World Quests and Emissaries: Rewards and Categories

A new PVE mechanic called World Quests will be introduced with Legion. Take a look to see what can be obtained from it, what they are and their importance!

What are World Missions?

World Quests will work very similarly to Warlords of Draenor bonus objectives.. Starting at level 110, when you open your map you will see the number of markers around the world. These markers indicate different types of World Quests that can be completed. You will need to travel to that location, which will start automatically. It is necessary to complete the criteria marked in the mission and then you will receive a reward based on mission type and difficulty.

What are the different types of World Quests?

There are several types of World Missions in Legion:

  • Normal missions that can be completed by a solo player, marked with a "!" yellow.
  • Small group missions that require killing an elite, marked with a "!" with a golden dragon border.
  • Group missions that require killing a rare elite, marked with an "!" with a blue dragon border.
  • Group missions that require entering a dungeon, marked with a blue skull with a dragon border.
  • Group missions that require killing a world boss, marked with a "!" with a violet dragon border.
  • PvP missions, marked by the symbol of the crossed swords characteristic of PvP combats.
  • Pet battle missions, marked with a green paw.
  • Profession missions, marked with the profession icon.

What rewards can I get from World Quests?

There is a great variety, especially with so many different types of World Quests available. The possible rewards are as follows:

  • Currencies, such as:
    • Gold.
    • Classroom resources.
    • Artifact power.
  • Materials, such as:
  • Troop and champion items for your class headquarters.
  • Rank 3 recipes for professions.
  • Equipment from item level 805.
  • PvP team from PvP missions.
  • Reputation with the Broken Isles factions.

It is important to note that as you increase your equipment level, the equipment you get will also increase in level to maintain the relevance of the World Quests.

Emissary missions

Every day when you are preparing to do your World Quests, be sure to check the map to see which Emissary Quest is available. A new one will be available every day and you can have 3 activated at any time. If an Emissary mission was activated 3 days ago it will be replaced by a different one.

These Emissary missions require you to complete 4 World Missions tied to that Emissary's faction. Once this is done, meet with the Emissary of the faction and he will give you a reward. You will receive:

  • 1500 reputation with the mission faction.
  • A chest that can contain:
    • Classroom resources.
    • Artifact power.
    • Equipment for champions and troops.
    • Legion Legendary Gear.
    • An item that starts the quest chain to obtain the mount lothien.

Kirin Tor Emissary Quests

These missions work slightly differently compared to the Emissaries of the Steep Isles missions, mainly due to the fact that the Kirin Tor does not actually have an area that it can call its "hub of activities." Instead, Kirin Tor World Quests can be spawned in any zone and they are often puzzles instead of simply killing a certain number of enemies.

Once you have completed 4 of their missions, the reward is the same as in the other Emissary Missions except for the fact that you can choose in which faction to use the 1500 reputation points.
