11/05 - PTR Patch 4.2 Notes Updates

El Patch 4.2 looks promising with amazing new content, new band, over 60 new daily missions and, as if that weren't enough, a new legendary weapon. Last night the patch had an update in the Public Test Realms and Zarhym was in charge of updating it… and we of translating them.

There are a lot of changes for Druids, Paladins, and Shamans. Major changes are coming for healers and I'm afraid some nerfs we see, especially the shaman, are caused by the switch to healings:

  • All critical heals now heal for double the normal heal (+ 100%), up from 1,5 times the normal amount (+ 50%)
  • All classes that leave buffs on friendly targets no longer generate a threat. This applies to raid-wide buffs like Mark of the Wild and Word of Power: Fortitude, as well as Blessed Resilience or Fingers of Frost activated, and single-target buffs like Dark Purpose and Hysteria. The exception is buffs that deal direct damage or heal like Thorns or Renew. These abilities still generate normal threat.
  • The Aggressive Attitude has been removed and replaced with the Attendance Attitude. This attitude will cause the player's pet to attack the player's target. The pet will not change targets unless the master attacks a new target for a few seconds.

General

  • Services

However, being interrupted while casting a dual school spell will still interrupt the respective schools as intended.

Death Knight

  • Ravage's base damage has been reduced to 150% of weapon damage, down from 160%.
  • Talent Specializations
    • Frost
      • Annihilation now increases Ravage damage by 12/24/36% instead of 15/30/45%.
    • Profane
      • Unholy Might now increases Strength by 10%, up from 5%.

Druid

  • Ferocious Bite's damage has been increased by 15%. In addition, its base cost has been reduced to 25 energy points, it can use up to 25 energy to obtain a damage increase of up to 100%
  • Mangle (Cat) damage has been increased to level 80 and above 530% of weapon damage, up from 460%.
  • Omen of Clarity's freecast effect now lasts 15 seconds, up from 8.
  • Devastate damage has been increased to level 80 and above 975% of weapon damage, up from 850%.
  • Shred damage has been increased to level 80 and above to 520% ​​weapon damage, up from 450%.
  • Swipe (Cat) now deals 600% of weapon damage at level 80 or higher, up from 670%.
  • Talent Specializations
    • Equilibrio
      • Insect Swarm now generates 8 Lunar energy points for Druids with Eclipse.
      • Moonfire now generates 8 Solar Power points for Druids with Eclipse.
      • Solar Fire now generates 8 points of Lunar energy for Druids with Eclipse.
      • The duration of Earth and Moon has been increased to 15 seconds, up from 12.
      • The visual effect of the Fungal Growth spell has been updated to be less visually intrusive and more aesthetic.
      • Lunar Rain has been redesigned. When casting Moonfire, the druid gains Moonlight. Lunar Rain increases direct damage done by Moonfire by 15/30/45% and reduces mana cost by 10/20/30%. The effect stacks up to 3 times and lasts for 3 seconds. While under the effects of Moon Rain, Moonfire generates 8 points of Solar Energy and Solar Fire generates 8 points of Moon Energy. The amount of Lunar / Solar energy gained does not change based on the number of points spent on the Lunar Rain talent or dose. Those druids who wish to delay the transition to or from an Eclipse state should now launch one of the two basic attacks that does not move the Eclipse bar (Starfire or Wrath)
      • Sunbeam now has a new spell effect.
      • Wild Mushroom Detonation can now also trigger Earth and Moon, in addition to Starfire and Wrath.
    • Restaurants
      • Symbiosis (Mastery) has been removed and replaced with Harmony. Harmony increases direct healing by an additional 10%, and casting direct healing spells grants an additional 10% to the effects of periodic heals for 10 seconds. Each point of mastery increases each bonus by an additional 1.25%. Healing Touch, Nourish, Swift Mending, and Regrowth's initial healing are considered direct healing spells for the purpose of this mastery. All other druid healings are considered periodic.
  • Glyphs
    • Glyph of Rage's duration increase is now 10 seconds, up from 5.

Hunter

  • Multishot damage has been reduced. Now deals 120% of weapon damage at level 80 or higher instead of 137%.
  • Traps now scale with Hunter attributes such as hit, expertise, spell penetration, and attack power.

