The big question: What do I put in my citadel?

Aloha! Before starting with this guide and tips for your citadel, tell you that as there are many situations in front of your citadel and, obviously, I cannot list them all If you have any questions about a special situation (example: I am pvbut to death and I want to make my citadel profitable as pvp) do not hesitate to ask it in the comments that I will gladly ask you 🙂

The big question: What do I put in my citadel?

The essential thing before we start eating the coconut to see what I put, what I remove or what I upload is to focus on raising your citadel to 3 in order to have the maximum number of plots available. At each level our citadel will increase and be aesthetically modified:

  • Level 1: a big one, a small one.
  • Level 2: one large, one medium and two small.
  • Level 3: two large, two medium and three small.

As you can see, at each level several plots will open to build. In each level he will ask us for some missions or directly to do Mr. Monopoly and pull our wallet:

If we already have our plot number 3 or we have just completed it, as Jack the Ripper would say, we go in parts ...

Each building in its place

Logically, we cannot plant all the large buildings or those that we like and only have at most two or one free site. Let's list what can be put in each plot.

Employing the buildings

Professions:

  • Scribe's Dependencies.
  • Tailoring emporium.
  • Enchantment study.
  • Forging.
  • Alchemy laboratory.
  • Leatherworking.
  • Herb Garden: Materials for alchemy and inscription.
  • Lowlands Excavation / Ice Wall Mine: Materials for blacksmithing, jewelry and engineering.
  • Warehouse: Increase the number of orders for all our buildings in the citadel.
  • Cuadra: It produces leather for furskins and furs for tailoring, but it is also the only building that will give us Wild blood on orders.
  • Trading post: We will have at our disposal all the Draenor materials, they are purchased with Citadel resources.

For Citadel resources:

  • Sawmill: Citadel resources by wood. RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNINGS IN CIUDADELA.
  • Trading post: Random orders, vary daily.

For followers and fleet:

  • Moonfall Inn / Icewall Tavern: Search for specific followers weekly.
  • Barracks: Increases the number of active followers by +5 (does not affect the fleet), also activates the "bodyguard" mode so that a follower can accompany us throughout Draenor.
  • Dwarf Bunker / War Mill: Upgrades for Followers.
  • Trading Post: Riebones.
  • Scrapping: Crates often bring upgrade gear for followers.
  • Sawmill: The shipyard is a black hole for resources, upgrade them ask for 500 to 1000 Citadel resources.

Crazy about pets and toys:

PVE:

  • Dwarf Bunker / War Mill: Grants 1 of 3 weekly Inevitable Fate Stamp free.
  • Tower of Mages / Enclosure of Spirits: The portals leave us very close to the Draenor gangs and create a rune on the ground granting all our attacks to be critical (only works outdoors).
  • Low Moon Inn / Ice Wall Tavern: Special missions.
  • Trading post: Reputation bonus.

PVP:

  • Gladiator's Sanctum: Orders can bring equipment and pvp tokens, the building bonus grants you have less than 35% health, all damage taken is reduced by 50% in Draenor zones.
  • Mage Tower / Spirit Enclosure: Create a rune on the ground granting all our attacks to be critical.
  • Gnomish Workshop / Goblin Workshop: Allows you to create a Siege Vehicle.

To the mess, starting with your citadel.

First of all, say that this is already very personal and quite complicated to list. The citadel would be a projection of your roles in the game. What would come from being that a person who sweats from followers, floats and is only interested in the PVP would not have the same buildings active as another person who exclusively uses his citadel to farm materials. I will try to explain it in a global way.
At level 1:
We have a large and a small plot open.

In this case, as you do not have too many construction options, it is best to focus exclusively on raising it to the minimum 2.

At level 2:
We have open a large plot, a medium and two small ones. Here we can start the interesting thing.

