World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor comes with a tidal wave of user interface (UI) improvements - from streamlined quest tracking to a better inventory system to new ways to store relics and toys.
Mission log
In the next expansion, we're updating the Quest UI to make it easier to know where to go and what to do. The quest log will be organized to show which quests belong to the main story arc and which are side quests, so you don't have to worry about missing important story elements before moving on to the next area. Please note that there may still be items that are not included - we don't want the quest log to give you any surprises!
Inventory system
We will make several improvements to the inventory system and add features to eliminate some of the clutter.
- Mission items: Quest items will no longer take up inventory space and will be moved to the Quest UI.
- Assignable bags:No longer will you have to rummage through dozens of icons to try to find the item you are looking for. Instead, the items you collect or obtain will go to the bag you designate for those items.
- Bags can be assigned to particular item types like armor, consumables, gray items, etc.
- Additionally, the edges of item icons will be colored to indicate item quality, and gray items (which can be safely sold to any vendor) will have a gold coin icon.
- Create directly from the bank: create or enchant directly from the materials you have in the bank. You won't have to remove the materials, create or enchant the item, and re-deposit the materials in the bank.
- Collection: The collection will offer account-level tracking of relics and toys (more info below).
Collection
Heirlooms and toys accumulated from your travels will now be placed in the collection system, meaning they will no longer take up valuable inventory space. Once obtained, the item will be accessible to all characters on the account. Do you want to complete the collection? As with the Pet and Mount Guide, items that have not been unlocked will display information on how to obtain them. The collection system is divided into two main parts:
Relics
Now the relics are truly linked to the account through the realms. All characters on the account (new or old) will be able to summon the relics you have unlocked directly from their inventories!
Toy box
Now you can collect your favorite toys and fun objects without detriment to having to remove them to make room in your inventory. Disgusting marmot, I look at you.
