Hunter's Guide to PvP Survival - Part 1

Survival has been a branch of PvP in the past but never for long. However, since Beastmaster has received some unfortunate changes (wink), I think becoming an explosive expert can be more rewarding. Taking into account that there may be other players who feel displaced by Master of Beasts, this guide is intended and I will try to share the knowledge about the Survival Hunter in player versus player combat.

Please note that it is not an elite guide, nor is it geared towards a professional Hunter in PvP. If someone has a comment, macro or constructive criticism, do not hesitate to share it with everyone.

Let us begin…

Survival Talents - 0/15/56

survival_hunter_pvp_build

These talents are close to 95% of Survival PvP talents, remove or add some points.

Since I don't like to impose talents, let's explain why they are like this:

Beastmaster Talents

No talent has been chosen for these talents. Some hunters may want to add Training in robustness for greater survival security but one of the hallmarks of the Survival branch (as the name suggests) is Health and Survival. These points will serve us for something else and, without them, a good Hunter will be placed on 26,000 points of health.

Marksmanship Talents

Fatal shots, Lethal shots, Sharpen your aim y Aimed Shot they are practically mandatory. Deadly and lethal shots are necessary for explosive damage in PvP but more importantly, they open the way to Aimed Shot. For those players new to PvP, you should know that Aimed Shot is necessary if you plan to do any type of PvP, be it arenas or Battlegrounds.

I have spent a point on To the jugular for a little more DPS but it's a matter of preference. Deals about 300 more points of damage with the pet special when it hits a critical.

Another noteworthy talent in this tree is Centered aim. I didn't choose it because with decent gear, you get around 6% hit, but if you're not at the 5% PvP cap, you'll need to spend a point or two on this talent.

Survival Talents

The distance added by Hawk Eye, is very important for PvP. The further we can be from our goals the better. Improved trackingOn the other hand, it is not that important for PvP. The couple of extra points can make a big difference.

I only recommend a point in Catch because Ice traps can be resisted very often, leaving this talent quite unused. Trap Mastery it's fine for a bit of crowd control and increased damage from traps and Black arrow. Even if Survival instincts will only grant a 4% crit bonus to Explosive shot It would be an essential talent, but it also grants 4% damage reduction.

  • 5/5 Survivor because of the added stamina but also because it is a prerequisite for Hunter vs. Wildlife. Survival Hunters have 30% of their Stamina converted to Attack Power.
  • 1/1 Scatter shot… required.
  • Survival tactics Grants a nice reduction to Trap Resistance but what I like the most is the 4 second reduction in cooldown of Separation.
  • 3/3 TNT and 3/3 Lock and load for explosive damage. Maximizing them is mandatory.
  • 3/3 Hunter vs. Wildlife for the incredible conversion of Stamina to Attack Points for the Hunter and the Mascote. The 3 points represent about 600 points of attack power for the hunter and the pet.
  • 3/3 Murderous instinct for an extra 3% critical.
  • 5/5 Lightning reflections for 15% added agility.
  • 3/3 Inventiveness leaves the cooldown of traps and Black Arrow at 24 seconds, in addition to increasing mana efficiency. Combined with the 4-Piece PvP bonus, the cooldown for traps stays at 22 seconds!
  • 2/3 Expose weakness it's all you need to keep it going. With a 66% chance to activate, it will refresh itself for its 7 second duration.
  • 1/1 Wyvern Sting… required.
  • 3/3 Thrill of the hunt for mana efficiency.

When it comes to PvP, I'm not a huge fan of Talents that only have 10% to activate but Tactical master it's too good to leave behind. Having 5 points in this talent increases Critical by 10% (equivalent to 459 Critical Strike Rating points) for 8 seconds. Is very good. Combined with Survival Instincts and Glyph of Explosive Shot, this talent puts you over 50% critical for Explosive Shot. Without a doubt it is a great help to bring down that… temper.

