Legion - New World Of Warcraft Expansion Announced

Legion new expansion wow

Today at Gamescom 2015, the name of the next World of Warcraft expansion has finally been revealed! It's called the Legion.

Legion - New World of Warcraft Expansion

Today during Gasmescom as scheduled, the next World of Warcraft expansion, Legion, was released.

Warning, spoilers for the videos shown on gamescom.

Much has been speculated about what the next expansion was going to be. The most repeated theory was about the naga and Queen Aszhara but the thing has ended up being totally different and surprising. In the end it will be about nothing more and nothing less than the Burning Legion. From what we have seen in the videos that have shown Gul'dan awakens Illidan and Khadgar warns that the burning legion is on its way.

The first impression on the trailer and the videos is epic. It is totally a continuation of the ending of Draenor something that many players were looking forward to. It seems that we will finally have a Burning Crussade 2.0 with many surprising news.

The main features mentioned for Legion are:

  • Max level increased to 110.
  • New Continent Broken Isles.
  • New playable class: Demon Hunter.
  • Artifacts - Fully customizable legendary weapons that increase your own power.
  • Class specific venues and followers.
  • New world bosses.
  • All-new dungeons and raids.
  • Redesigned PvP progress system.
  • Improved transmogrification system.
  • Improved social features.
  • New instantaneous level up. Raise a character immediately to level 100!

Personal opinion

Regarding Draenor and in my humble opinion, I have the feeling that everything has ended abruptly, and even the feeling that it has not ended. I think that being an alternate timeline and being Draenor the lore could have been exploited much more. From patch 6.1 to 6.2 there is an abysmal acceleration of events and at the end of Hellfire Citadel I was waiting for more. From here I make a separation as I mention details of the latest Draenor cinematic.

Spoiler start.

When Gul'dan passes through that portal, it makes one think that this portal leads to the abyssal void and that from there he will try to access our Azeroth (perhaps through some invocation). Regarding the scene itself, I am disappointed that Grommash gets away with all his past acts, at least he expected a trial (although seeing how it worked with his son scares me the father) or a heroic death to redeem himself. For my taste, an ending too happy, fast and with many loose ends.

End of Spoiler.

I was hoping that the next expansion would be a direct continuation of these events and I am totally excited to see that it is a direct continuation with a story and it is totally continuous. Very happy with this surprise and this turn of events.

Regarding Blizzard's work, I am satisfied. During this expansion they have introduced many new features (citadel, mythical corn, bonuses on maps), many technical improvements (remodeling of characters, textures and environments), the WoW token, etc. It has been an expansion of many changes and I am left with a positive balance regarding the work of blizzard (excluding the mentioned lore).

The Ancient Gods N'zoth and the fifth Ancient of which we know nothing about him ... Because if they took an expa for the Pandas, why not one "For the Ancient Gods".

Brother an expa for the old gods would have to end in a depressing way, without being able to kill them, since doing so would destroy Azeroth, in short all the expansions were moved by the old gods. They are the mind that weaves destiny and that wants to ensure that Azeroth is free from the participation of the Titans, the only ones who can stop them.
