Strategy

The fight against Onyxia is not too complicated and remember that, as a reward, you can get a 310% speed mount. The difficulty of this combat is comparable to that of the Trial of the Crusader, taking into account that the loot level in 10-player mode is 232 and that of 25 is 245.

It will consist of 3 well-defined phases that we will now explain. Unlike the initial version, Onyxia No. It will reset the threat on its players so the Phase 1 tank will be the first to receive it in Phase 3.

Phase 1

onyxia_tcg_art

This phase is completely the same as the original combat. That is, Onyxia will be on the ground using all abilities typical of a dragon until we reduce your health to 65%. He will use his Breath of Flames in a frontal cone, Slit that will hit up to 10 players, his blow with the tail that will send us into the air and his powerful Wing Shake that will send anyone who dares to stand in front of the mother of the lineage into the air. .

It is easy to imagine that no DPS must be placed in front of the Dragon. The Tank will place her with her back to the raid with her back against the wall (to avoid being thrown), needing pretty strong heals considering the increased damage from Onyxia's abilities.
The DPS will be placed on the sides to avoid hitting the tail.

Once she reaches 65% health, Onyxia will take flight and begin second phase.

Important note: If a player falls on an egg, it will hatch and the corresponding dragon will appear, so it is important to avoid being thrown into the air at all costs.

Phase 2: New Mechanics

This is the most difficult phase of combat.

In this phase, two types of Onyxia's helpers will appear: Onyxia hatchlings y Onyxia's Lair Wardens.

Onyxia hatchlings

The Hatchlings will appear in groups of 40 (20 from each side). The first group of 40 will appear shortly after Onyxia rises and they will appear every 90 seconds after the first appearance. The most advisable thing is to knock them down to areas although it is a good idea for a tank to grab them all so that it is easier to kill them.

Onyxia's Lair Wardens

These guards are the new version of the Onyxia Trustees (which no longer exist). They will come in pairs and although they do not have much life, they do a lot of damage. They will appear every 30 seconds and must be tanked.
The most important thing is that melee DPS stay away of these Guards as they have abilities like they do a lot of fire damage to targets in melee range.

Onyxia

Did you think you weren't going to have to do anything with her? Nothing is further from reality!
Onyxia will launch Fireballs that will have to be healed and forces the band to remain more than 10 meters from each other to avoid massive damage. Ahh! I almost forgot ... we still have the Deep breath.

This ability is 100% random which prevents any addon, call it Deadly Boss Mods or whatever it wants, from warning you that it is going to release its breath. However, we will see a band warning that will alert us to what is going to happen. At that moment all they will drop whatever they were doing, look in which direction Onyxia is pointing, and stand behind her in the opposite direction. The deep breath is tremendously mortal.

Among all this, Onyxia's health will have to be lowered to 40% to move to the second phase. Melee DPS can still DPS but need to be right below it while ranged DPS will be able to do it normally.

Phase 3

When Onyxia reaches 40% health, she will land on the ground permanently and the entire gang will flee in terror as the lava rises from the ground. The damage on the band will be constant especially for the tank.

In this phase he will use all the abilities of the first phase (that is, the dragon ones) in addition to the Roaring roar which will make us run for 3 seconds and erupt as we run.

In addition, hatchlings will continue to appear although in smaller numbers. A few ranged DPS would finish them off quickly.

It is time to use Heroism / Bloodlust to reduce the duration of this phase, as much as possible. It's a good idea to use fire protection skills like Paladin Aura or Shaman Totem to mitigate all damage dealt.
