Challenge mode

As you know, in this new expansion a new game mode is introduced, called Challenge mode, in which a timer will be activated that will measure the time it takes to complete a dungeon, therefore the faster we finish the dungeon the better rewards await us.

In this section we will see some points of this system as we learn more about the subject.

Time flies. Your group makes progress, but you are aware that if you don't hurry and work as a team, you will never make it on time. You approach the last boss of the dungeon with a look of staunch determination on your face; This time you will get that gold medal, whatever the cost. It's almost gone, but there are only seconds left on the counter. You yell at your bandmates to give it their all in one last try and your fingers fly over the keyboard. It finally falls, and your party emits a triumphant roar: You have beaten the best time in the dungeon. You have mastered the challenge mode.

The challenge mode in Mists of Pandaria is a new form of reward for great team players and seasoned dungeon specialists. The idea is simple: if you choose the challenge mode in a dungeon, you and your party will play against the clock to finish the dungeon as quickly as possible. The faster you finish, the higher the reward.

The challenge mode is chosen before entering the dungeon. In this mode, your goal is to clean the room and kill all the bosses in the dungeon in the shortest time possible. Your equipment will be normalized, which means that instead of your own equipment, you will fight with a set of items appropriate for the instance. In this way, the challenge level will be the same for all players. Depending on how quickly you finish a dungeon, your party can win one of three possible medals: gold, silver, and bronze. Teaming up, communicating, helping and encouraging each other is the best way to get those shiny gold medals.

Time Trial

After your party completes a dungeon in challenge mode, your time will be evaluated. If you finish a raid within the optimal time limit, you will get a gold medal - the more you exceed that time limit, the lower the value of your medal will be. Your gold medals and other Challenge Mode achievements will be recorded so you can show off your feats and see how other players are doing. You will be able to compare yourself with other members of your brotherhood and even with your entire kingdom and see who has achieved the most gold, silver or bronze medals.

The first thing to know is that there are three types of rewards:

  • Bronze: That will grant achievement.
  • Silver: Whose reward will be a special armor to transfigure
  • Gold: It is the best brand with which you will be rewarded with a unique epic mount.

Once players have received gold in all dungeons, they will have access to the kingdom rankings list. This leaderboard allows players to filter instances, time and guilds, to organize the next challenge.

On the other hand, this game mode was inspired by the Zul'Aman dungeon, which, as you will well remember, had a time limit to save the adventurers trapped by the Amani, and if we succeeded, we were rewarded with the Amani War Bear.

The purpose of the challenges is to create a competitive environment without confrontations between brotherhoods to know which is the fastest to finish the dungeons.

In the user interface there will be a tab in which the medals obtained, the time and the rewards obtained will be displayed, as well as the minimum time in which you must complete a dungeon to win the next medal. At the moment the achievement of the first of the kingdom is available (under modification criteria) by obtaining all the gold or silver medals.

For the glory

The rewards for achieving the best times in challenge mode will be primarily visual in nature. There will be rewards such as new breathtaking armor skins, new mounts, titles, and much more that will only be available to players who unlock content by clearing the toughest dungeons in challenge mode. The more medals you earn, the more rewards you will unlock. There are item sets as rewards for bronze, silver, and gold. The more medals you get, the more pieces of the level set you will get.
