Affliction Warlock - PVE Guide - Patch 7.3.5

sorcerer affliction cover 7.3.5

Very good! How's that going buddy? Today I bring you a guide for the Affliction Warlock in which I will show you which are the best talents for this patch, equipment and consumables, among others, to get the full potential of this specialization.

Affliction Warlock

As masters of the demonic arts, Warlocks spread vileness and summon demons to assist in combat.

Strengths

  • Has great potential for damage in single-target encounters.
  • Switching between objectives will not reduce our DPS.

Weak points

  • Has very little sustained damage in single target encounters.
  • The damage will slowly increase as we use abilities.

Modifications in patch 7.3.5

  • There have been no changes in this patch.

Modifications in patch 7.3

  • Health Stone now heals for 25% of total health.

Skills

Damage Over Time Skills

  • Agony- Our strongest damage over time effect that also has a chance to spawn Soul Shards.
  • Corruption: a damage effect on the mean time.
  • Suck life (talent)
  • Unstable affliction: Strong time damage effect that consumes a soul fragment. If the target dies under the effect of this spell, the soul fragment is returned to us.
  • Phantom singularity (talent): damage over time effect in area that also heals us.
  • Own (talent): damage over time effect that increases the damage we deal on the enemy.

Other active skills

  • Seed of Corruption: ability that causes that, when our target receives damage, the seed explodes and applies Corruption to nearby enemies.
  • Drain soul: channeled that we will use as a filler when we don't have another spell to use.
  • Life transfusion: we will use it when we need mana, or in the case of bringing the talent Empowered Life Transfusion, to maintain the 10% bonus damage buff.
  • Demonic circle (talent): grants us mobility, allowing us to teleport to the place where we have placed the circle.
  • Burning momentum (talent): increases our movement speed in exchange for losing some life.

cooldowns

Pets

  • Felhunter: it will be the one that gives us the most damage, since it increases our damage effects over time.
  • Imp - Usually will not be used.
  • Abyssal: very useful for leveling or doing missions, since it acts as a tank.
  • Succubus: Usually will not be used.
  • Apocalyptic Guard: in the case of wearing a Grimoire of Supremacy, our pet of choice in most encounters.
  • Infernal: in the case of wearing a supremacy grimoire, our pet of preference in encounters where areas and mythical + predominate.

Talents

Next I will leave you several ways to face your enemies and different ways of developing the encounters, be it massive objectives or encounters with just one objective. As in the previous guide, choose the ones that you like the most or are close to your possibilities.

-Talents in yellow: they can become the best depending on which fights, in this case, they are the best for single-objective encounters.
-Talents in blue: you can choose them in case you don't like the ones that appear in yellow, there won't be much difference in DPS, that is, the best option after yellow.
-Green Talents: These talents are best for doing vastly more damage in areas, in other words, encounters with more than three targets.

  • Level 15: Maleficent Yoke
  • Level 30: Contagion
  • Level 45: Demonic Circle
  • Level 60: Soul Harvest
  • Level 75: Demon Skin
  • Level 90: Grimoire of Supremacy
  • Level 100: Soul Conduit

sorcerer talents affliction

Talents with a red cross don't necessarily have to be worthless. We recommend that you read the notes that we will post below to understand the reasons why we have crossed them out.

lvl 15

  • Own: A ghostly soul possesses the target, inflicting (500% ability power) on them. Shadow damage and increases your damage dealt to him by 15% for 10 sec. If the target dies, Haunt's cooldown is reset.
  • Squirm in agony: Agony's damage can now add up to 15 stacks.
  • Evil yoke: While channeling Drain Soul, your damage over time effects deal 25% more damage to the target.

Evil yoke It is the best option for single objective matches.

Squirm in agony This talent is used for encounters where there are two or three priority objectives.

Own It is used for encounters where there are more than four objectives.

lvl 30

  • Contagion: Deals 15% more damage to targets affected by your Unstable Affliction.
  • Absolute corruption: Corruption is now permanent, dealing 25% more damage. Duration reduced to 24 seconds against players.
  • Empowered Life Transfusion: Life Tap increases your damage dealt by 10% for 20 sec.

Contagion is a talent used for encounters where there are 1-3 targets.

Absolute corruption used for +4 target encounters.

Empowered Life Transfusion it is not very useful for this specialization. The other two options will be much better.

lvl 45

  • Demonic circle: Summons a demonic circle for 15 min, allowing you to cast it again to teleport to its location and remove all movement slowing effects. Limited to 1.
  • Deadly spiral: Terrifies a fleeing enemy target and incapacitates them for 3 sec. Heals you for X% of maximum health.
  • Howl of terror: Emits a terrifying howl causing X enemies within 10 yards to flee in terror and become disoriented for 20 sec. Damage can cancel the effect.

Like the other two specs, this talent branch doesn't get any changes. Although I personally like to use Deadly spiral because I still don't have too much equipment and they blow me up right away, this branch will pull more towards the personal. Demonic circle can be used for both PVE and PVP, in this way we can wait until the last second to launch our Chaos discharge and cast this ability to not take damage from any source ... if we have an area under our feet. Howl of terror not a good option for formed band groups.

lvl 60

  • Phantom singularity: Places a phantom singularity on the target that consumes the life of all enemies within 15 yards, dealing [8 * (180% ability power)]. damage over 16 sec and heals you for 20% of the damage dealt.
  • Sowing seeds: Seed of Corruption now embeds a Demon Seed in 2 additional nearby enemies.
  • Soul Harvest: Increases your and your pet's damage by X%. Lasts 12 sec, increased by X sec for each target affected by your (Affliction -> Agony) (Demonology -> Fatality) (Destruction -> Immolate), up to a maximum of X s.