In the medium, without a doubt, I would put the Sawmill that to raise the citadel to 3 we will need resources at the tip of the shovel. The other option would be the Trading Post but it does not provide as many resources as the Sawmill but it has special vendors for materials, reputation, auction ... I prefer the Sawmill in this case, later it will be changed to the Post which now is preferable to catch as many resources and faster the better.

In the little ones, when we are 2, we can start to set up our main professions. While we are accumulating resources with these small positions we can collect special profession materials and make sales with it.

In the big one I would put the Barracks because of the followers' missions, there are many missions that bring a lot of resources, even gold. The more followers you have, the more missions you can send at the same time. Good to keep in mind.

At level 3:
We have two large plots open, two medium and three small.

In the 3rd small we decide if we want to have the bank more at hand and increase our orders with the Warehouse or set up the Scrapping to get equipment for followers and increase our probability of success in missions.

In the medium we will not remove the Sawmill until we have fully recovered on the issue of resources. Remember that Shipyard eats a lot of resources and is a key piece in the chain of the legendary ring. In the other plot we can put the Commercial Post to help us a little with the issue of resources.

In the big one that remains I would put the Tower of Wizards / Enclosure of the Spirits. Not only does it give apexis and the auto complete token but it also has travel portals and in their orders they can drop you Abolition stone y Elemental rune.

If you are already finishing the chain of the ring and your resources are through the roof you can "experiment". My advice is that if you want to get an achievement, pet, mount, etc ... do that position and raise it to the maximum. If you already have everything completed and you do not have these things to unlock, go to positions with a broad purpose such as Tower of Mages / Enclosure of Spirits for its critical rune, Sanctum of the Gladiator for the PVP and its resistance bonus or Bunker Dwarf / War Mill for their free stamps.

Setting an example

Right now I have these active buildings:

  • Warehouse: Bank and increased orders.
  • Enchantment Study: 1st Profession.
  • Alchemy Laboratory: 2nd profession.
  • Gladiator's Sanctum: Orders bring me gold, salable pvp gear (if I don't need it), apexis, and pvp tokens. The bonus increases survivability.
  • Trading position: Bonuses in reputations and if I have surplus resources I buy bags of gold or materials to sell.
  • Barracks: Bodyguards and increase in followers.
  • Wizard Tower / Spirit Enclosure: Tokens are great for me and portals save me a lot of time between trips 😛

With the small plots

With two of the three plots it was clear to me and to this day I still do not modify them, reserved for my two professions. With the other I already had doubts but I was pulling in the following way.
I use the fan table a lot so I opted for the Scrapping option since with the boxes that they drop you in the fan missions you get quite a lot of equipment tokens for followers. As soon as I had my followers with enough life was when I changed my Scrap for the Warehouse to increase all orders to +15 and have the bank more handy instead of having to walk with the portal to Ashran.

With medium pitches

As soon as I had the first medium plot unlocked, don't hesitate, the Sawmill. Why don't you doubt it? Remember that to go up to level 3 the citadel asks us for the gross amount of 2000 Citadel resources. If we add to this the shipyard expenses (aka the black hole of resources), the missions of followers, the construction of buildings, etc ... it is very possible that you stay with minimum resources or that you directly do not get at all of the previous.
When I was able to raise it to 3, I decided to continue with the Sawmill to my regret as I needed the Shipyard due to the legendary ones. In this case, I was better off going to the Tavern, so I could get some extra specific followers, pets, and toys.
A long time later I was more comfortable with the resources with which I was able to get rid of the Sawmill. It had 3 viable options: Block, Tabernacle and Trading Post. La Cuadra had it half discarded, I don't need Wild blood since I have too many Primal spirit in case someday (which for now was not the case) I need many. Discarded the Block, I kept the Tabernacle and Trading Post

With large pitches

In this case I did not have too many headaches, I left and continue with the Barracks and the Precinct. The Barracks for the followers bonus, I use the followers table a lot, and the Precinct for the portals and the auto complete mission of followers / fleet tokens.

I hope it has helped you and above all remember: a lot of patience! That Rome was not built in a day 😉