I recommend 3/3 in Hunting party Mainly from the guaranteed mana regen but the 3% agility is a good buff too. Surely 2/3 would do a good effect but it is better to have it active 100% of the time.

Last but not least, 1/1 in Explosive shot. I think it's a good idea to choose this talent ...

Survival PvP Glyphs

Aimed Shot Glyfo - This glyph is required for all Hunter PvP talents. The reduction of 2 seconds of the cooldown, helps us to maintain on the enemy the effect of reduction of sanction. Don't leave home without it.

Glyph of Explosive Shot - It is a 4% critical for Explosive Shot. Is it necessary to question it?

Glyph of Separation - In conjunction with the 2 points in Survival tactics this glyph reduces the cooldown of Detachment to just 16 seconds.

Pets

crab_tenacity_pvp_talents

Depending on your play style and whether or not you play arenas, pet choices are always quite subjective. However, I believe there are 2 pets that are placed high. These two pets are the Crab and the Spider.

The reason I recommend these two pets is because they both have important trapping skills. Both can trap a target for 4 seconds which is quite advantageous on Battlegrounds and invaluable in Arenas.

We are going to talk about the crab because I like what the Tenacity tree offers us. Crabs are more resistant due to Rhino blood, and they have some awesome PvP skills like Load e Get involved.

However, spiders have some pretty cool abilities for PvP as well. The first is that its trapping ability can be cast from a distance, allowing the pet to block a target without getting close to dangerous melee range. They are incredibly fast, which is great for PvP. Their skill Headstrong, acts as a kind of PvP Trinket with damage reduction. Depending on how talented they are, they can do slightly more damage.

While Ferocity pets' DPS is good, a dead Ferocity pet does less damage than a live one. Heart of the phoenix is an answer to this problem but you will have to sacrifice DPS to get it. On the other hand, Ferocity has no Roar of sacrifice, which is quite necessary for PvP in my opinion. Both Cunning and Ferocity offer a better arsenal of talents for PVP at level 80.

This is how I put the talents of a Crab: Crab Talents

I have not tried a spider yet but this is how I would adjust them: Spider Talents

Gear, enchantments, and gems

Obviously the first thing to do is hit the magic number of 5% Hit Rating in PvP. There are some races and talents that can increase failures above that 5% but I do not recommend accumulating more than 5% because other important statistics would be wasted.

If you plan to play in PvP (which is who this guide is for), Resilience is a stat you will obviously need. The ideal is to go with about 800 but a minimum of 600 is totally necessary. If you are going to do Arenas, I do not recommend having less than 700 as Hunters are generally the first target in any encounter.

As a Survival Hunter, the other stat you'll want above all else is Agility. This is basically for Lightning reflections y Expose weakness. Attack Power is good for Survival but it is always better to choose Agility over Attack Power.

Considering that Survival gains 30% Attack Power for Stamina so accumulating health is not a bad idea. However, I don't necessarily recommend spending it all on Stamina.

Intellect is always a good idea for 1 to 1 conversion of Sharpen your aim. plus of course a larger mana pool.

Critical Hit Rating is a decent stat but I would put it behind Attack Power and definitely after Agility in order of importance. Armor Penetration is another good stat but don't waste your life on it. Survival Hunter's Bread is fire-based attack power that is unaffected by Armor Penetration.

Don't worry about haste in PvP. This is a PvE statistic and is not very important.

Last but not less important. If you are considering doing some arenas, there is another stat you should seriously consider. Spell penetration. You don't need a lot but 75 points is ideal. It can be obtained from the enchantment of 35 points of penetration in Cloak and 2 Gems of 20 or by putting 3 epic gems of spell penetration. The reason is to destroy the 76 resistance points of the druid Gift of the Wild.

Druids are almost always in the Sands and it is very important to neutralize this benefit.

It is done?

Well, I have more ... Mechanics, strategies, macros and addons but ... I want to see the reception that this type of article has. If it's good, I'll prepare the second part.

These guides are very good because they teach beginners and those who have never reviewed the guides and do not know how to play their bugs
