    Hello everyone,

This is the most exciting announcement I have ever made!

Many of you will know that I have been developing Wipefest in my spare time for 3 and a half years. It started as an exciting project to help my sorority work on and refine tactics to progress, and has since grown and grown based on feedback from the community.

Wipefest tries to fill a niche that I felt didn't have as much of a focus at the time: mechanical analysis. To do this, it uses the Warcraft Logs API to collect data from logged encounters to show performance summaries and potential improvements.

Kihra at Warcraftlogs has always been really helpful in supporting Wipefest (and other developers using the Warcraftlogs API), always answering any questions and quickly fixing any issues on rare occasions when something started to behave differently.

Both Wipefest and Warcraftlogs are aligned with our goals of providing incredible tools to the World of Warcraft gaming community, so I am very excited to announce that Wipefest is joining the Warcraftlogs family and I will start working on both sites in time. full. That means I will be able to spend a lot more time making these tools as awesome and useful as possible.

So what does this mean? In the short term: very little will change. You can still count on Wipefest and I've already started updating the site to be ready for Nathria Castle. And in the long run? We are not completely sure yet. There will certainly be a more comprehensive feature set than ever in both applications, due to the additional engineering resources and shared knowledge that we will have. There will be some kind of integration between Wipefest and Warcraftlogs but we are not entirely sure of the details or the date.

What does an integration between Wipefest and Warcraftlogs mean? Well, for starters, it will remove all the limitations I currently have when designing new mechanical knowledge. Currently, I have to limit the amount of data I request from Warcraft logs, but in the future I will have access to every combat event in the log when generating analytics.

I am very excited to be able to know the position of each player and NPC at any point in the fight. This may open the doors to much smarter insights, such as figuring out what went wrong in a Life / Void rotation in Ra-den or how far away the Brutal Smash players are in Vexiona, and why certain people are being rooted.

I'm looking forward to Shadowlands and finding new ways to help us progress through the tiers. Thank you all for your continued support!

    - Yax
