Ragnaros, the Fire Lord

Today, I come to tell you about one of the most important characters in the latest expansion that we have in hand. I speak of that being that, until recently, lived in the Core of Magma, in the depths of Blackrock Mountain and that now, has returned to its dominions in the Firelands. I speak of the all-powerful member of the quartet of Elemental Lords, of the Lord of the Fire Elementals.

I'm talking about the very Ragnaros, The Lord of Fire!

The most assiduous of this game may know that the voice (in English) of Ragnaros is quite well known, it is the voice of the famous Chris Metzen, Creative Vice President of Blizzard Entertainment.

We will begin with a little history of this character who is so strongly linked to the history of the dwarves and the Eastern Lands.

At first, The Fire Lord and his brothers, ruled the entire world with power. As servants of the Old Gods, they fought the Titans for domination of the entire planet. After fierce fighting, the victorious Titans imprisoned Ragnaros and his brothers on the Elemental Plane until the end of time. At the center of a massive lava lake on the Elemental Plane stands the Fortress of Sulfuron, the home of Ragnaros, where he rules his domain with an iron fist. It was on the Elemental Plane where the elemental brothers began to turn against each other, where the Elemental Cataclysm would last for around five thousand years, a war that pitted the Elemental Lords against each other. It was during this battle that Ragnaros defeated Thunderaan, the Prince of Air. Thunderaan was completely defeated and the Lord of Fire consumed the feast that was supposed to absorb the essence of such a powerful entity, such as an Elemental Lord. But he did not absorb the entire essence of Thunderaan. Ragnaros divided the remaining essence between two of his servants, Baron Geddon and Garr.

Three hundred years ago, the ambitious and malevolent Dark Iron dwarf clan began their bloody fight against their dwarf brothers, the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer clans, thinking that they could unite the three clans under Dark Iron rule. During the War of the Three Hammers, the leader of the Dark Iron dwarves, Thaurissan, raised a heavy siege on the Bronzebeard Clan capital, Ironforge, while his wife Modgud attacked the Savagehammer Clan capital. Modgud successfully led his assault on the Wildhammers, but for Thaurissan fate was different. The Bronzebeards managed to repel the attack and they quickly sent aid to the Wildhammers. Before long, luck turned its back on the Dark Irons and they were soon forced to retreat to their capital. Thaurissan immediately sought to summon some supernatural servant, to turn the tide of battle in favor of the Dark Irons, inviting the ancient powers sleeping beneath the earth to enter Azeroth. To Thaurissan's surprise, surprise that would ultimately be his undoing, the creature that emerged from the depths of the Elemental Plane was more terrifying than the worst nightmare he could imagine ...

Now freed by Thaurissan's call, Ragnaros was returning to Azeroth once more. The apocalyptic rebirth of Ragnaros shattered the Redridge Mountains stripping them of life and modifying their orography. It also created a violent volcano at the center of the devastation. The volcano, known as Blackrock Mountain, is surrounded by the Gorge of Fire to the north and the Burning Steppes to the south. Thought that Thaurissan had died due to the powers he had unleashed, the last survivors of the Dark Iron Clan were eventually enslaved by the Fire Lord and his elemental servants, in exchange for remaining alive. Many Dark Iron dwarves were sent to work hard in the deepest parts of the mountain, especially in the Blackrock Caverns, by order of Ragnaros and his lieutenants. In the end, the Dark Iron dwarves would end up worshiping Ragnaros, not as an Elemental Lord but as an Ancient God, despite Ragnaros being a servant of the Gods while the remaining two dwarf clans remained free.

Witnessing the horrible devastation and catastrophes that ravaged the southern mountains, the kings of the Bronzebeard and Doomhammer clans, Madoran and Khardros respectively, made the decision to stop their armies and return to their respective homes so as not to have to. face the fury of Ragnaros. The most terrifying volcano in Azeroth is the home of the Fire Lord. From there he strove to open a path to the Elemental Plane and strengthen his forces so that he could lay waste to Azeroth with his fiery presence and dominate the entire world. Meanwhile, in the Fortress of Sulfuron and throughout the Land of Fire, the servants of Ragnaros fought fervently against the rest of the Elemental Lords. On the plane of Azeroth, the Fire Lord's dwarven servants seized control of the volcanic depths of Blackrock Mountain and faced off against the Blackrock orc clan, guided by the black dragon Nefarian, for control of the areas. upper parts of the volcano.

But things have changed since Ragnaros settled on Blackrock Mountain. It is known that a group of heroes managed to return Ragnaros to the Elemental Plane by defeating him in a tough battle deep within the volcano. All seemed quiet on the Elemental Plane after Ragnaros returned to his stronghold in the Land of Fire, until Deathwing, the ancient Aspect of Earth Neltharion, broke through the barriers that separated the Elemental Plane, unleashing the power of the elementals throughout Azeroth. . Ragnaros has not missed the opportunity and has allied himself with Deathwing. Thanks to the alliance with Deathwing, Ragnaros has managed to advance his fight against Nefarian for Blackrock Mountain. Now both, supported by the forces of the Twilight Cult, prepare an assault of immense proportions on the lands of Mount Hyjal where the New World Tree tries to flourish amid so much devastation.

But Ragnaros not only causes misfortunes and horrors in Azeroth, it also brings the happiness of many players, especially when, when defeating him in the Molten Core, he gives us the Eye of Sulfuras as a gift. And as the prophecy I just made up says:

"Whoever owns the Eye of Sulfuras and carry with honor and justice the Sulfuron's Hammer, you will get a weapon of unimaginable power with which you will become the possessor of the much coveted achievement "We are legendary”And you will be on your way to get The definitive collection«

Also, if one knows in what vase search, we will be able to free Thunderaan himself from his bonds after disposing of Ragnaros and his most loyal followers in their stronghold on Blackrock Mountain. Not to mention that, if we find that vase, we will be closer to another legendary weapon.

I hope I have achieved with this contribution that we know a little more about this terrible enemy that, in not long, we will have to face in his own strength and of course defeat him. Will a group of heroes once again be able to return Ragnaros to the Elemental Plane or will we end once and for all with the essence of this terrible being?
