The challenge of the Tower of Magi, specifically in the mission End the risen threat It is based, as in the others, on knowledge of the specialty, a certain skill, and yet in this the higher level of the object can even give us the odd problem in the last phase, as we will see later.

This challenge consists of 7 phases, between which we can recover mana and even wait for them to refresh skill cooldowns.

We know that the skins earned by this challenge will not be obtainable in the next expansion, so we still have a few months to go before we can show them off in the future through our beloved Transmogrification.

  • Velen's future vision (especially for cures to npcs in phase 5)
  • caress (in combination with the talent iron-bark will provide us with an extra both healing and damage mitigation)

  • Prydaz, Xavaric's masterpiece (useful especially in the first phases but be very careful with wearing it in the last phase due to its shield since it can hinder the essential mechanics in phase 7 of lowering our life)

Recommended Consumables

The challenge is divided into seven phases:

Our group will consist of a Warrior, who will perform the role of tank (Commander Jarod Shadowsong), a role dps melee, rogue (Callie carrington) and a rank dps role, hunter (Granny Marl).

In addition to the mechanics of each phase, we will keep in the friendly npc that will receive the most damage, normally our tank Flower of life y iron-bark when he takes more intense damage, as well as keeping the whole group tics of Rejuvenations and keeping on his feet Flowering.

Combat phases

Phase 1

In this phase we will find several waves of hostile npcs, which are of 3 types:

  • ARBALESTA RESURRECTED CORRUPT: Its mana sting ability if it reaches the player, drains all their mana, which is quite likely to cause the death of some npc of the group due to lack of healing and therefore the end of the challenge. Every so often he will do this skill, marked with a big blue arrow on the ground.
  • CORRUPT RESURRECTED MAGICIAN: His Arcane Lightning Attack ability accumulates power over time and does more and more damage to the entire group.
  • CORRUPT RESURRECTED SOLDIER: The ability of this npc knife dance deals damage to the whole group. Every so often it fixes, normally the player and makes a melee attack against him.

First wave

ARBALESTA RESURRECTED CORRUPT: To counter his mana sting, we have two options, use Typhoon to interrupt the ability, or to place ourselves behind our Jarod tank so that it is he who receives the attack, always being careful with his life because he will receive a lot of damage.

Second wave

CORRUPT RESURRECTED MAGICIAN+ARBALESTA RESURRECTED CORRUPT: Our priority will be CORRUPT RESURRECTED MAGICIAN, as it deals a lot of damage to random targets in the group, in addition to the aforementioned accumulating arcane damage. We will always try to avoid that it exceeds 3 accumulations, for this we will use Typhoon to lower your accumulations to zero.

With the ARBALESTA RESURRECTED CORRUPT we will use the strategy of using, preferably our tank, as a shield, thus leaving Typhoon exclusively to interrupt the magician.

Third wave

CORRUPT RESURRECTED MAGICIAN+CORRUPT RESURRECTED SOLDIER: First objective, CORRUPT RESURRECTED MAGICIAN, interrupting their accumulations through our Typhoon, although we must remember that we can interrupt several npcs at the same time with this ability, so if the CORRUPT RESURRECTED SOLDIER perform his knife dance we can interrupt them both.

When the CORRUPT RESURRECTED SOLDIER ends with his ability, he will make us Fix, that is, he will fix the player and perform a melee attack on him.

We can escape using Tremulous beast or rooting it with Entangling roots. If we decide not to escape, we have the option to use the bear form and counter the possible damage we receive through iron fur y frenzied feedback.

Fourth wave

CORRUPT RESURRECTED MAGICIAN+ 2 CORRUPT RESURRECTED SOLDIER: The priority once again will be the magician, interrupting his accumulations with Typhoon, and as in the previous phase, trying to take advantage of the fact that this ability is in area to be able to interrupt the two soldiers also their dance of knives.

When the soldiers fixate on us, again we can use Tremulous beast, run, Entangling roots or tank them in bear shape using iron fur y frenzied feedback.

Fifth wave

CORRUPT RESURRECTED MAGICIAN+CORRUPT RESURRECTED SOLDIER+ARBALESTA RESURRECTED CORRUPT: As always the priority is the magician. In this phase we can throw Drums of fury, use Incarnation: Tree of Life and any skills that are necessary to mitigate the incoming damage. Don't be afraid to use cds here.

As in previous phases, in addition to cutting the accumulations of the magician and soldier, we will always also have an eye on the arbalest and her mana sting, preferably using our tank as a shield so that it receives the attack.

And with this wave the first phase ends, we can restore mana, wait for cooldowns to be refreshed, change legendary, talents, etc.

Phase 2

We will have to follow our group into the Torreón.

Phase 3

The player will be left alone in this phase, which consists of several parts. Compared to the first phase, it is very simple, but as always, if we are not attentive, a failure can cost us the challenge. We will have 5 minutes to complete this phase.

We will stick with Flower of life y Rejuvenations to cushion the damage we are going to receive, if things get ugly we use in our bear form iron fur y frenzied feedback.

