Aloha! Guiaswow has had the immense pleasure of being able to interview Daniel Lacasta (Yumy), creator and developer of the Azeroth Trivial app.

We interview Daniel Lacasta, creator of the Azeroth Trivial app

For those of us who are very curious, tell us briefly about yourself

Well, there is not much to tell, I am an ordinary boy, I like programming, I have been passionate about the Azeroth universe since I met it back in 2006 ... (how old I sometimes feel), and for a few months I left drop by Madrid for work issues and the truth is that I'm happy.

How did you discover World of Warcraft? How were your beginnings?

Well, I discovered World of Warcraft thanks to my brother, at the time of Burning with my little gnome magician, although I only raised it to level 40. Then I discovered the druid that became my main until the next expansion that I met the Priest, that was love at first glance and it has lasted me until the start of this expansion that I have seen the Demon Hunter.

What classes do you usually play with?

Well, currently I play with my Priest who I have too much affection for him and with my Demon Hunter who amuses me as much as the first day in Azeroth.

What was your best time in World of Warcraft?

My best time? puff difficult question, I could tell you that Burning since, as they say, old times were always better, and the feeling of discovering something new and exciting does not always happen, but I also really liked LK with his band Ulduar, or Pandaria with his bands, their aesthetics, their landscapes was something that I really enjoyed, but now when I return to playing Demon Hunter it is to remember that and to feel it again then it is a conflict of feelings.

What is the best and worst gang and dungeon for you?

The best (for me and I think for more than one) the best band is Ulduar, the lore it contains, the bosses, the encounters, the scenarios, it's a whole.

The worst band for me, and not because it is poorly made and boring far from it but one that I do not like is Snake Sanctuary Cavern, those elevators uff… they contain too much hatred.

Which class do you love the most and which class do you hate the most?

As I mentioned earlier it is a conflict between the Priest and the Demon Hunter, I couldn't decide on one.

More hate? I have an infinite hatred of the Death Knight, it is a class that I have never liked and I don't think I will ever like it.

Well now that you know yourself a little more, how did the idea of making the Azeroth Trivial app come about?

Well, the truth is not something that one day I would wake up and say: I am going to create an Azeroth Trivial. It started as an idea to make an application about Warcraft, and from there talking with a friend we asked a small question and answer that was too simple but that I personally liked. I turned my head to do something bigger ... bigger, and little by little the idea has changed until it becomes what it is today.

In creating the app you have the help of Natalia Romero (@inoxdesign) in illustration themes. Tell us how did you meet and he got ready to give you a cable with the app? What is it like to work with her?

I know Natalia before starting the trivia, I knew her work and I liked her and I had already asked her for a few things. When I wanted to do something with quality, it occurred to me to turn to her and ask her for some designs. I was talking to her about the idea I had in mind and soon after we were working together, I couldn't tell you exactly how it happened and regarding working with her it is a pleasure to be honest, we work very well together and the truth is that I am delighted

Do you have many collaborators to make the issue of progressing and maintaining the app more bearable?

Well, if we consider any person who gives me feedback on the application, advice, bugs or simple comments that the application seems to him, then yes, I have many collaborators, and all those people who send and vote questions I consider them collaborators.

We know that in addition to Natalia you have collaborators who help you with questions but in programming issues. Are you the only one or are there more people with you picking code?

Yes and no, let me explain, programming the app I am on my own, but apart from programming the application code, you also have to program the server, the database and more, and in that, more than one person has offered to help me. .

The app is available on Google Play since March 24. How good was the acceptance by the community? Is the number of users playing remarkable?

I'm going to tell you a little anecdote:

Before its launch, I had a very small base of beta testers who gave me feedback and told me well, this is fine, this works badly and we prepared a small version before releasing it. Well, everything seemed to go smoothly and that it worked well, the day came and the app saw the light, what happened? Well, by increasing the number of people trying it and different devices, errors began to rain, and server failures and you would not have liked to be in my shoes that day. Why am I telling you this? Because regardless of how badly or how well it worked that day, it depends on the eyes with which you look at it, people understood that we were in a small beta phase, that we made our mistakes and more than one of them turned to help us and fix those mistakes And the truth is, I have very good memories of those days (despite having to fix bugs until I see the first rays of sun through my window)

For now iOS (iPhone / iPad) does not have this wonderful app unfortunately. In the future, users of this system will be able to enjoy it or will they have to wait a bit more?

Unfortunately, iOS users will have to wait a little longer, there are many bugs to fix still on Android and until we have a stable version, we will have to wait.

Will there be news and extras in the future?

There is always news and we are constantly adding new things, some faster, others slower but always trying to improve the app.

If a user arrives and tells me: "Hey, we girls also know about Lore and the titles I would like to see them also in feminine", it is an idea that I am writing down and for a future version I am looking to implement it. We have our small list of tasks to implement and to that list we add what users are commenting on us, some can be implemented, others not, but good notes are always taken.

I'm going to give you a little preview: obviously by commenting it means that yes, in the next version you can change and select that you are a man or a woman to differentiate titles, we are implementing more achievements, titles, avatars, a tie system in the games, a ranking of people who submit questions and a shop to buy avatars or extra titles using in-game currencies. There are many more ideas but those are saved to leave the hype.

Do you have more projects in mind besides Azeroth Trivial?

There are always more projects on his mind, but he has hours to complete each day.
Having my other apps that I maintain and my personal work already take away too many hours and now with the trivial I am at the top, so I have ideas yes, but they are just that, ideas.

Well, I don't think I left anything in the pipeline! Thank you very much for letting us meet you, grant us this interview and give you the tabarra day by day 😛 If you want to comment or express something, it is your moment (I give you the mike hahahaha) 😛

Well, I don't have much to tell the truth, other than to thank the people who help and give their little grain of sand helping this small project to grow, to everyone who collaborates and comments on anything they see about the application that can be improve, that both comments and negatives help, constructive criticism is always welcome.
