Patch 4.3 Raid - The Dragon Soul

The new patch 4.3 World of Warcraft gives players the opportunity to take the battle to the Shrine of the Dragon Rest and beyond, helping Thrall and the Dragon Aspects as they seek to defeat the Black Dragonflight once and for all. The 10- and 25-player raids will be able to fight Deathwing, with three difficulty levels and epic weaponry to claim.

Blizzard shows us a preview of the new Raid instance: The Dragon Soul, available in the new patch.

The Dragon Soul, which was forged by Deathwing during the War of the Ancients, used the power of the other dragon flights, until it was destroyed. After retrieving a version of the artifact from the Caverns of Time, Thrall and the alliance of the dragonflights gather at the Shrine of Dragon's Rest in a desperate attempt to use its power to defeat Deathwing.

The broken Temple of the Dragon's Rest, which was created by the Titans as a sanctuary for all dragons, is the final hope for the allied forces against the black dragon Neltharion, once Guardian of Earth and protector of Azeroth, who is now known as Deathwing "the Destroyer." This is where the remaining aspects — Alexstrasza, Ysera, Nozdormu, Kalecgos, and Thrall — have come together to empower the Dragon Soul; the last hope to stop the great behemoth. As they begin to energize the Dragon Soul, Deathwing and the entire army attack the Shrine of Dragon Rest. Players must stop the attacking forces long enough for Thrall to charge the Dragon Soul.

Before facing off against Deathwing the Destroyer, you must defeat six powerful bosses.

Morchok, the most powerful elemental still under Deathwing's control and once a passive guardian, is now convinced that his only respite will come with the defeat of Azeroth. Morchok savagely attacks the base of the Dragon's Rest Shrine, Azeroth's last sign of hope in the Twilight Hour.

Many years ago, the warlord Zon'ozz and his soldiers waged an endless war against the forces of C'thun and Yogg-Saron. Thousands of years have passed, but the warlord still serves the chaotic might of the Ancient God N'Zoth. Deathwing has now unleashed this legendary faceless man to defeat the defenders of the Dragon's Rest Shrine.

Since the fall of the Twilight Hold, Yor'sahj the Watchman has eagerly aided Deathwing, providing the Destroyer with means with which to unleash a greater number of the unknown from his prisons, which are located deep within the earth. They are innumerable and their power cannot be calculated, and Yor'sahj intends to receive a grim reward for his faithful service.

Hagara the Binder, one of the Forsaken's first arcane magic students, exhibited much potential for someone who began her apprenticeship so late in life. But in her undisciplined attempts to make the elements serve her, she was drawn and twisted by the Wind Lord Al'akir. Hagara, who is now extremely faithful to the Twilight's Hammer, will bind others so that their elemental masters can torture them.

Looking more like an abomination of dark energy than a dragon, Ultraxion has spent his short life absorbing the essence of captured Nether Dragons. Ultraxion is the only twilight dragon praised by Deathwing, and his arrogance is only overshadowed by the sizzling energies rising from his twisted form. True to his master, Ultraxion swears that he will bring the fall of the Dragon's Rest Shrine.

Although there were many before, only a dozen twilight dragons remain. Atop these hardened survivors are the last remnants of the Twilight's Hammer army: the elite drake horsemen; Deathwing's personal escorts. Led by the insidious warlord Blackhorn, they move with unholy purpose and an instinct to protect their dark master.

When Deathwing first channeled the power of the Dragon Soul against the other dragon flights, the massive energies he unleashed threatened to destroy him. Instead of sacrificing this weapon, he fused adamantium plates to his scales to hold his body together. These plates, which he later reinforced with elementium, are now his weakness and represent the only vulnerable part of his deadly presence.

Your assault on the huge Deathwing will start a battle like no other. It is such a diverse and intense battle that it consists of two unique encounters, both of which will take place across Azeroth. Taking to the skies, players will parachute from warships to attack the monster in mid-flight and attempt to rip its armor, weakening it and exposing its molten flesh. If you succeed, they will descend into the depths of the Maelstrom for the final encounter.

No adventurer has ever attacked such a great and dangerous enemy, and has survived to tell the tale. Will you do it?
