is, personally, the talent that can best serve us in a raid. This talent will increase our damage in single-target encounters and must be used in conjunction with burst.
First avenger It is the second recommended talent for this branch since, in terms of individual survival, this one is much better.
Judgment of the crusader He is a good talent for survival in encounters with large amounts of targets.
lvl 45
- Fist of justice: Judgment reduces the remaining cooldown of Hammer of Justice by 10 sec.
- Repentance: Forces an enemy target to meditate, incapacitating them. Can be used against demons, dragons, giants, humanoids, and undead.
- Blinding light: Emits dazzling light in all directions, blinding enemies within 10 yards and causing them to become disoriented for 6 sec. Non-Holy damage will interrupt the disorientation effect.
In this branch of talents, the choice will be somewhat optional, depending on the meeting obviously. Fist of justice It is the option that I would choose to raide while, Blinding light, I would use it for mythicals. Repentance It may have some utility but… your choice does not end up being profitable.
lvl 60
- Ward Blessing: Blesses a party or raid member and protects them from all magical attacks for 10 sec. Cannot be used on a Withdrawal target. Causes Withdrawal for 30 sec.
- Hidalgo: Divine Steed now has 2 charges.
- Aura of Retribution: Protects you and all party or raid members within 60 yards with an aura that deals (4.5% attack power) p. Holy damage when you take melee damage.
Hidalgo It is the best option for this branch due to the mobility it offers.
Ward Blessing he's a great talent in situations where we can't avoid magic damage.
Aura of Retribution it's a pretty bad option as it's weak enough not to consider it.
lvl 75
- Protector's hand: Summons the Light to heal a friendly target for 30% of their missing health. Consecration: While within your Consecration, Healing from Hand of the Protector is increased by 20%
- Knight Templar: Reduces the cooldown of Divine Steed by 50% and reduces all damage taken while mounted on your Divine Steed by 20%.
- Final battle: When you use Divine Shield you also taunt all targets within 15 yards for 8 sec.
Protector's hand It is a good talent and, in fact, the recommended talent for this branch. It will help us both in our individual healing and in the survival of a friendly target.
Knight Templar he's a great talent but very situational. If we need that extra mobility, it will undoubtedly be a good option. However, we must prioritize survival over mobility.
lvl 90
- Aegis of light: Channel an Aegis of Light that protects you and all your allies within 10 yards of you for 6 sec, reducing all damage taken by 20%.
- Consecrated soil: Up to 6 allies within your Consecration receive (8.3% ability power). healing every 1 sec and enemies within your Consecration have their movement speed reduced by 50%.
- Judgment of Light: Judgment now applies Judgment of Light to the target, causing the next 40 successful attacks against the target to heal for (20% ability power). the attacker.
Judgment of Light in this case, the best option of this branch of talents since the healing it offers us is very powerful. We are tanks, we seek survival above all else.
Aegis of light It is an option to highlight if the damage received is not individual and is shared with the gang. In certain encounters where the damage is distributed among the different players, the use of this talent can be of brutal importance.
Consecrated soil this talent is often used in mythicals.
lvl 100
- Righteous protector: Shield of the Righteous reduces the remaining cooldown on Light of the Protector and Vengeful Wrath by 3 sec.
- Seraph: The Light temporarily amplifies your power and increases your Haste, Critical Strike, Mastery, and Versatility by 1000. Consumes up to 2 charges of Shield of the Righteous and lasts 8 sec per charge.
- Last defender: Each enemy within 8 yards reduces the damage you take and increases the damage you deal by 3%. This effect has diminishing returns.
Righteous protector it is a good option to increase our individual healing.
Seraph This talent will increase our damage considerably, as well as our survivability.
Artefact
Before attaching the image that will help you to make the best paths in your artifact weapon, I must warn you that at level 110 you will directly unlock Artifact Knowledge at level 41, obtaining an artifact point multiplier of 5.200.000 %. Perhaps it is best to wait at maximum level to worry about the roads and not waste a lot of time in this regard.
Secondary statistics
Haste> Versatility> Mastery> Critical Strike
Enchantments
- Enchant Neck - Mark of the Heavy Hide: Permanently enchant a necklace to sometimes increase armor by 3000. for 10 sec (SURVIVAL) / Enchant Neck - Mark of the Hidden Satyr: Permanently enchant a necklace to summon a satyr from time to time, which will launch a Bolt of Nightmare at your enemy, dealing damage (DMG).

Practical tips
- The rotation for this specialization is as follows: Avenger's Shield (whenever we have it available)> Judgment > Blessed hammer (Talent)> Consecration > Hammer of the Righteous.
- Protector light It is the paladin's most powerful ability since it will heal us for 30% of the life that we lack regardless of the situation. Using it on 60-65% of our health will be a waste. Although it can be used every so often, we will always leave at least one load for the compromised moments.
- Red-hot defender it's a pretty powerful defensive cd. Available every 2 minutes.
- Shield of the Righteous this ability will deal damage and grant us damage reduction.
- Guardian of the ancient kings this defensive cd is available every 5 minutes.
- Divine steed (Talent) can be used to increase our mobility.
- Vengeful Wrath must be used as burst, always at cd.
- Divine shield makes us invulnerable to everything but will also reduce our damage dealt. This ability should be used as a last resort if we are about to die.
- Vengeance shield this ability acts as a shield.
- The paladin has buffs that can be used on any friendly target: Protection blessing, Greater blessing of kings y Greater Wisdom Blessing.
- Laying on of hands will heal the target for 100% of your maximum health.
- Blessing of freedom will allow the friendly target invulnerability to movement reductions.
- The paladin has a melee cut called Reprimand.
- The paladin has a 70% movement reduction that can be used from a distance call Hand of impediment.
- Judgment hand is the default taunt of the paladin.
- Eye of tyr It is the ability of the Protection Paladin artifact weapon, granting us area damage and damage reduction. A good ability for encounters with a large number of targets.
