Changes to Priest, revising patch 6.0

Skill Modification and Upgrades

Many skills have been renamed and improved:

  • Has been renamed Higher healing by Heal.
  • Holy fire now it lasts 9 seconds, before it lasted 7 seconds.
  • Devouring plague now costs 3 Shadow Orbs and heals the priest for 100% for the damage he deals, instead of healing for tics.

  • Divine hymn now heals all members of the group or band instead of a certain variable number depending on the number of members. His healing has been adjusted to compensate.
  • Evangelism no longer affects spell damage or mana cost, damage of affected spells has been adjusted to compensate.
  • Centered Will now triggers automatically from taking any damage, instead of being limited to taking damage above 5% of total health, or from a critical hit.

Contrition and Talents level 90

Contrition was the original ability to convert from damage to heal, apparently it got out of hand in this latest expansion; therefore they have decided to reduce its effectiveness in order to achieve the initial goal that the developers had of exchanging significant healing for significant damage. The changes that are made based on this error are the following:

  • Contrition now heals 25% less than before.
  • The mana cost of Waterfall dropped 67%
    • Discipline and Sacred: Waterfall now has a 1.5 sec cast time instead of instant; also heals for 50% less and no longer damages enemy targets.
    • Shadow: Waterfall no longer heals allies.
  • The mana cost of Halo decreased by 67%:
    • Discipline and Sacred: Halo It is no longer instantaneous and has a 1.5 second cast time, as well as 50% less healing and no damage to enemies.
    • Shadow: Halo no longer heals allies.
  • The mana cost of Divine star It has also been reduced by 67% and now follows the basic AoE rules.

Changes to Talents

Various talents have been divided into different versions by specialization; as well as the effectiveness of these talents has been reviewed to better balance the choice. To restore balance, AoE caps have been re-applied for level 90 talents, making them more consistent with all other AoE heals and reducing their effectiveness.

Miscellaneous changes

  • Angelica feather now increases movement speed by 60% (was 80%). If it is thrown on players, it will always prefer the priest who launches it over others. Then he chooses the player closest to the objective, if there are no players in the selected place he will also create a feather that can be collected. Collecting multiple feathers extends the duration to a maximum of 130% base duration.
  • Holy Nova It will no longer be available through a major glyph, but is now a Discipline priest specialization ability. Mana cost reduced and healing increased. It has become an effective AoE healing spell for Discipline Priest.
  • El Prayer of relief from multiple priests in the raid can now be on the same target and can be on multiple targets from the same priest, but the ability has a 1.5 second cast and cooldown (was instant before)
  • Shadowfiend no longer restores mana.
    • Dominating now restores 0.75% mana per hit (down from 1.75% mana)
  • Void Tentacles now has 10% of the priest's health, down from 20%), and damage dealt to the rooted target also affects the tentacle itself.

    Honestly, after reading the entire post, I have been checked, as you say. I don't know how the priest will be today, I'll start playing again tomorrow, but honestly, this is a very clear super nerf in its entirety. They reduce much of the main abilities to the point of making them useless due to their high mana cost. Well, as Blizt says, these changes are for the "better" but hey, I'm not Priest users, but this seems like a blast to me.
