Pst! We are already here! Introducing Raideando.com

The time has come. It has been 5 days in which we have been finalizing details for the launch of this new tool, which promises to remove the foundations of Azeroth… [Naini emerges from stealth and dispenses the Curse of Deathwing to Belelros]

Where he was going? Ahh yes! Today we present: raideando.com

What is Raideando.com and what is it for?

For a long time, especially since I posted this article almost a year ago on how to create a guild website in World of Warcraft, we have observed that many people hit the language barrier when creating a fairly complete website since the entire administration it was in english.
For those who master the language it is not much of a problem, but for those who do not speak it, Raideando has the solution.

From Raideando.com you can create a website for your brotherhood completely free of charge. The web, apart from having a complete phpBB3 forum, contains a complete content management, recruiting, band and DKP system, which places it at the forefront of the free services offered so far. And the best thing is (apart from the fact that it is free) that it is completely in Spanish.

In addition, this tool is prepared and can be extended to other well-known MMORPG games such as Aion, Warhammer Online or Age of Conans.

A Little History

Raideando was forged in our minds long ago, over a year, when after repeatedly trying to contact Wowstead to propose a (free) translation of the system, we were vilely ignored. We thought about hiring hackers to get revenge, but instead someone pointed out a more optimal solution: Why don't we mount a Spanish-style wowstead?

We started making our plans, testing products and, finally, after talking with the guys behind EQDKP-Plus, we reached an agreement to offer a service similar to the one they offer themselves on the Official German Fansite: Allvatar.

We signed a contract (in German, which Chavex helped us translate: thanks macpollero!) And we got down to work.

All the initial work, which took us about 2 or 3 months, was translation. I have to say that you may find some errors in the translation. "Search" can be search or search and when you translate a huge file with more than 1,000 strings it is very heavy and difficult so some strings may be wrong or out of context. For this, there is the error forum in which we will collect all these errors to solve them.

Then a slow process of establishing systems began, establishing a powerful server to host the tool: 8Gb of RAM, 4x 2x 2.66+ GHz and 2TB of Disk. We have the invaluable support of a great systems administrator who, today, maintains a large network of servers here in Spain, his experience has been essential.

After this, we finally started the development work of the tool that is responsible for creating all the websites and fixing errors with the help of the German team.

Finally, we are here with a tool that we hope will be enjoyed by the entire community, both Wowera and other games.

Before closing and letting you enjoy the tool, I would like to advise that, for the moment, the Automation system is deactivated. This means that all registrations will be reviewed to monitor the performance of the servers and the queries to the Databases as much as possible. Once we have the whole system in a controlled performance, we will activate this and the registrations will be automatic. However, except for a major problem, no discharge should take more than 12-24 hours.

Acknowledgements

I want to thank all of this to all the people who have supported this initiative and who, in one way or another, have contributed to making all of this possible.

To Jaume for his infinite patience and inexhaustible source of knowledge on systems management and administration.

To Stefan from Allvatar for those long conference sessions and that, despite his recent paternity (Glückwünsche!), He has been there putting up with all my doubts and solving the bugs that I reported to him with his entire team of professionals.

To the entire team of collaborators of GuíasWoW who have participated in one way or another in the project.

To the clan of Macpolleros for doing everything in their power to help us.

To those who do not mention but know that I appreciate it like the others.

And of course, to my wife (Naini) for pushing me to work and for giving me all possible encouragement.

To all of you for making all of this possible.