Wizard

  • Steal Spell now has a 6 second cooldown.

Paladin

  • Divine Light's mana cost has been increased to 35% of base mana instead of 30%.
  • Flash of Light's mana cost has been increased to 31% of base mana, down from 27%.
  • Rebuke, Divine Shield, and Divine Protection have new icons.
  • Talent Specialization
    • Sagrado
      • Holy Shock's mana cost has been increased to 9% of base mana instead of 8%.
      • Speed ​​of Light now increases movement speed when Holy Radiance or Divine Protection is cast. Additionally, this talent now reduces the cooldown of Holy Radiance by 13/26/40 seconds, up from 10/20/30.
    • Protection
      • Red-Hot Defender now has a new spell effect
      • The mana cost of Hammer of the Righteous has been reduced to 10%, up from 12% to match Crusader Strike.
      • Judgments of the Sage now triggers on intent rather than on hit, meaning that judgments that fail can still grant mana. This is to ensure that Protection Paladins don't run out of mana if they don't have enough hit rating.

Shaman

  • Lightning Shield and Water Shield can no longer be dispelled.
  • Unleashing elements is now in the Nature branch and therefore cannot be used if the shaman's Nature branch has been locked.
  • Water Shield has seen its internal cooldown reduced to 3,5 seconds once again to match other shields. The amount of mana restored when Water Shield triggers has been reduced by 50%.
  • Talent Specializations
    • Elemental
      • Lava Flows now grants a 30/60/90% haste buff when a Flame Shock effect is dispelled instead of 10/20/30%.
      • Thunder Storm now reduces the movement speed of knocking down players by 40% for 5 seconds.
    • Restaurants
      • Improved Water Shield has been redesigned and renamed to Resurgence. When Water Shield is active, Resurgence causes direct heals that are critical to restore mana (Resurgence Level 2 is roughly equal to the 150% value of the old Enhanced Water Shield when a Healing Wave or Greater Healing Wave critically hit and has been reduced accordingly for faster or multi-target spells.
      • Mana Tide Totem now grants 200% of the Shaman's Spirit instead of 400%.
  • Glyphs
    • Glyph of Unleashed Bolt (new Major Glyph) allows Lightning Bolt to be cast on the move.

Sorcerer

  • Soul Harvest has a new spell effect.

Dungeons and Raids

  • The Firelands, a new 10- and 25-player raid is now open for limited testing.

Brotherhoods

  • Guild daily experience limit has been increased by 25%.
  • The weekly guild experience limit has been increased by 25%.
  • Guild experience cap is now removed at level 20, up from 23.

Objects

  • The damage dealt when the Darkmoon Card: Hurricane is activated has been increased by 40%, however, it can no longer critically hit and does not take any modifiers to its damage from the player's equipment.
    • Object sets
      • The Elemental Shaman's 4-piece PvP set bonus (from the Gladiator's Thunderfist set) has been redesigned. Now causes Lightning Shield to generate an extra charge, instead of consuming one, when triggered by taking damage, up to a maximum of 3 (9 with Deafening Thunder talent)

Careers

  • Skinning
    • Players can no longer skin bodies that are actively skinned or collected by other players.

PvP

  • Conquest Points
    • The minimum limit for Conquest Points earned per week is 1500 with a Battleground rating of 1500 or lower. The maximum limit remains at 3000 with a rating of 3000 or higher in Battlegrounds. The limit continues to scale non-linearly between these two points.
    • The game now records the different limits of Battlegrounds and Arenas separately. The limit per Arena rating will always be 2-thirds of the limit per Battlefield rating in any arena rating. Players can earn a total number of Conquest Points per week equal to the higher of these two limits but once players reach the limit for Arenas or Battlegrounds they will no longer be able to earn Conquest Points from that source. Conquest points from promotional Battlegrounds only count towards the total Conquest Point limit.

Missions and Creatures

  • Weird things no longer happen to crit hits and dodge chances of low-level creatures.

User interface

  • Band profiles are in the process of being implemented and are not fully functional. Raid profiles will allow players to save their raid interface layout based on content type (e.g. 10 player raids, 25 player raids, Battlegrounds, etc)