Sowing seeds This talent is used for encounters with more than four targets.

Phantom singularity y Soul Harvest give almost the same potential for damage but, to choose, we can use Soul Harvest as a priority talent.

lvl 75

  • Demon skin: Your Soul Parasite's absorb now passively recharges at a rate of X% of maximum health every 5 seconds, and can absorb up to X% of maximum health.
  • Burning momentum: Increases your movement speed by X%, but also damages you by X% of your maximum health every 5 sec. Movement reduction effects cannot drop your movement speed below X% of normal movement speed. Lasts until canceled.
  • Dark pact: Sacrifice X% of your demon's current health to gain a shield with X% of sacrificed health for 20 sec. If you do not have a demon, your health will be sacrificed. Can be used while suffering loss of control effects.

I will not deny that I always take the coolest talents whatever the circumstance. That is why you should never listen to me when I say "personally" ... really.

Personally for this branch I usually use Burning momentum.

The best option for this branch of talent is Demon skin. It is used in encounters where we should not have a lot of mobility and the damage we receive is not so high.

Dark pact currently has no significant utility. It can be used for certain encounters but, for the moment, we will choose any of the two above.

lvl 90

  • Grimoire of Supremacy: You can maintain control of even greater demons indefinitely, allowing you to summon an apocalyptic guard or infernal as a permanent pet.
  • Grimoire of servitude: Summons a second demon to fight for you for X, dealing X% more damage. Has a 1,5 min cooldown. Upon being summoned, the demon will instantly use one of its special abilities.
  • Grimoire of Sacrifice: Sacrifice your demon to gain Demonic Power, causing your spells to also sometimes inflict Xp. additional Shadow damage to the target and other enemies within X yards. Lasts 1 hour X until you summon a demon.

For this branch of talents we will choose the Grimoire of Supremacy  for any meeting in a raid.

Grimoire of servitude it's a good talent to increase burst damage a bit more.

Grimoire of Sacrifice he's a good talent for more than four-goal matches

lvl 100

  • Embrace of Death: Agony, Corruption, Unstable Affliction, Seed of Corruption Phantom singularity and Drain Soul deal up to 50% increased damage against targets below 35% health. The damage dealt is higher the lower the health of the targets.
  • Suck life: Sucks the life essence from the target, inflicting 0 damage. damage over 15 sec and heals you for 60% of the damage dealt.
  • Soul conduit: Each Soul Shard you spend has an X% chance to be restored.

Embrace of Death This talent is a good option but, in damage, Soul conduit it is much more viable.

Suck life It is not a recommended talent for PVE.

Soul conduit is the best option for this branch of talents.

Artefact

Before attaching the image that will help you to make the best paths in your artifact weapon, I must warn you that at level 110 you will directly unlock Artifact Knowledge at level 41, obtaining an artifact point multiplier of 5.200.000 %. Perhaps it is best to wait at maximum level to worry about the roads and not waste a lot of time in this regard.

Secondary statistics

1 Objective: Mastery => Haste> Critical Strike> Versatility

Various objectives: Haste> Mastery> Critical Strike> Versatility

  • Mastery: increases the damage done by our damage over time effects by a percentage equal to the percentage of mastery we have. The ideal is to achieve 120% -130% mastery
Critical Strike: Increases the critical strike chance of our spells, such as Unstable affliction or the outbreak of our Seed of Corruption o Soul flame. The ideal is to have around 20% critical.
Haste: Increases our spell casting speed and the number of ticks of our damage over time effects. The ideal is to carry around 20%, somewhat higher than our critical percentage.
  • Tip: for mythical cornerstones or bosses where we are going to take great advantage of the Seed of Corruption and the outbreak of Soul flame, It is convenient to take a little more critical, even if we lower the amount of mastery.

  • Keep Corruption on the main target.
  • Use Seed of Corruption on the main target.
  • Keep sucking life on the objectives of the meeting.
  • Use Life Transfusion when we need mana.
  • Cast Unstable Affliction on the primary target when we have less than three Soul Fragments.
  • Drain soul will be our main ability when we have all the marks on the target or the CDs on cooldown.
  • Summon our demons every time we have them on cd.

Hello, thanks for the guide but I liked the guide you had before much more, this one is missing some things that before if they were not?

    1.    Adriel Diaz said

Hey very good! I appreciate you taking a few minutes to comment. The truth is that the guides lately I am making them fast and going directly to the point to facilitate the choice but you are very right in terms of the quality of the article. The reduction has taken away some important tips and I hope that fixing and refilling it will not take me long. I hope to have it ready as soon as possible. Thank you once again and we hope you have a good night. A hug (> ^. ^)> <(^. ^ <)!

in a constructive way I tell you that the image of the artifact weapon does not correspond to the one that goes with this class. very good guide and thank you very much.

Whoops! Because a colleague told me. You were referring to the image, which I have put the Demonology one. What a failure! I apologize for the nonsense. XDDDDD