  • First we appear in a room with several blinking Eyes: these eyes when killed explode and do damage, so we must kill them one by one, keeping our lives full between one and the other. The longer we take, the more damage they do, so although at this stage it is important not to blind ourselves with rushing, the other extreme is not ideal either.
  • The next room consists of a Fel Guard accompanied by 3 bats and two unstable Fel Orbs. These orbs die with a simple blow, but be careful, they regenerate again and one of them wanders around that room, we must avoid being touched by one of these orbs because it will stun us for a few seconds and it could put us in serious trouble, so we must kill the Vile Guard and his bats, always ensuring that the orbs do not regenerate, or if they do, that they do not come in our direction.
  • Once the demon and the bats have been defeated, we will open a door that takes us to some stairs where we will find 4 friendly npcs, and above all an arbalest like the ones in the first phase, which we will ignore at first. We'll deal with the npcs first:
    • One of these npcs runs up and down the stairs scared, be careful, if it gets too close it will scare the player for a few seconds, so it will be our priority and we will use Nature's cure In it, after this we must be quick and heal the other three friendly npcs since their life goes down fast and if it reaches zero they will become elite resurrected soldiers, one can escape us, but two would take a long time to defeat them and possibly not we would pass the phase on time, remember that we have 5 minutes to complete it.
    • For this we will use Rejuvenations over all of them, filling their lives with Regrowth y Swiftmend. We can also use wild growth as a base skill before filling in the other two.
  • We will now reach another part of the stairs, this time filled with unstable fel orbs. We will use Solar fire to inactivate them and we will pass between them, being careful not to touch them even when they are inactive, as they slow down.
  • Finally we will reach a door that we must open and there we will find a Vile Corruptor and three blinking Eyes, these will be priority, as in the first part of this phase, killing them one by one and dodging the laser eyes that the corruptor takes out. We use extra cures or bear form if our HoTs aren't enough. Once we have gotten rid of the blinking eyes, we will end the corruptor and with him this phase.

Phase 4

We meet again with our group, in this phase we can recover mana and wait for them to refresh skills on cooldown.

Phase 5

In this phase we will meet the main boss of the challenge, Lord Erdris Thorn.

Our group will go berserk and they will fight each other, while Lord Erdris Thorn He will walk to the center of the room and try to absorb 3 npcs in several waves that we must raise their lives to before they reach him, while also keeping our group alive while they fight each other.

The priority of cures these npcs that approach the boss, is from left to right as we enter the room. The reason? The npcs that it absorbs in this phase we will have to face them in the next one, that is why we must try to get as few as possible, and if so, make them the least "complicated". The npc on the left is an arbalest, the one in the middle is a magician and the one on the right is a soldier, as we met them in the first phase. The arbalest with its ability to drain all the mana, and the magician with its accumulating damage, for my taste are more dangerous, since after facing them we will not have time to recover mana and / or cooldowns.

We must always keep our group alive as they fight each other, always keeping Rejuvenations in ourselves and the group, in addition to Flower of life y Flowering according to needs in them.

DO NOT we will use in our group Swiftmend since we will need it for the npcs that the boss tries to absorb.

First wave

Potion of Prolonged Power+Incarnation: Tree of Life.

We will use Rejuvenations, Regrowth, and Swiftmend on the approaching npcs, topping off with wild growth to fill their lives to the fullest.

Second wave of npcs

We will use Peace of mind being attentive to the lives of the npcs and if we see that they do not arrive with life to the fullest we fill with Rejuvenations o Regrowth.

Third wave of npcs

If everything has gone well in the previous phases, we will only need to fill the lives of two, so it is time to use beads, and other extras added to our HoTs and other cures.

Phase 6

Here we will face those who Lord Erdris Thorn absorbed, already with our group recovered again, and the difficulty will depend on how the previous phase has gone.

In case of having absorbed 3 npcs, the phase will be simple, varying in what type of npc it is, more than 4 is practically a guaranteed wipe.

The strategy with these npcs will be the same as in the first phase, always watching the mana since once defeated there will be no time to recover mana.

Last phase

And we finally reached the end of the challenge.

Here we will face our own Lord Erdris Thorn.

Although it does not directly cause much damage to our group, we must watch our lives above all.

The boss will jump on the player, leaving a green puddle on the floor, which we must leave in an orderly fashion, taking advantage of the space in the room.

This ability can be interrupted, but We will NOT interrupt you before you leave the first puddle, since it is essential to use it to lower our life for when we put Soul Ignition on us, a bomb that when it explodes will take away from our group the amount of life that you have at that moment.

We use Drums of fury.

The reason why at the beginning of this guide I said that the very high item level can be a problem more than a help, is that we will have to lower our life more, since obviously we will have much more than our group, but the ability of the Boss jumping on the player and leaving the puddle lowers life by a fixed percentage, so if we get too low we run the risk that this ability kills us.

We can also avoid the damage that the boss does us when jumping on us using Tremulous beast or our bear form, in case we look very bad.

If you die before your time, be careful, do not release spirit, if the boss has been at a low percentage of life it is possible that your group will defeat it by themselves and in that case the mission will count the same.
